I might have time to binge post next week when Christmas break starts.

What I'm watching:

Sun
NCIS: LA - Mindless watch while doing stuff...
Madame Secretary - <3

Mon
The Gifted - Like it a lot better than Marvel's Inhumans

Tues
NCIS - Sometimes, while falling asleep; never rewind if I do.
Keven (probably) Saves the World - <3 but very flawed.

Wed
Survivor - A very good season this time.
SEAL Team- Better than expected, better than the NCIS stuff. <3 Boreanaz in a different role for him.
Designated Survivor - May drop this, I don't mind unrealistic, but plots are tedious

Thu
Supernatural - Still love this a lot, despite wacky, ridiculous plots.
Big Bang - getting tired and old...
Thinking of binge watching Orville and catching up there - Anyone watching that?

Fri
Agents of SHIELD - Still very good.
Hawaii 5-0 - Intermittently, because I <3 Queen Lili'oukalani. Not that the connection is anything except in my mind. :P

Interesting. I'm enjoying this season but I feel like a lot of the kids at PreTV are bored with it. I don't hate Ben or Chrissy, so maybe that helps, but I can't say that I like any of them enough to be rooting for a win. Sad to see Lauren shoot herself in the foot like that.

Mr Robot has been much improved over last season and I might even go as far as to say that I look forward to each new episode.

For as much as I love how they integrate all of the philosophy into The Good Place, I felt relatively bored with the first half of S2.

Seems like the feast of good shows we had a couple years ago is turning into a famine. I've even considered re-watching BSG, as SyFy ran a marathon of S1 one day in early November.

I'm still watching BBT but agree it isn't as good. Finishing out Major Crimes out of loyalty. Watching Mom with mixed feelings. Love the predominately female cast and focus on women's relationships plus struggles with addiction are good and not overly heavy. Like Life in Pieces well enough but any focus on any one story would make me run. This is Us is wonderful. Am less enthusiastic about Vikings. I think I'm just finding other ways to spend my time. Unfortunately not seeing an increase in productivity but in general am less interested in screens.

Just wanted to add: I think that the reason that This Is Us resonates with so many people is that it isn't dark or cynical and doesn't try too hard to be so clever--while remaining smart and somewhat realistic--and hopeful, with heart and soul. Sure, it's also sentimental and idealistic but I think we've indulged our dark fantasies long enough, especially given how dark our political reality seems to be these days. We need hope, and family coming together even if we are all very different and disagree and have years of buried resentments and hurts.

^^Totally agree. Perfectly stated.

I like this season of Survivor though I'm also not rooting for anyone particularly. I have enjoyed most of the gamesmanship even among "alliances".

I didnt pick up any new shows this season and dont feel like i missed out. I'm glad to have a less full DVR and a little more free time for other stuff.

We are recording son regular shows but are way behind watching them because I don't find them fairy interesting and only watch them while we are puttering around or having dinner. Those are Madam Secretary NCIS and bull. I have given up on designated survivor it's just too boring.

I should have added, that's just network TV.

I am watching This Is Us too, but I get somewhat annoyed with the flashback stuff, even though I like MV.

Matt can't handle the flash back stuff. He finds it too disconcerting.

Are you watching Vikings? Crown?

About to give up on Designated Survivor too, i have a feeling it won't be back for another season.

The Good Place was all over the place and i didn't enjoy it as much as the first season

Still really like Kevin probably saves the world, but getting a little too silly, hope they turn it around

This is Us is soapy and well written, but hope they lighten it up some next season it's a little too depressing for me.

I haven't watched the S4 Vikings season. I meant to binge it over the summer but never did. I think the long scope of the time passage, and knowing Ragnar's fate for S4 put a damper on my viewing. And now S5 has already started. I think this is another show that would have benefited from shorter seasons.

I just binged all of The Crown's S2 this weekend. :D

I'm also ready to drop Designated Survivor.

We are just watching Netflix mostly and I will post under that subject. We were watching good behavior and I have some recorded however it just seemed the show Was becoming redundant and soapy

I have 4 episodes of Designated Survivor on the DVR and I'm in no hurry to watch them. A show that started with a lot of promise has seriously fallen off the cliff.

I have not quit watching tv. But I am way, way behind on nearly everything. Depression and a diminished attention span and then the horrors of having to move and trying to find a place and then moving in with my Mom and then doing it all by myself and then...

I'm going to try to get that 'avid tv watcher' aspect of myself back soon.

I haven't yet seen the ends of Rectify or The Leftovers and I LOVE those shows...

I wanna watch the final seasons of Bates Motel and Orphan Black (how was it?) and Broadchurch and Halt and Catch Fire and Bloodline and I didn't watch the Top of the Lake follow-up or the second seasons of Humans or Preacher and Into the Badlands and I had three episodes left of Season 2 of Mr. Robot and I never started watching The Good Place or Westworld or Big Little Lies or The Deuce or Better Things or over a dozen Netflix shows I know I'll like... and man, I wanna see some of the hulu and Amazon shows, and

I have been pretty broken, so I fell behind.

I will be doing a lot of HBO/Showtime/Netflix watching in the near future. I won't be dvr-ing things at home much, because Mom records a lot, and I don't want her to have to start grabbing too much for me, too.

The things I've kept up with aren't even necessarily 'favorites'... most of them just required less... attention? Anyway.

I AM 'current' on...

Saturday Night Live.
Bill Maher.
Survivor - Okay season.
Grey's Anatomy - Have been enjoying a lot.
Scandal - Glad it's coming to a close, but it's been very enjoyable.
How to Get Away with Murder - Crazy show.
The Walking Dead - So-so first half of the season - and Fear TWD (which was pretty good, last go-around).
Nashville - Glad it got a second life, but fine with it ending after next season, too.

I watched all of American Horror Story 7 (Cult).

I'm just two behind on This is Us, so that's an easy catch-up over Christmas. Superstore, also, maybe just one or two.

I watched one or two of Shameless, but know I have more to watch now, but I'm going to do that right away, and also the latest season of Ray Donovan, of which I only saw the premiere... and I'm maybe four or five behind on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver...

Anxious to watch the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm (even though Sepinwall didn't like it).

Sigh.

I gave up on the walking dead when Jeffrey Dean Morgan became a regular. I can't stand to look at him for some reason and the role he was playing with disgusting. I barely made it through the governor and then I hoped it would get better but it just got worse.

Now I understand they are killing off Carl. I never could stand the kid so I wouldn't care but II know some people really p***** off.

Also Norm Reebus Looks as if hes part of the cast even in real life. He looks like he needs a bath all of the time. I can't believe they have this show with him and Jeffrey king Morgan and people actually watch it.

I like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I think he's a good actor. Agree Negan is disgusting.

Agree Norman Reedus is scuzzy-looking, but I like him as Daryl. I never really understood the cult popularity of The Boondock Saints, though. Pretty forgettable little movie, but there are people that love it a lot...

Carl's impending doom is interesting.

I know you also quit watching FearTWD, but it was fun (I know you loved Deadwood) to see Dayton Callie and Kim Dickens together in the first half of Season 3, and Ray McKinnon turned up towards the end as a bad guy, and will probably be around next season, too.

Top of the Lake:China Girl was pretty good, and it was fun watching Gwendoline Christie play a character so different from Brienne of Tarth. I was mostly happy with S2 of Preacher but read so many complaints on AVClub, to the point that I wondered if the show might not return. I didn't make it through S2 of Into the Badlands.

Started The Crown the other night, which will be my next project. A bit sad the Mr Robot's season ends tonight. All I will have left is my Trash TV, other than NetFlix.

If you want something that is pretty trashy but with a good cast, try Star, with Queen Latifa and Benjamin Bratt. Guests have included Lenny Kravitz and Naomi Campbell. Sometimes Paris Jackson.

I probably should have said "Reality" TV. I'm addicted to the Housewives shows on Bravo, and I'll watch some of their other shows if I can't find anything else.

Did you watch Happy on SyFy, Krystal? I know you've watched some of their shows in the past. I just sampled the first episode and kinda liked it. I'll watch more.

I call my Bravo shows trash tv too lol.

We watched a few episodes of Shemar Moores new show SWAT. Its ok, nothing special but Shemar Moore is still nice eye candy.

I have not seen Happy, I will look for it.

Lately everything we are watching is on Netflix. The Crown, Stranger Things, which was not as good as season 1.
Longmire, Ozark (loved it), broadchurch, and now watching Godless, which is terrific do far.

Newsroom season 3 on Amazon. Just started it.

Okay. The people writing this article clearly don't have a clue if they think this show will be similar to Castle - having five similarities is negated if the writer/operative is gay ... unless the police detective is another gay cop. smh

I did see the pilot of 9-1-1.

It was okay.

Like Angela Bassett and Connie Britton. Love Peter Krause.

Britton and her surroundings are not true to what I know of LAPD's dispatch center...

Occasionally 'Ryan Murphy'-ish (it was co-created by him, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, who will run it). A couple of the mini-stories were fun (baby in the wall, snake choking its owner), but the new kid getting fired and rehired after a shot of redemption... that all played very silly.

(ha - Charles Baker was the bad guy, and named 'Peter', and he was Skinny Pete on Breaking Bad...).

I'll probably watch #2. Mom and I watched it and X-F together the other night, and I can see that continuing... but I'm not overly invested... had kinda looked forward to it, but... I don't know. What did you think?

The baby in the pipe was definitely an "OMG" moment. That was pretty realistic.
I will try a few more, but i agree some of it was pretty silly.
I think they tried too hard in the pilot to introduce a back story on all the main characters, I didn't like that.

I have 9-1-1 saved for summer bingeing because of the cast. Let us know how it develops.

Well, every character SHOULD have a backstory, of course, but... yeah. The seams always seem to show more in a pilot, where they are throwing out a LOT in an effort to sell the show... so I never quite trust a pilot’s quality (good OR bad), because the #2 is going to be a truer test of what a show REALLY is...

9-1-1 after three... I will watch the rest of the season. It's fun, but strains credibility in all of the 'unusual' incidents our firefighters see with great regularity... they do not live in a mundane world of standard calls... no, every call they respond to is Really Weird.

American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace (on FX). Good start, good cast. Going to be nine episodes. Much less 'spoiled' by the real-life events than OJ, so it's cool that there may be some surprises here.

The Resident (on Fox). Okay. I don't need another medical show, but I'll watch #2 tonight (Kanakaredes wasn't in the pilot, I wanna see her). It's kind of like 'Training Day', with Czuchry's asshole hazing his intern awfully, but it's fine, because he's really good at what he does, and it's for the newbie's own good. The characters are all kinda thin, and Bruce Greenwood's blowhard has-totally-lost-it chief of surgery is SO laughably 'bad' that it doesn't seem like a viable long-term story...

Counterpart (on Starz). I love JK Simmons, and the pitch was intriguing... definitely don't know where it's going, after an hour. I don't know if I'll like it as it goes on or not, but the pilot was intriguing and interesting throughout. Ten episode first season.
