About Have a character you'd really like to see played, just not by you? Does your character have a family member or friend that you'd like someone else to play? Well here's the place for that. They are called Adoptable Characters or ACs.
Creating an AC Same rules* apply to these bios as any other here, but here are some additional things to be aware of:
- You may create as many ACs as you like.
- Once you post the AC's biography, you are no longer in control of him/her. Yes, you do have some say, but once you've got the bio written out, then the adopter is now in charge of your AC. You can certainly discuss things with the person who adopted your character; Plot-wise, personality-wise, etc. Just keep this in mind.
- You may also post the bio of a canon that you no longer wish to play here. Working in the same way as any OC adoption, you may discuss the character accordingly with his or her adopter. You can let them know of any significant plot points that you'd like them to keep when taking over the canon for you.
- *Unlike regular bios, the creator of the AC can choose whether or not to add additional info. Basic mandatory stuff is required, but when it comes to Personality and History, you can leave that a bit more open for change. I'd prefer if you gave us some idea of what your AC is like as a person, but that can be simply a case of a few words. As for History, provide whatever information that is relevant to the AC and the other character he or she is connected to (if applicable), other than that it's up to you.
Adopting an AC
- Let me (and the creator) know that you'd like to adopt the AC by posting in said AC's original biography.
- Once you've decided to claim an AC as your own, please post your personalized biography of him or her as you would any other in the Biography Submissions forum.
- Flesh out the character as much as you can in your new bio. If there hasn't been a lot of details originally provided, then please fill out your own.
- You cannot change information the creator of the AC has provided about him/her. If you find it absolutely necessary to change something (and I mean absolutely), PM the creator first, and ask for his or her permission.
