I have started recruiting! B-)

“Canada—the non–crappy Alliance!”

Canada is a long standing player–created region in the first NS game (since 2003). Canada has always welcomed nations from all over the world and will continue to do so.

NS2 Canada will be an organized and vibrant democracy.

Join the Canada alliance in the beginning and help create NS2 Canada into something spectacular!

Does this mean only democracies are welcome?

I would like to see a strong recommendation to exceed minimum levels of civil rights and political freedoms.

I'm not sure how we will work it here Dendro Verde. Right now I'm assuming that it will be the same as we work it in NS Canada. I'm also not sure if you are familiar with the first NS game and how to exactly answer your concerns.

Many nations located in NS Canada are not democracies. If you click on a few of them you will find Anarchy, Iron Fist Consumerists, Capitalist Paradise, etc...

Since it would be a lot of work to check all nations (271) and make sure they are all some sort of democracy, or check their levels of civil rights and political freedoms.. (and kick them if they are not) All nations basically can freely govern their nation, good or bad. It all depends on how you answer your issues.

Basically by joining Canada and signing up on the forum (requesting citizenship) you are agreeing to abide by The Canadian Constitution and follow the laws and the regulations posted (which we have yet to create here) I've posted the NS Canada constitution so others can view that it is a democratic process in NS Canada. Of course I am looking forward to creating a democratic process here also. (Hopefully it can work in a war oriented game)

I won't ally with dictators even if they are prepared to follow democratic principles on the international arena. It would be hypocracy.

Then I wish you well because in a 'war game' most alliances will be dictatorships to the core. In-game and on their offsite forums.

If this war system pans out to be similar to CyberNations, a government structure change will be needed to play the game successfully.

http://www.cybernations.net/about_topics.asp#Government_Type

If you lose a war you will be in anarchy. Or how about the nation at war that needs to be an Communist nation to give them 8% Soldiers Efficiency, +5% Land Area, -2% Military Upkeep, and +10% Attack Spy Strength in order to win the war?

So does Canada kick every nation that lost a war while fighting for democracy (anarchy)? And also kick out every nation that is set to Communist even if they need to be in order to win the war they are fighting?

Right now we don't know how the war system is going to work, we don't know how our government stance will play into the game, so who is to say it is a benefit for their in-game nation to be some sort of democracy at all times?

Basically we will not know until the war system arrives.

Like you, I dont know what to expect from this game when it comes to war. If it's something like real life, democratic nations have the bravest and most motivated soldiers from what I've learned. And as I wrote in another thread, I have no problem with switching from democracy to autocracy temporary when it's wartime. Efficient or not, I prefer democracy for moral reasons. I'm a moralist. Can't help it.
