From HBO, re: 6.1 - “Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again.” Title is 'The Red Woman'. Season 6 info - Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of Season 5, including Jon Snow’s bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys’ near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei’s public humiliation in the streets of King’s Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south. |

Well that sucks, and especially that they'll actually be pulling that Madmen crap and stretching out a season over two years. I'm all for tight, shorter seasons, but in that case, just run Season 7 as 13 episodes and full steam ahead. |

Unlike the AMC show-extenders (which seemed to be primarily money and Emmy-motivated), this seems more like it might be a case of it-will-take-that-much-longer-to-make-them... I would probably rather wait longer (year and a half? Nah, it'd probably be two full years... I see why they wouldn't do that...) and get 13-in-a-row than 7-wait-another-year-and-get-6 but whatever. We don't get to vote. Breaking Bad took the extra year to make their last eight. Mad Men and (now) Hell on Wheels had their last episodes sitting in a can awhile, waiting... GoT will be more like BB... They're going to be working year-round, as always, but the final episodes are going to take more time to make. |

So, more dragons and battles? If it's a production thing I agree, take the time needed. If it's HBO stretching the product then no. |

Sounds like a production thing. HBO (like the fans) would be happiest with more, more, more... But it's going to be more Benioff and Weiss' call, since they know best what their needs are.. I know they've been 'anxious' to wind it down for awhile, but it's tough to believe we can get to The End in 23 or so more hours of story. |

Melisandre feeling so defeated by life that she undid her seductive pretense was my favorite moment. Brienne and Sansa were pretty cool, too. Mostly disappointed that Jon Snow is still dead. |

Still dead. Weird. Brienne and Podrick's rescue of Sansa and Theon was great, and I loved the pledges. Always fun to hear Tyrion and Varys talk together. Joras looking down and finding the ring was pretty incredible. Liked the Dany/Khal Moro scene a lot. Poor Trystane. Loved Davos talking to Thorne through the door. - Out from 5 - Stannis. Promoted up from Recurring - Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow. |

Most of the speculation that I've been reading is that Jon will resurrect in his funeral pyre in a scene that will be along the lines of Daenerys birthing her dragons. That gives me some hope. Davos was great. I forgot to mention him. I still enjoy Arya, though I can see why someone would be bored with her. |

He'll be back. I kinda like that they defied expectations that it would be in the premiere... one of my favorite things about Twin Peaks was how they came back from their Season 1 cliffhangers, which left, like, eight lives in jeopardy... Lynch gave us the room service waiter wandering in and out of the room, oblivious to Coop bleeding on the floor... "Your milk will get cool on you"... Cersei's face dropping when she realizes Jaime's trip went poorly was powerful. |

I thought is was a great premiere. Lots of good stuff and I was blown away how they hit on so many storylines in under 60 minutes. Fun that we don't know if Jon Snow will be brought back to life but I'm betting he will be. |

It looked that way, sure. They might have screwed up, and forgot that she'd not had it on while nude before. But as their attention to detail has generally been pretty strong... Easy enough to say 'it's in her, not the thing'. Even if she did a symbolic 'shedding'... |

Great premiere. I agree Gate, they hit a LOT of stories and did it well. Sometimes, when a show jumps around I want to go back to something or feel irritated to leave the current story, but not this time. (except, as Bilki noted, maybe Arya's story...) Though my very favorite was Sansa and Theon and Brienne and Pod, followed closely by the material at the wall, especially Davos. Was that Pod's first kill? The conversation with Cersei and Jaime... creepy and chilling and exactly why GRRM is tough to take. (But now I gotta wonder...was that in the books? or from D&D?) But in this case, more Art than shock-porn. |

It was fun how we only visited each place or set of characters once... Except we began at The Wall, and knew (title BEING 'The Red Woman') we'd go back there before the hour was up... Watch the clock... Okay, here it comes... Oh. Well, THAT'S not Jon's resurrection... Dunno if that was Pod's first kill. I'd guess no, but I'm not sure. Cersei/Jaime - Incest may be icky and all, but no, they can't shock us with them NOW, 51 hours in... Regulars we've yet to see - Samwell and Gilly, Littlefinger, Bronn, Bran, Missandei, Tommen, Tormund, Jaqen... http://www.ew.com/article/2016/04/25/game-thrones-melisandre-premiere |
