Captain Mary Trix
Out of Character

Your Name: Rena
Experience: About a year or so, I'm still a newbie :(

In Character

~First Name: Bellatrix Anne Webb
~Nickname(s)/Alias(es): Bella, Trix
Last Name:
~Prefix: Mrs (widowed)
Gender: Female
Age: 29yrd

Appearance:
Posted Image
Standing at 5'3 in a normal stance Trix is anything but intimidating, in fact she's almost annoyingly dainty. Her frame is slim and athletic while her hands and feet are oddly small for even a grown woman. However, it does prove to come in handy when trying to be swift and graceful in a fight. Her skin is pale, pasty even, due to her heritage and lack of years out in the Caribbean seas. The only thing that even begins to reflects her rough interior is the many scars she has. The largest being the whip marks along her upper back, the blade scar on her left thigh and a rather nasty one across her left shoulder, which she could only assume is from the ship wreck years earlier since she has no memory of receiving it. Her hair is dark brown curling frustratingly to her mid-back and her eyes are a dirty hazel. She also has her ears pierced, one in one ear, and another in the other ear. As for attire Trix prefers the finer thing, for show mainly, but also material that she can move easily in if ever caught in battle. Mainly she wears thigh high broken in boots, breeches, loose fitted corsets, an under shirt, a red and furred coat (if need be), and her captains hat. Her weapons are usually tied and belted to her side as well as hidden in her boots.

~Height: 5'3 (without boots)/ 5'5 (with boots)
~Build: Mainly Athletic but irritatingly small
~Skin Tone: Caucasian, Pale
~Hair Color: Dark Brown
~Eye Color: Hazel
~Face Claim: Kate Beckinsale
~Accent/Phonetics: Trix does have a strange blend of Scottish and English in her accent. So much so that sometimes it's very difficult to understand her, which she often takes advantage of in negotiations or 'deals'.

History: Bellatrix Anne Harding was born by the seas of Ireland to William and Arabella Harding. William and Arabella had married young and as such were not fully set in life. William was a sailor while Arabella made and sold trinkets in town. Bellatrix, or Bella, had a happy childhood. Her early years were spent with her mother on the seashore or hearing adventures with her father when he'd come home. At times he'd even take her aboard the ship claiming she was destine to help him captain it one day despite her position as a girl and his as a no one sailor. When Bella was eight however her father was lost at sea. It devastated her and what was worse her mother, who even she could see was beautiful beside Bella's own plain exterior, had many suitors willing to 'help' her grieve. It wasn't until a wealthy man from England, who offered her a shop of her own in England to sell her trinkets if she would marry him, that she agreed. Bella was ten when she gave her the news. The next year was hell for Bella, she hated London and she hated England. Her only escape was her library of books, all on adventures and pirates of the sea. Of course, Bella's 'new father' hated her obsession with the sea and her dreams of voyage claiming they were 'un-lady like" and "Barbaric". He tried in vain to teach her proper behavior but soon let up when he got news that Arabella was pregnant. All hopes were that it was a boy to carry on the name and distract from the embarrassment that was 'Bellatrix'. Bella just hoped for a playmate, in which all hopes were made life just shy of Bella's twelfth birthday. It was a boy and, as the years went by, proved to be a worthy friend to Bella. She did notice that he was favored though and felt a strange distance between them due to their different treatment at home. Even more the black sheep as time went by Bella noticed as her sixteenth birthday came and went an odd number of male guest kept visiting the manor. She later realized it was her stepfather's way of displaying her as a 'for sale' product to any potential future husbands. Something she learned a little to late when an older gentleman, well into his forties, announced his engagement to her. She felt ill during the whole process and even vomited during her dress fitting. Bella soon learned that she had not only lucked out but also felt blessed that she had been married off to Captain Nicholas Webb of the British Navy, instead of some of the Gits and abusive men she could have been given to. Despite their age difference he had proven to be a exciting and kind, almost fatherly, man. After a few years to adjust to her new life it had been easy for her to fall in love with him. He even took her to sea to travel with him during less dangerous times and taught her how to fight. For that she had nearly tackled him in her excitement. He allowed her freedom to continue her studies, as long as she kept up her wifely duties, and even told her tales of piracy and adventure. Al though he would always scold her for her curiosity of them with an amused glint in his eyes. When Bella was nineteen the Captain was offered a position as Commodore in the Swan Islands. He took it with her support and sailed them through the Caribbean sea. The weather was harsh however and their ship was wrecked. Bella survived, although she couldn't begin to tell you how, and woke up on a merchant ship heading for Tortuga. She had no signs of Nicholas and the sailors told her they weren't able to find any one else alive. It took her days to register this due to her state and barely had time to mourn when the ship thrusted her into Tortuga's dock. She waited for a while in the hopes that Nicholas would come but when he didn't she gave into the rough nature of Tortuga. She earned her place by ways of wit and sword skill onto a pirates ship, realizing she needed to start a new life. She even changed her nickname dropping 'Bella' for 'Trix'. Trix stayed aboard the 'Nymph' for several years studying her trade quietly from underneath a sailors hat and boyishly cut hair. She gained the Captains trust soon enough and slowly began to rise in rank until she was his First Mate. She took her position very seriously and gave her full loyalty to him, well as much loyalty as a pirate can give, and even fought rather weakly with him in a losing battle before fleeing when she realized he had been shot. It had been for gold, it was always for gold, and she had taken her place as Captain aboard the Nymph by payment of gold to the crew for not apposing her. Of course her legendary temper and cold exterior helped in their silence, the gold was more to ease their comfort in the fact that they now knew she was a woman. Something they had not been too happy to acknowledge at first and some had even tasted her whip for rebelling against. Trix quickly learned the robes of being a Captain and changed her name to fit her new position 'Captain Mary Trix'. She still battles occasionally with her crew for dominance but wins out in the end with either punishment or execution, if need be. A loyal crew is just so hard to come by these days but she figures there are always more out there to replace the ones she had to gun down.

~Family Member(s): Father- William Harding, Deceased/ Step Father- Samuel Boswell, 50yrd/ Mother- Arabella Boswell, 46yrd / Half Brother- Cyrus Boswell, 17yrd
~Spouse/Fiancé(e): Nicholas Webb, Deceased
~Love Interest: Danger, The Rush Of Self-Destructing
~Lover: The Nemesis (Her Ship)
~Belle/Beau: The Sea

Personality: Trix had always been a fearless and cunning soul. However, in her younger years she had been less cold in her approach to her harsher nature in life. She had been more easy to smile and more passionate in her ways, even compassionate at times. She could be gentle, loving and even happy though always controlled or cautious in her reactions. Now, Trix in whole, is simply cold and calculated. Her heart has been slowly iced over by the years, leaving behind a wiser but more stone hearted woman. She rarely shows emotions unless it benefits her and even rarer feels them. Choosing intelligence and cruelty over brute force and compassion Trix is a haunted woman within herself. She deceives as easily as she walks and holds a fine fascination for things like seduction, pain and dominance. Her largest prejudice is against the Royal Navy and the Nobles, viewing them as weak or simply amusement. Her strongest desires are for adventure and treasure, because adventure oddly enough cost money and the crew is always more chipper with rubies in their pockets. She does have a lot of rage in her that she doesn't show though and can get very violent at times without warning. However, Trix has never been seen to cry. Of course, she has but she is very careful and secret about where or when she allows it. Never show emotion, that is her creed.

~Quirks: Trix tends to physically wince when a strong emotions rolls over her, She can be known to talk very cautiously and quietly, almost whispering, and when alone can be seen moving her hands around as if conducting a symphony (a habit that formed when she began reciting the British Symphonies she had heard as a child to keep herself sane during her transformation from Commodore's wife to Pirate).

~Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

~Profession: Pirate
~Rank: Captain.
~Weapons: (on hand) A cutlass, two silver flintlocks, and a set of daggers. (off hand) An additional set of daggers, a whip, a boarding Axe, Another additional flintlock pistol.
~Talents: Trix is a skill fighter, especially with a cutlass and whip. She is a good commander and extremely cunning for a pirate. It doesn't hurt that little frightens her, she cares deeply for her ship and is conscious of her crew's needs.

~Other: She would like to apologize for the EXTREMELY long history she had me tell. I got into it...:Stares at the floor in shame:. Also if you have any advice or criticism for unskilled writing I wouldn't throw things at you for voicing them, in fact I'd thank you XD.

Goodness me! Long indeed, but a thrilling read.

Unfortunately, you've only got one of the two secret words! Though we can easily fix this with a simple question.... did you read the ever-helpful 'Death To Mary Sue' thread? If so, you're just a 'yes' away from acceptance. :)

Also, your writing is great, just a few teeny typos I'd noticed here and there. The only solution for that is proof-reading over your own stuff before submitting it. Though it wasn't anything that disturbed the reading, and seeing as I can't even remember -where- the typos were, they must have not been that big of a deal, hm? :D
