A lot of people are comparing paul to derrick (who i respected but didn't like) but I actually mostly like Paul. Not sure how I'd feel if I watched feeds and saw a lot of him.

I think what most people really hate is that the HG are too blind and are followers. IMO though, if you are going on BB and have NOT watched most seasons then damn, watch 'em. And know that, in most years, the returning players are in the finals if they aren't evicted earlier rather than later.

BB 13 - Rachel won as a vet
BB 14 - Dan - 2nd place lost to Ian in finals
BB 15/16/17 - all noobs I have absolutuely no memory of Steve Moses, winner two years ago, even after seeing his pic. :P
BB 18 - Nicole won as a vet
OTT season - Jason in Finals

Agree on all counts.

I think I mentioned earlier Paul is controlling the game like Derrick did. It is annoying on the feeds because he is constantly on which bugs people that want to see drama because he keeps a tight lid on everyone. From a game standpoint it is interesting to me. I did quit the feeds earlier than normal in Derricks season and I could see that happening again if this does indeed become the Paul steamroll it appears to be. For now though I am still enjoying the season and Paul.

It always amazes me that a lot of them dont watch the show beforehand. Theres very few this season that have seen more than one season, Paul included. Most of them are buying into Pauls argument that he cant win as the only vet......huh?!?!

Vanessa should have won instead of Steve.

Last night, they were playing that Mafia game on BBAD and reminded me of why I do enjoy Paul at times. He can be entertaining. Derrick was so boring. If I was able to watch all of S16, it was only because Cody was a nice piece of eye candy.

Paul can't play in the HOH if Jess uses her Hex next week...

Paul is more fun than Derrick. Derrick had to be very careful about how he was portrayed, Paul is a lot more open and personable.

Mark won the temptation comp. Jason is the 3rd nom. Talk now of putting up Jess/Josh or Josh/other pawn to stack veto comp.

It will be fun to see Pauls plan foiled if he does try to backdoor Cody again.

Paul called what he thinks is Jess' bluff. Jess/Cody/Jason noms. Drama ensues.....

I read somewhere that Paul thinks he can trick jess into not using the power, like she was tricked into not using the veto? or was that speculation? I think one option discussed was that they will let Jess win veto, take herself down, then put up someone else, then convince jess to save the power for later and NOT use it on Cody - possibly by convincing her Jason or new nom is the target???

And Jody "broke up" yesterday?

I know some people think it's a "waste" of an HoH to do these noms, but in survivor the smart plan has always been to flush out idols(powers) and so if it forces her to use it, then it was a success, because that means they are closer to breaking up that team before the numbers dwindle. Otherwise, the threat of its use keeps them safe thru 2-3 more weeks? Too dangerous.

Off to read.... ;)

Paul is trying to intimidate/coax Jess into not using the hex, saying if she saves Cody they will target her next week and she wont make jury. Shes using it no matter what. She was talked out of using the veto last week (mostly by Cody). Paul had little to nothing to do with that except keeping the lid on the fact they were voting out Ramses. Pauls ego is getting the better of him now, he really thinks he can still spin this week to get Cody out.

Jess/Cody had a spat, it lasted a couple hours and they are fine now. She didnt like him getting in Pauls face. Mark/Elena are on the verge of a breakup too. Elena knows hes terrible for her game and shes looking for the exit.

Paul won veto, talking about taking Jason down. Not that it matters lol.

Most will probably be in bed early tonight as they were up all night studying for veto (BB Storm Watch).

From what I've read, it sounds like Paul had quite the tantrum last night because Production wouldn't tell him the details of the Hex....and he was mad that Cody almost won POV without studying. I guess I should have recorded BBAD.

Pauls been throwing tantrums everyday of late. The hex thing is driving him nuts. Jess finally spelled out all the details for him this morning. He's still trying to keep her from using it. She is humoring Paul by listening and throwing out terms if she doesnt use it (her safety for 2 weeks and Alex gone next) but I dont think there is any way she doesnt use it. Paul did spill to Jess that Cody wanted to keep Alex/Jason in the game to take out Jess/Raven later. Jess confronting Cody now. Paul is working overtime.

Everyone thinks Elena helped Jess/Cody study for veto (she didnt). Cody is just a robot lol.

Do you see a clear difference in Paul's behavior between this season and last season, jbrr? Was he more fun and playful throughout all of last season, or was that something that happened as the season went on and their were fewer people in the house?

I can see his value from a Production stand point. He's the kind of personality who drives a storyline of sorts. Of course, if he wasn't there I'm sure there are a couple of hamsters who would take his place.

I found an exit interview of Cody's and he did sing Alex's praises in that. He has some kind of respect for her competitive nature. The comments about her lean more towards the negative at PreTV but it seems like Hamsterwatch likes her.

I think the big difference in Paul's game comes from the two factors that shaped his early game. Last season, he was on the outs early and his early allies were targeted and booted. Jozea and Victor were #2 and #3 out. (Forgot Victor won the Return!) So I think he was playing from weakness and so was less arrogant and a tad more tactful - though still a big personality.

This time, his vet status + his safety Hex + (in his mind) unfairly losing to Nicole last season I think has given him a sense of entitlement and arrogance.

ETA

Looking over last season's eviction pattern and noticed Paulie's name. (shudder) Now I'm trying to decide if I dislike Cody as much as Paulie. I actually think I like Cody better.

That's a good point about Paul losing to Nicole and feeling entitled to this win.

I think Cody and Paulie are probably on a similar wave length but I think Cody is more respectful of women than Paulie seemed to be. Cody has a daughter, though, so maybe that figures into it. Also, Cody has a weird way of being funny and I don't remember Paulie generating many laughs. But I disliked Paulie so strongly by the end of his stay that it's possible there were things I liked about him early in the game and just forgot about them.

I agree KMI. Pauls game picked up exactly where it left off so hes the same as he was the end of last season but its very different from early last season Paul. His ego is way bigger, I swear he says "as a vet I'm telling you...." at least 20 times a day. And if questioned he gets even worse and usually ends with an angry "everything I've said has happened so I'm telling you....". Even though he's been totally wrong several times and these idiots just sit there and nod along. Total entitlement.

I like Alex, she was an early favorite for alot of people. Most of the negativity for her stems from teaming up with Paul. Everyone wanted her to be the nemesis to Paul since shes the most competitive and most game to make moves. I still think she has potential to take that shot down the line.

I far prefer Cody to Paulie. Paulie was a loud obnoxious ass. Cody is quiet and robotic and sometimes just watching people have totally one-sided convos with him makes me lol.

Glad my instincts about Cody/Paulie are in agreement. Not seeing feeds or detailed daily recaps, I wasn't sure..... I wonder what's he's been up to OTH.

Paulie remains an ass outside as far as I can tell. There was a lot of drama with him/Zakiyah until they finally split in Feb. Paulie/Cody/Corey started a clothing line (if u call screenprinting shirts a clothing line) together.

In other semi-related news it seems Nicole is working through all the available BB men, she is now very cozily hanging out with Victor.

(i also highly encourage looking at Vics instagram if you are in need of eye candy.)

Sounds like there was some drama over a plan to harass Cody for the next 4 days? Matt not liking it and telling Christmas that it's unnecessary. Josh telling his mother not too watch this week. These people are becoming more unlikable than the guy they're going after. Have we reached that point where they all start losing their mind?

Are they trying to get Cody to punch someone in the face?

Yes Paul concocted the plan to "get Cody to snap" he thinks it will get Jess to not use the hex if Cody blows up and proves himself a hothead to Jess again. Its all desperate Pauls master plan. Matt/Jason not comfortable with it. Alex/Paul/Christmas completely onboard with it and coaching Josh how to do it. The others are just staying out of it.

They are dumb!

This insanity just keeps going. They will probably burn themselves out before BBAD but it might be worth recording. Basically everyone is into it with Jess and/or Cody, lots of screaming and Josh with the pans. Cody remaining very detached, Jess mad but mostly under control. Paul directing every step of the others.

There was some discussion the other day about Paul being concerned with whether the fans like him but this sounds like the plots and schemes of a guy who doesn't give a shit if people hate him or not. Unless he figures any kind of drama makes for good entertainment.

As a fan of bad behavior on the Housewives shows, I suppose I should be applauding this, but it sounds like they're preying on the possibility of Cody having some PTSD issues, which just seems cruel.

Paul seems to believe the fans love the drama no matter what. I think he is using Josh as his mouthpiece to try and avoid any possible backlash later.

Its pretty skeevy stuff going on. They are for sure trying to prey on any issues Cody may have. They went so far as questioning his military service and calling his dog tags fake. Cody handled it all in stride.

DR has apparently told Josh to cool it now.

Did you see or hear the Wall Yeller incident? Sounds like it's changed the mood in the house. Has Paul actually realized he's being an asshole?

I heard it. They clearly said America loves Jess and something else after that. I went back with headphones and loud sound and still cant say for sure the second part. Most feeders are claiming they heard Paul is a bully.....maybe.

Some hgs seem to have heard all or part of it because the mood dramatically shifted when we came back from fish. Not sure if it was on After Dark but Cody just kind of excitedly went and got Jess and sent her to the DR after he left DR. He is now parked outside the DR door with popcorn waiting for her lol.

Jess and Cody were sitting in bed with a bowl of popcorn next to them but they weren't talking, so it switched to Jason. Then commercials.

Paul was talking to Mark and Elena trying to rationalize his bad behavior, so I'm guessing he has some idea about the "Paul is a bully" Yeller comment. It just made me dislike him more.

Reading about how Paul's minions were singling out Cody and trying to enrage him gives me a better sense of why Megan couldn't take it and walked.

Sounds like more than a pep talk. She looks like the cat that swallowed the canary and he looks very pleased with himself too. Something went down in the DR for sure. She kept trying to whisper it to Cody but he couldnt hear and she got a "stop that". She did keep repeating 5% so maybe a pay bump?

The bully comment is definitely weighing on Paul.

They didn't show the POV ceremony on the televised show. I'm guessing they're trying to pad tomorrow's episode, as they anticipate Jessica will use the Hex.

The POV ceremony is what touched off all the fighting so I'm guessing for continuity they want to show it all together and yes padding.

Did they tone that down so Paul and his minions didn't look like such assholes on television, or did it just seem worse when I was reading about it?

I'm not even looking forward to watching to see who won HOH. It's sitting there on pause right now, lol...
