Out of Character Your Name: Sel. Where You Found Us: RPGD. Experience: I've been roleplaying for seven years, and active on several fandom roleplays. In Character First Name: Elizabeth. ~Nickname(s)/Alias(es): Lizzy, but only to Jack Sparrow. Elizabeth to everyone else. Last Name: Turner (nee Swann). ~Prefix: Mrs., and godforbid you call her anything else. ~Suffix: None that is applicable. Gender: Decidedly female. Age: Twenty three years-old. Appearance: ![]() Elizabeth is slim and lanky, though by no means big boned. The years have given her maturity, and her eyes are a lot more troubled than they used to be. Her hair, which has remained her one vanity, is not cut short, but instead streams down to the middle of her back and curls slightly. Despite being a woman, she does not possess many of the "curves", but is comfortable with her body. Her arms and legs are tanned from the sun, and her face is also tanned. She's not scarred at all, except for some on her hands from the battles that she's participated in, and carries herself with grace and confidence. ~Height: Five feet, five inches. ~Build: Slim, toned, and barely curved (for a woman). ~Skin Tone: Lightly tanned, freckled from the sun, though perhaps once it would have been alabaster. ~Hair Colour: Dark blonde. ~Eye Colour: Hazel brown. ~Face Claim: Keira Knightley. ~Accent/Phonetics: Because she was raised as a gentle lady, she speaks very correctly without any of the slang that you might expect from someone who was once crowned the King of Pirates. She is very particular about her words, and still has a touch of the high class in her pronunciation. She also has an English accent. History: Elizabeth Turner was born Elizabeth Swann to Weatherby Turner, who would later become Governor of Port Royal. Her childhood was spent in court, learning to be a young "noble" lady and she was reared gently as such. She had never known pain or sadness, until her mother passed away at sea. The loss turned the small family of three to an even smaller family of two, and her father (as well as Elizabeth) would never be the same after that point. He accepted the contract of Port Royal in Jamaica, and when she was twelve years old, she made the passage there to live out the rest of her life. This is the first point in her life when Elizabeth meets later to be pirate, Gibbs, and Lieutenant James Norrington, who would be her fiancé at one point, when she turns of age. It is also the first point in her life when she witnesses a pirate attack, presumably by the dread ship, The Black Pearl. She rescues a boy from the wreckage, and steals the pirate medallion upon his neck, fearing that they would kill him if they found that he was a pirate. The boy she rescued was William Turner. Upon reaching Port Royal, she was installed in her mansion that happened to be portside, and given a balcony room overlooking the sea. Very little could be said about the governor's daughter, except for that she was a spirited child, with a love for pirate tales, and sailing. She did not often spend her time as other ladies did - sewing and gossiping. Instead she was given the run of the town, and while her Father required her to be a dutiful daughter in his prescence, he only cared that she was safe with his people. William Turner had been given a place at the local Blacksmith's forge, and the pair became great friends, playing together during the day. Even as their statuses changed, they managed to keep together and always steal some time for each other - they had fallen in love, you see. Neither were in the right position to admit it, however, and they grew farther and farther apart, until the day that Elizabeth turned twenty, and they barely spoke. She resumed her activities as the sole lady of her house, and still wore and thought about the medallion, however did not actively worry. In many ways, it seemed as though Elizabeth Swann was living a charmed life, and something was going to break soon enough. During a ceremony, celebrating James Norrington's promotion to Commodor, she fainted after he proposed marriage and fell into the sea below. She was only saved by the ripple sent out by her medallion, and the fact that Jack Sparrow happened to be trying to steal a ship nearby. That woudl be her first encounter with the rogue "Captain" and not her last. He dragged her out of the water and saved her life, but his status as pirate prompted Norrington to attempt to arrest him, despite his fiancé's protests. Jack made a miraculous escape, and Elizabeth was returned home safely with the medallion. That night, the crew of the Black Pearl attacked Port Royal, having recognized the ripple for what it really was- a sign of one of the Aztec coin's that they were looking for. Despite doing her best to escape capture, she was taken to Captain Barbossa, saved by her small amount of knowledge about the Pirate Code, and the clause that happened to mention "parley". She was taken aboard the Black Pearl where she negotiated with the pirates and managed to secure a cease-fire for her home, though they took her with them when they left. She also gave her name as "Elizabeth Turner", and the pirates took an interest in that as well (surprisingly). Upon being taken to the Isla de Meurta, with Barbossa and his crew, who hoped that she could free them from their curse, the ceremony that they attempted did not work, and she was rescued grudgingly by Will Turner, and taken back to a ship that had previously belonged to the army, and was now under the command of Jack Sparrow. After a quick change of hands, which is as wont to happen with pirates, she was marooned on an island with said man, and spent the entire time trying to convince him to get drunk, so that she could burn all the rum from under her nose. Interestingly enough, she was more than a match for the good captain, and in the morning when he woke from his hangover, the HMS Dauntless rescued them both, and took Elizabeth back to Port Royal, but only after she promised to marry Norrington, to save Will. There was a great battle with Barbossa, which ended in the skeletal crew being released from their curse, and Jack killing his rival captain. Jack Sparrow escaped the hangman's noose at Port Royal, thanks to Elizabeth and Will, and all was looking up for the happy couple when they finally confessed their love (at long last). Jack left Port Royal, Will and Elizabeth were engaged, and all seemed to be looking up (for everyone concerned). On the morning of her would-be wedding to William Turner, a man named Lord Cutler Beckett comes to crash the party - seems no one tipped him off about the festivities. He arrested Elizabeth and Will for their part in letting Jack Sparrow run free, and offered a deal to Will. If he found Jack Sparrow, then Elizabeth would go free. Said bonny lass was then left in prison, seemingly to rot and facing the threat of the gallows, until her love managed to save her life and his own. Presumably, Beckett thought that there would be a lot of weeping to be done there. He did not plan on Weatherby Swann intercepting and attempting to smuggle her back to England, though his henchman intercepted the attempt, Elizabeth escaped and fled Port Royal, after forcing Beckett to sign letters of marque to free Will. She stowed away on a ship as a cabin boy, creating much confusion when her wedding dress surfaced. The ship that she had landed on made port at Tortuga, which conveniently happened to be the last known whereabouts of both Jack Sparrow, and William Turner. (Taking out two birds with one stone, effectively). She also met up with a disgraced Commodor James Norrington, in the very subtle way of knocking him out in a barfight and then taking him with her as she begged Jack to help her find Will and explained about the situation with Beckett. Norrington also came aboard. They set out for the Isla Crueces, to find the deadman's chest and free William from a lifetime of servitude on the Flying Dutchman. There might have been an encounter of flirting between Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann, but she will never say anything of the sort. Once they reach the island, Norrington manages to get to the chest first, right as Will showed up, and despite her joy at seeing him, the three men (Jack, James, and Will) started to fight like children over the chest. Helpless, she was dragged into the fight as well when two other ships, including the Flying Dutchman, all showed up wanting the same chest. There was no lack of excitement, but in the end they made it back to the ship, with James turning coat and heading over to help Beckett. With the fearsome Kraken after them, Elizabeth helps them outrun the Flying Dutchman, and then tried to employ the same tactics, screaming at Jack that he's a coward and then kissing him in an attempt to get him to stay with the ship. He does, and she leaves with Will, though not before her relationship with him is damaged beyond repair. And as these things often do, she was told that they need Jack and was given Hector Barbossa to aid her in the search to get back Jack and presumably save all the pirates from hanging at the hand of Cutler Beckett. Her guilt over effectively "killing" him leads her to go along and from there they head to Singapore. [under construction] ~Family Member(s): Weatherby Swann (deceased) ~Spouse/Fiancé(e): William Turner II. ~Love Interest: ...William Turner. ~Crush: As much as I hate to be repetitive, William Turner. ~Lover: Nothing scandalous or surprising;; William Turner. ~Belle/Beau: I'm going to have to give this one last go - William Turner. Personality: Elizabeth happens to be someone who will do anything in the name of her love. Notice the wording - not for love, but in the name of it. She is dreadfully devoted to one William Turner, and is extremely loyal (despite Jack's best efforts). Having to grow very quickly from a modest young lady to a pirate King, she is a strange mix of honor and absolute desperation for her own cause. Her moral compass can be dreadfully skewed, but in her heart she ultimately has the right idea, but there is some disconnect between there and her head. She's a smart young-lady, who doesn't like to be called anything but a lady, and switches about between loving pirates, and hating that she loves them. Her family and those she loves are the ones who mean the most to her, and she will do anything to help and save them, despite there being nothing for her to do. Life has taught her a lot about being wary of people and their own agenda's. Because people have underestimated her because of her sex, she now carries as many big and deadly weapons as she can, as a way of compensating and warning them to be wary of her. To those she hates, beware. She has rage like any female, and happens to posess very little self-control, despite being gently raised. ~Quirks: Deathly afraid of typical "female" devices (namely corsets). Dislikes being forced to give up weapons, and happens to carry at least one dagger with her at all times. ~Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual. Profession: Currently unemployed, though she has often served as a Captain. ~Rank: Captain and (former or current) Pirate King. ~Weapons: A handy cutlass, as well as a slew of daggers that she often employs. ~Talents: Elizabeth Turner has a terrible knack for getting herself into trouble, with the entire "damsel in distress" role that she's often forced to play. However, she also has a very good way with getting herself out of trouble, and rallying others to her cause, and saving her own life in the process. ~Other: Does not react well when put in a corset. That, coupled with surprise, can have disasterous results. Secret Word: Hello Poppet. |
