I forgot to say, the build up to the Sand Snakes was not sufficient for the Finale/Premiere. |

Dorne was a big bust last season, but I didn't mind the brevity of the Elarria-takes-out-Doran and the girls-get-Trystane scenes here. 'Okay, NOW what?' is the question. |

Finally had a chance to visit with my GoT colleague at lunch today and rehash. She's read everything (after I turned her on to the books before the show started) and she's re-read everything since last June. She says this is all new territory. And she is flipping out trying to guess how the books will play it. :D I haven't visited any Book VS Show forums yet... |

I read a couple pages of PreTV's Book vs. Show thread. There was plenty of negativity for the Dorne shenanigans. |

Bran's back. Balon went splat. Roose's first born prefers being an only child. http://tvline.com/2016/05/01/game-of-thrones-roose-bolton-dies-michael-mcelhatton-leaving-season-6/ Jon's back. There was a big clap of thunder here as Melisandre was trying to revive Jon, which made it all the more fun. I started thinking they'd save the resurrection until the next episode. Tyrion playing a Dragon Whisperer was pretty cool. I like the fantasy aspect of Bran's story, so it was good to see him again. UGH @ Ramsay killing Roose. I'd rather just FF through Ramsay's scenes but I keep thinking I'll miss something that impacts someone else's story. I guess I could just read a recap. Still hoping that Arya will actually get to do something awesome one day soon. I'm assuming the Iron Islands will factor in to all of this somehow but I kinda don't care, though I'd rather watch them than Ramsay. Enjoyed Cersei and Tommen. |

Tyrion making friends was a suspenseful scene, yes, though it seemed pretty unlikely they'd roast or eat him. Even so. It shall be as satisfying to see Ramsay go as it was Joffrey, for sure. But how and when? I do think McElhatton's right - it was kinda self-defense - If Ramsay hadn't gotten his Dad, Roose likely would have gotten him a moment or two later... Walder Frey is going to be most displeased. No tits in our 'Tits and Dragons' show tonight. Odd. |

The whole E-VOL villain is so groan-worthy but at least Joffrey was a Lannister, an important family to the series. Roose played a important part in some of the story but he's a far cry from a Lannister. Ramsay is relatively pointless without his father. Perhaps from a writer's point of view there's a good reason for a villain who has little to no inner conflict but I don't find them to be compelling entertainment. If they can elevate Ramsay's demise to more than a "Good Riddance!" thought from me, I'll be surprised. Walder Frey is a piece of sh*t, too. I do like the idea of Ramsay taking his vile self up to the Wall to get his comeuppance. Tits last week, dragons this week. Maybe it's a back and forth thing? I do agree with the complaints about Tyrion's eunuch jokes. Once was more than enough. On the first viewing, I wasn't paying enough attention to the Bran's flashback to realize I was watching young Benjen, Eddard and Jon Snow's mother ( :P ). Edited by bilki, May 1 2016, 11:22 PM.

Balon going splat was in the book. I was surprised they took the time to throw that in but I guess they are going to go somewhere with Iron Islands story. Oh Ramsey ... I saw that coming a million miles away. Really enjoyed Bran's story tonight and the flashback to the kids. Again that is going to bring something new to the TV series that was in the books that hasn't really been touched on yet in the show. I expected Jon Snow to return the way he did because of the book and how Melisandre had used those same powers on others. Love Tyrion and the dragons. I said to my husband 'Oh it would be a bitch if George got rid of Tyrion with one fatal dragon breath but he wouldn't do that ... would he?' LOL ... This is Game of Thrones so I should always remember to expect the unexpected. |

Yeah, we'll probably be skipping a lot of the Iron Islands stuff, but if Theon is going 'home', they have to at least do an abridged version... I wanna know what happened to Hodor. Well, I believe Melisandre (both Book and Show) had never done THAT before, but... yes, what we all thought would happen... happened. |

Yeah I guess it was Thoros that brought back Beric Dondarrion using the 'Lord of the Light's' power. Fun article ~ http://winteriscoming.net/2016/05/02/on-game-of-thrones-resurrection-and-coming-back-wrong/ |

At one point during that conversation, I thought Melisandre might tell Davos they'd have to find Thoros of Myr. Didn't she cross paths with him on the show? I wonder how different Jon will be after this. I know Beric Dondarrion changed after each resurrection. And after being dead for so long, Lady Stoneheart was only a sliver of Catelyn Stark. ***I wrote that^^^ before I read the article linked above me, lol. There's speculation that Tyrion is a Targ. Talking to the dragons added some fuel to that fire. This is the first I've heard of the theory, and I haven't looked into who they think his father may be. Plenty of cheers for KINGSMOOT, which would mean more to Gate than it does to me. Of all of the hours I spent on ASOIAF wiki, I didn't look into the Iron Islands characters much at all. Yeah, Arya was hanging with the Brotherhood without Banners until Melisandre came by and bought Gendry from them... I don't remember if she (Melisandre - I know Arya did) saw Thoros do his thing with Beric, though... |

Interesting note on watching GOTh with hubby .... He is most interested Arya storyline. Funny how different people look forward to different stuff. I am thinking Jon Snow will be different. Maybe tougher ... not as compassionate. I don't know but I think there will have to be some major change to propel him toward the Iron throne but then again Winter is Coming. >>I don't remember if she (Melisandre - I know Arya did) saw Thoros do his thing with Beric, though... I can't remember if she was there for any of the resurrections in the book. My brain is fried. Bilki, I remember reading somewhere the theory of Tyrion. That would actually make a lot of sense if he was Targ. __ I feel 'really' bad for my kid. She works night shift so she can't watch GoTh live and her asshole boyfriend was watching it when she woke up and the first thing she saw was Jon Snow opening his eyes. She was all prepared to watch it when she woke up too so she wouldn't be spoiled. I told her it is time to throw boyfriend to the curb. I would NEVER forgive someone who is suppose to love me ruin Game of Thrones for me! :firemad: |

Not the best thing to see the end first, no, but she wasn't SPOILED, really... She did think Jon was going to get better, didn't she? |

Happy news - Looking very much like the day before Memorial Day - a day HBO usually takes off - is NOT skipping a week this year. We won't have a two-week break between #5 and 6... |

Didja tell her 'You know nothing (about) Jon Snow'? Just a scratch. Minor flesh wound. I expect another person we like and were sorry to see go will be alive again soon in the near future (not Lady Stoneheart, I mean somebody else... Do you know who I mean?). |

So Tyrion killing Tywin happened to air on Father's Day... The popular speculation is that Mother's Day might well be giving us the 'Jon Snow's Mother' reveal... |

#4, Book of the Stranger - How annoying would it have been if Jon left before Sansa's party arrived? Of course, was half-expecting they'd miss each other... With Littlefinger checked off, Bronn is our only Main Cast guy unseen so far... Poor Osha. Dany vs. her captors was fun. 5 & 6 will be directed by GoT newcomer Jack Bender, titles are 'The Door' and 'Blood of My Blood'. 7 & 8 are Mark Mylod's, title of 7 is 'The Broken Man'. |

I did not expect them to be reunited in the first scene. With Sansa's & Jon's luck I was expecting they would miss each other. Nice with them back together. |

http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/15/game-thrones-emilia-clarke-dany Since it had been more than two years since her last nude scene, I had entirely bought into the 'Clarke won't do them any more' narrative, and thought last night's 'welcome return' of her breasts was achieved with the same digital trickery that enabled Cersei's shame walk.. Nope. Cool. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/15/game-thrones-sansa-jon-reunion |

Wow. That was quite an episode. Probably this season's "Hardhome." Poor Hodor. My eyes even watered a bit. And we lost another direwolf. Ugh. Arya doesn't have what it takes to become one of the Faceless, and I'm starting to feel like sitting through all of those scenes of her getting hit with a stick has been pointless. Pleased that Dany has finally forgiven Jorah. I liked the reveal that the Children made the White Walkers, especially because I've been cheering for the WWs to show up and kill most of Westeros. I wish they would have talked about it a bit more, though. It looks like the Children created a monster they couldn't control. |

I'm so ready for Arya's showdown with the Waif. They're saying that the Faceless Men will always be after Arya after this. While there are plenty of despicable people in Westeros, am I really supposed to be rooting for Dany's Dothraki army to rape the women and kill the children of the land? I need to go back and watch Bran's visions in slow motion. Jaime is supposed to be killing the Mad King somewhere in there. Benjen Stark! |
