By books, I mean novels, not manga So, I've recently started reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and I'm obsessed with it, LOL. My friend got me into paranormal romance...but it's really good I also the like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series by Ann Brashares. I love how it's different stories in the same setting. Interesting ![]() I don't really like Harry Potter that much. The movies are okay but I guess I'm just too lazy to read it. Books that aren't series would be like "Marley & Me" by John Grogan, a sort of biography on the author's life during his dog's life. Really good, sad at times, funny at times, just great. "To Kill a Mockingbird", a classic, a pretty good book, not as boring as others may think. There are some others but I can't remember. What about y'all? (<- you can so tell I'm from Texas) |

I havent found good books for a long time... Dies the Fire series - A postapocalypse series, in which an apocalypse occurs where most technology has been rendered useless Halo books - They are pretty good, even if they are based off a video game Eragon Inheritance CYCLE - yes it is four books now, the movies do no justice. Discworld - Terry Pratchett writes satirical books making fun of everything. more to come if I can remember them... |

In terms of books, His Dark Materials <------ Best books ever. Fantasy, but really unique and beautifully written. AM3692, you mention Discworld, have you ever read Good Omens? It's a book that Terry Pratchett wrote with Neil Gaiman, parodying the apocalypse. It's the funniest book ever. I finished A Tale of Two Cities last month. The first half was really tedious, but then in the last bits everything comes together and the book becomes awesome. I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo right now. It's really long, but so far it's been great. Definitely agree on To Kill a Mockingbird. I read that back in eighth grade and I loved every page. And, of course, Harry Potter holds a special place in my heart. |

Good Omens? haha loved it! Currently reading the Demonata series. It is... interesting. TKAM was good and I hated reading Tales of Two Cities last year. At first it was dull, but it turned out good in the end. Tedious? Try reading the The Feud That Sparked the Renaissance... ugh... >_< European History AP sucks... |

Haha, noooo thank you. Dickens was plenty , I think I filled my tedium quota. Yeah, that's the thing with A Tale. At first it's really dull and boring and seemingly aimless, and he keeps introducing pointless characters, but then in the last 70 pages all of a sudden it all makes sense and every minor detail is really important. That's what I really liked about it. Hmm, a friend of mine from Cali is taking AP European History. She basically compares it to a black hole that sucks her soul into nothingness. I do not envy you guys. |
