-=Out of Character=- My Name: My real name is Mia... although I generally go by 'M' or, of course, 'Poppet' That's me... the chick hanging out with Jack.  Where You Found Us: Role-played as Jack on another board with the same lady who started this one. Experience: I've been RPing, in general... for about... ten years now. Account Name: Jack Sparrow -=In Character=- First Name: Jack ~Nickname(s)/Alias(es): His father calls him "Jackie" Last Name: Sparrow ~Prefix: Captain ~Suffix: None Gender: Male Age: Thirty-three. Appearance:  We've all seen Jack. ~Height: 5'11" - 6' ~Build: He's not built like a tank, but there's some muscle. Fit, I s'pose. ~Skin Tone: Tan ~Hair Colour: Brown ~Eye Colour: Brown ~Face Claim: Johnny Depp ~Accent/Phonetics: Not your usual British accent. He slurs and tends to twist words in ways that they aren't usually used. But it's not too much for most any pirate to understand. History: Born in India on 25 October as Jack Teague, known by his parents as "Jackie", the son of an East India Trading Company's seaman Captain Teague (British Pirate Lord of Madagascar) and an Indian maiden (who is preserved as a shrunken head). He was born on the coast of British Colonial India on a pirate ship during a typhoon and was once employed by the East India Trading Company. It was during this time that Jack changed his last name to Sparrow. Sparrow helmed the HMS Wicked Wench, an EITC merchant vessel, performing odd jobs for Cutler Beckett. When he refused to transport slaves and instead freed them in Africa, Beckett sanctioned the torching (and sinking) of the Wicked Wench, and literally branded Jack Sparrow a pirate. Sparrow came to embrace his outlaw status, becoming a successful pirate with no desire to return to life under the command of others. He became one of the Nine Pirate Lords, with his territory being the Caribbean Sea. Later, he petitioned Davy Jones to raise his ship from the ocean floor, and rechristened her the Black Pearl. Jones granted Sparrow captaincy of the ship for thirteen years, after which Jones would own Sparrow's soul for one hundred years. Then one not-so-lucky day, he rescued a damsel! Then, of course, he got arrested for it. A series of events eventually led him back to his Peal.... only to have it taken away YET AGAIN. The damsel he saved, somehow ended up getting him eaten by a giant squid. Some crazy voodoo lady helped them all save him again. (Although the time in the locker probably wasn't good for his already unorthodox manner of thinking.) Then, just when he thought everything was well and good, bloody Barbossa made off with his precious ship again. Luckily, being who he is, Jack managed to... commandeer... the more important parts of the chart. Thusly, that is where this roleplay lies. ~Family Member(s): Captain Teague, Father. Personality: A pirate ahead of his time in many ways, Jack likes to consider himself as the epitome of a free spirit. He swishes his way through life with a slightly odd, but strangely wise attitude. He is perhaps a bit crazy, (it's said he may have been overbaked in the sun while marooned once) but he still is smart enough to survive in a tough world without resorting to force to get what he wants. In fact he once said, "Why fight when you can negotiate?" This leads to some people seeing him as a coward and truth be told Jack is not heroic in the straightforward sense. He watches and reads people and gladly manipulates them for his own ingenious ends. That said, he avoids harming people for even his enemies only get what they truly deserve. Jack has a sense of right that may fluctuate by circumstance in the details, but he still has a sense of honor. When the chips are down Jack will come through, if at all humanly possible, for his friends or the greater good. Jack carries on his person little tokens or souvenirs from places he's been or people he's met. He has a habit of picking things up as he goes along, like the rings he wears. His hat is probably his favorite article of clothing. A compass that shows its user what he wants most in the the world is another crucial possession. ~Quirks: He's a sucker for a pretty lady, or a crate of rum. He has a sense of balance all his own... and not even he's sure what he's doing sometimes. ~Sexual Orientation: Straight Profession: Pirate! Swashbuckler! Buccaneer! ~Rank: Pirate Captain ~Weapons: He carries a silver-plated pistol and a short cutlass. ~Talents: Jack's a good swordfighter, but compared to others he is not the most skillful. He probably wins in the creativity department though, he has used both an oar and a coconut as a weapon. He has a good eye and amazing aim, and is a bit of an acrobat. ~Other: He seems to be even more quirky since his visit to the Locker. But not too dramatically so.
