Hey, Marc mentioned that we can do some off screen gameplay on the website to speed up what is going on when we get together. This will be especially important if Richard and now Tim (hopeful new guy) stick around. It may involve some 'honor code' dice roll/proficiency checks, and will not involve combat. Here are some examples, which I intend to do for this upcoming night: The group is congregating and arriving one by one at the Red Roof Inn. Malcom will socialize with people as they come in with the following purposes: 1) Encouraging the populace 2) Discerning more information about the mysteries 3) Finding out if any of them have any Norse contacts and/or sensitivities that are strong. 4) Finding out if any speak Norse. When Malcom runs into any of our group, he will share the 'rumors' that he has yet to pass on, including that some people saw a metalic figure (four legged, I believe) running/jumping high up on the roof tops the night of the last murder.) Also, Malcom would like to see if he can get a feel from the poet what his poetry will be about and what kind of songs would compliment them. If the poet is reluctant to share what it is, Malcom will use a combination of his charisma and fast talk abilities (to be rolled by Marc b/c my dice ain't here). Now, what I think we should expect from here, is that Marc will either pm me the information I glean from the attendees and the Poet so that I have the information when we start on Saturday. See how it works? Hopefully that will speed stuff up. |

I like it. Here goes: When Gideon arrives, he quickly meets with Malcom on the sly, and expresses a strange discomfort in his surroundings-- not that he notices anything dangerous in particular, but just a feeling of malaise over the idea of spending time at a poetry reading when he could be tracking down that necromancer or the killer in this town. After Malcom and Gideon exchange info, Gideon is constantly using detect evil and seeing if he notices anything. (Gideon's intelligence is 14. I asked a co-worker to give me a random number between one and twenty, and she told me 14, so I guess this is another one of those "tie goes to the DM" situations as to whether Gideon notices anything. The detect evil would work within 40 feet, so I think I should know that... but I'll just say that Gideon wasn't particularly observant unless he gets a detect evil hit.)
