Nice forums there CSD... Well, as Nosyt mentioned earlier, I am coming here with a presentation for you. Before I begin, I must note, that I always was pro-alliance, when it came to the CSD, whether it was the CPP, or the DAL I was in. Currently, I am a member of the DAL and I'm happy here, and I hope this will be a start for a fruitful official relationship between our two parties, which however I feel should be discussed with the DAL leadership. Now, let me begin. I wish to run in the July 09 elections for Country President on behalf of the DAL and the CSD. This speech of sorts, has been posted on both forums.

Quote:

Many of you, might ask, why? My answer, is that I had a dream. Not one of those Luther King dreams though. It was way more egoistic. Since I got involved in debates, since I started understanding and analysing the political scene in my home country, I knew, I want to be out there, in that parliament building.

However, in real world, this dream is miles away, and I know it. The closest I can get to real politics, are school council elections, which is not satisfiyng for me. However, with eRepublik, new opportunities came along. With the only requirement for power being one thing. Commitment. Commitment to a cause, virtual or real, that defines Us politically, and socially. And if there's one thing I can say about my eRep life so far, is that I am committed to Canada, in a similar way to the one, I'm committed to Poland in real life. And I think I've been proving it, time and time again, writing Congressional Acts, working in one of the most time consuming eCanadian Ministries, the Ministry of Immigration, and now, starting my work as Minister of Justice. I have done all that for one reason, I knew it's for the good of the people, even if their good was just a virtual number of dollars, or the ability to participate in a virtual country, I knew that it brought them some satisfaction.

I have been thinking about this candidature for a long time now. Knowing, I will have to write this someday, only wondering, when will that day come. Finally, I feel the right day has came for me to do this. I not only feel that I am capable of taking on the Presidential burden, I simply know it. I have spent nearly 6 months on this game, learning something new about it everyday, and now the time has came to use this knowledge while obtaining the highest possible honour, yet simultaneously the heaviest possible burden for any eRepublikan to carry.

So, fellow party members, this vote might be decisive for the future of Canada, the same as the one that I've observed one month ago, when Jacobi was elected for CPP nominee, winning with Derakor. What would've happened, if the vote would've gone the other way? Who would be our President now? Would the DAL be as large as it is, if it wasn't supported by the President? Who knows, what happens next. It's up to you.

As for my platform, I believe, that if you elect me as the DAL Candidate, We should build it together, as I feel that I should ensure that everyone has an influence on what their candidate represents. However, I myself will present you with my priorities for my term.

I feel, that one of our priorities should be ensuring, that Canada doesn't jump with reforms. I'm not a conservative in any way, however I do believe that evolution, outweights a revolution. Canada should be reformed gradually, step by step, ministry by ministry, law by law. Changes have to come, but they can not ever threathen the stability of our country. It's very important, that We cover every base, before making a big step, to ensure We do not step into a trap. This should be our policy for every reform. It's better to be safe than sorry, and that's the truth.

Jacobi has tried to introduce accountability, with, I must say, moderate success. One of the reasons might me the fact, that he didn't create appropriate methods to ensure this. I believe, a majority of accountability, rests in the law, and I would like to gradually introduce laws that would ensure that no powerstruggles will occur anywhere in the government, and that every single Cabinet member will be accountable not only to the PM, but also to congress.

I feel that these general government issues will provide a great base for a future platform, which I hope to develop with all of you in the next days, resulting in a platform created by all of Us, CSDers, and DALers, after all I I believe that the it's "I'm your candidate" not "You are my supporters" I'm open for anything you might suggest, because, I want to create this country together with you.

If you have any questions, ask away.

And here's a sneak peak at the first version of my Cabinet:
Quote:

Deputy Prime Ministers - marcchelala & Derek Harland. One thing I liked about Alex Rearden's Cabinet were the two dPM's, he posted. One of them even remains the same on my Cabinet list. Marcchelala is one of the most experienced eCanadians you'll ever find, holding God only knows how many posts, and doing a great job entertaining Canada with Quick News Broadcasts, and such, and I think after the months, despite being my adversary in these elections, I feel obliged to reward him for all that he has done for our eCountry. On the other hand, We have a counterweight. The relatively new Derek Harland, with fresh ideas and insight. Both of these guys are perfect dPM material.

Minister of Defence - Derakor. Through his last term as Jacobi's Minister of Defence (as per my suggestion, I might add) he has proven his worth, by being both a great advisor, and minister, bringing Congress one of the better budgets I've ever seen.

Minister of Foreign Affairs - Nosyt. Nosyt has been a productive member of eCanada lately. The congressman from Northwest Territories, and Party President of the Canadian Social Democrats is one of the best candidates I can think of, to take on marcch's legacy.

Minister of Finance - Dean22. This is probably where the opposition is going to kill me for posting him. Despite his dark and unclear past, Dean has proven his worth to me, time and time again, ultimately resulting in his tax reform. Say what you want, he deserves it.

Minister of Immigration - Citizen B. If only Citizen B can bring to eCanada what he brought to the DAL, with his great recruitment strategy, I think he will be the only logical choice for my succesor at the Ministry of Immigration. Period.

Minister of Industries - TBA

Minister of Communication - dabman. I must say, that dabman has impressed me throughout this term, working hard and helping eCanadians know more about their government and their eCountry. I say, keep it up, dabman!

Director of the CSIS - Volsung. Doing a great job, while marcchelala was in charge, Volsung continously sacrifices his time, building a case against Augustus Baldwin and COBRA.

Minister of Justice - Thordan. After leaving the CSIS to become Deputy Attorney General, Thordan proved he has lawyer instincts, good interpretative skills, and a ability to become one of our top legal minds.

Minister of Health & Social Service - Emilio Sanchez. Emilio is by far one of the most active eCanadians, and one of the most experienced. The CHS is his baby, which I honestly dare not take away from him. Keep up the good work, Emilio!

Director of the Office Francophone - Eldorino. Eldorino is the obvious choice for this post. Being one of the most active Francophones, I had the chance to work with him more than a few times, and I feel, that he is perfect for the job.

Auditor General - petz. Petz has been chosen by Jacobi for the same reason I am choosing him. His logic, and his ability to analyse things from a different angle, are very rare on eRepublik. That's why, I say he should stay.

This Cabinet is pretty close to what I want to achieve in the end, however I still have to choose a Minister of Industries. As for Deputies, all Ministers will have freedom in choosing them.

Nicely done, I like it. I found it easy to read which is good. The only thing is that I think you really have to address more important topics to the average canadian. Just put a little more to back up what you want to do and I will support you

As for what I want to do for the average Canadian:

Immigration
Similarly to Bruck I want to get Citizens through real Canadian Forums, and such. That is how Poland got it's baby boom, by advertising on the Polish digg, news-sites and similar. However, what I also want to do, is to fully use the potential of the Welcoming Program established by me. Because of the forum changes I wasn't able to use it fully, so after my promotion to Minister of Justice, it will be handled by the new Minister of Immigration, however, whether elected or not, I will be happy to assist him. Coming back to the point, I wish to "snatch" some citizens from other countries, giving them moving tickets to Canada. The whole plan was laid out in the Immigration Reform, and I think it is pretty good (together with the Buddy System) and I hope to continue it.

Finances
As for Finances, I believe that choosing Dean22 as my Minister of Finance is a obvious showing, of where I wish to go with my Financial policies. I believe his reforms will do well in Canada, however they need to be observed. If they hurt the average Canadian too much, it will show, that they will need to be changed, because, I believe that the Canadians are the most important ones.

Foreign Affairs
I think it is obvious that every single one of the Presidential Candidates, wants to complete the FORTIS Alliance, and so do I. I do however, also believe that We should restart diplomatic talks with Sweden and Poland, to ensure that our Alliances are not hurt because of the German-Swedish and German-Polish conflicts. With Sweden's military power, and Poland's great baby-boom, I think it's obvious that they should not be out of our picture. Of course, this doesn't mean that I will ignore new Countries. I feel that a diplomat should be sent to every country created as soon as possible. I want Us to be the first to contact them, the first ones to be friendly. Why? Because it gives a good first impression, and raises our chances for allying ourselves with the particular country in the future.

Communication

I think it is very important that the government communicates with it's citizens. I think that Jacobi's weekly addresses were a great thing, that I wish to continue. I also feel, that the Cabinet Ministers themselves, should be more medial, with the Ministry of Communication preparing press conferences for single Ministers at their request. After all, I do not want to take credit for a ministers work. I believe in a Council of Ministers, not a group of advisors. Furthermore, I would like the Ministry of Communication to report about any upcoming training war, and any on-going battle in which Canadians can participate in.

Accountability

I believe, that every single Minister should be a subject to Congressional Control, and if needed impeachment. As I stated many times in Congress, while discussing the separation of the Head of State from the Head of Government, I believe in spreading the power around, instead of combining it in one person. I will also start using Cabinet as a Council, which means any big decision will be up to Senior Cabinet vote, as I believe, despite being responsible for only one portion of the Canadian Government, every Cabinet member is a skilled and intelligent person, that should have their say in any issue.

There you go. And that's just the start :)

Oh, and by the way, I just talked to the DAL leadership, and they are willing to stop recruiting from the CSD. I also would like to apologise on behalf of the leadership for doing so. :)
