Denouement of Reolus the Wise

A call for help from the North, invaders have been apprised,
So enter and come forth, the mighty Reolus the Wise.
Reolus, oh Reolus, we welcome your great sword,
And offer thanks of your great power to our coming LORD.

The sojourn of Reolus, and his former squire,
Took him to the forest, a mournful wooden mire.
The two travelled through the darkness, upon the wooden path,
When thirteen men of the North with dark intent attacked.

Reolus, oh Reolus, we welcome your great sword,
And offer thanks of your great power to our coming LORD.

One by one they fell before his godly strength,
They trembled at his blows, and died at his sword’s length.
They trembled afore his horse, and fell before his blow,
Forever they would remember, and his power they would know.

Reolus, oh Reolus, we welcome your great sword,
And offer thanks of your great power to our coming LORD.

As the battle did wear on, misfortune came to pass.
And an errant blow slipped by his armor, and ended his life fast.
He fell before an axe wielded by this northern force,
An vengeance was passed to his former squire to place upon the Norse.

Reolus, oh Reolus, your battles are but done,
And we will sing your praises, until our LORD dost come.

I'm mentally working on a new one, but I'll leave it for a surprise,
to follow up the tale of Reolus the Wise...

The use of "denouement", which only 2% of the US population understands, certifies that you, nay, all of us, have moved squarely into the realm of "supernerdom".

Denouement is, like, one of my favorite words. I won't admit that I have to spell check it everytime I write it though.

Birth of a Hero

1) A young orphan was taken underneath the care
Of God's house at an early age.
The only home he'd ever know was found there
And God with his whole heart he engaged.

He never sought to be a hero -
Never claimed glory for his own
For where 'ere he was sent he would go
And on angel's wings this young man had flown.

2) The Great Knight Reolus led this man
And instructed his eager mind
He followed in God's Master Plan
And in Reolus' wake you'd find

A boy who'd never seek to be a hero,
And never claim any glory for his own.
Where God and master sent him, he would go
And become a man as he served until grown.

3) The great Reolus led this man from deed to deed
And he served contently under his wings.
But one unlucky day an axe struck with speed
And life would leave Reolus to feel death's sting -

And left behind this man who'd never sought to be a hero,
From under Reolus' care he now rose to stand alone.
the mantle of vengeance was the trail to undergo,
And complete the harvest that his lord had sown.

4) Two long battles had nearly slain this young man.
A giant Norseman roared toward him o'er the plains.
'Till the Norseman's head was skewered upon the span
Of this man's lance - Gideon's his name!

He never sought to cast himself a hero!
He turned glory aside as he grew from boy to man.
Humbly he will give himself and guard and serve and go,
And live on the blade of the sword of the Master's Plan.

And live on the blade of the sword of Our Master's Plan.

Gideon is humbled and honored.

Bill is nauseated and slightly disturbed.

I'm deciding whether I should really do a Caius one or not. The problem is that it would probably be insincere on Malcom's behalf, and I want him to appear sincere to everyone.

Thus far, other than philisophical differences and poor communication, Malcom has recieved a moderate amount of tension from Caius that has no objective reasoning behind it - meaning what the heck did Malcom do to tick you off, Mr. Goody Goody?

Malcom is not beyond duplicity, but the duplicity would be for what he believes is the good of the group. And if he appears to be disingenuine, then that would wreck his abilities to help the group using his unique perspective.

First off

"Gideon is humbled and honored.

Bill is nauseated and slightly disturbed."

LoL

I think Caius is just super protective over magical items that the church is cautious about letting out and because Malcom isn't a priest of church knight isn't sure how he fits in. They both also have different ways of handling things. And It was Caius who suggested that Gideon talk to him and give him the benefit of the doubt before we jumped to too many conclusions, though to be honest that was only after he "did not sense evil from him"

I think the future will have some interesting interplay between everybody.

hehee, I look forward to it. I am planning on some subtle passive aggressive interactions between the two. Malcom the Manipulator will come into play.

I haven't said this clearly, but I like how you are playing Caius, Eric. It works very well, and makes the group more interesting. I plan on building up some tension here and there, and hopefully doing it in a manner that will eventually lead minimally to mutual respect.
