remote triggered flash placed to the right near subject. manual power of 1/4 diffused with whaletail. remote fired. firing a few test shots then this one was just in time as a p&s cam's flash went off, otherwise this would be underexposed hehehe. iso400 f/3.2 1/80 70mm

remote triggered flash on a monopod held about 6feet high about 45 degrees to the right of camera. manual power of 1/4 diffused with whaletail. iso400 f/2.8 1/160 24mm

the last one i should have fired at 1/50 or 1/80 to give my background more exposure. still learning c&c's are welcomed

Instead of creating another thread, I hope this one's not OT.

I know that I should have used the flash to fill in the shadows made by the hat in this photo:

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Cebu_Photo/single/?p=56682&t=1164541

But I don't know what flash compensation to use. -2, -1 2/3, ... -1/3?

Any suggestions?

What's your EXIF on the pic?

By just looking at the picture, I think at even (0) compensation or -1/3 is good enough since it's sunny. Better invest in an external flash, 430ex2 or even the 580ex2.

Did you bounce the flash or did you use a diffuser?

My contribution:

Was going for a natural light setting. This was taken during a cloudy afternoon. Room lights were not turned on.

Flash is on top of the toy cabinet at the back with a diffuser and another flash was set up on the opposite side of the toy cabinet, again with a diffuser.
