Lynch is upset about any and all spoilers getting out there... Most of the fan community is cooperating with the requests to #preservethemystery, but... You know. I'm really fine with not knowing anything, but I don't MIND reading confirmations of cast returns that I had been expecting all along.... First new-to-the-cast person is Amanda Seyfried. Cool. I like her. Edit - second, Balthazar Getty... |

Wanting to know who is in the cast is normal. As long as it isn't someone playing a mystery character, it will come out before the program airs. |

I wouldn't mind a general idea of what the season will be about but I wouldn't want to know specific details....not that I'll be able to watch when it originally airs. Does Showtime have one of those apps like HBONow? |

They do, yeah.. (I think - but am not sure - that you can alacarte it like HBO Now).... And Showtime also partnered with Hulu to do joint subscriptions... |

Recent news - Couple more known newbies are Robert Knepper (T-Bag from Prison Break) and Peter Sarsgaard... Cool. Today we learned that Michael Ontkean won't be returning to play Harry (he's retired). Robert Forster will be playing the sheriff. Unclear whether or not that means 'recast' or 'new character', but apparently Forster was up for the role of Harry way-back-when, and Lynch did use him in Mulholland Drive (my favorite of Lynch's features). 10/14 edit - Sarsgaard isn't in it. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfPv57KBpJI The music swooping up produces great feelings... One of my playwright friends from college worked with Michael Horse (Hawk) a few years ago and said he was great... I loved Watts in Mulholland Drive, which I've probably said before. And he's got Laura Dern here, too? Seems like Lynch must be a good guy to work for, though I thought that scene in Mulholland was making fun of how difficult he can be. |

His actors love him. Have never heard any of them speak ill of him or their experience. I'm sure his working style wouldn't be for everybody... But I think he weeds all of those people out in the casting process, because everybody 'in' usually STAYS in for multiple projects... When I saw Lynch do a q&a in Hollywood in '06, Dern moderated it... |

A little off-topic but have we ever discussed Lynch's album, Crazy Clown Time? A few of the songs are pretty bad but some of it's really fun to listen to if you like something a little different. |

I don't think we have, but I do love it. Also, the album he produced for the singer Chrysta Bell is really good. It's funny - I had the video for the title track of Crazy Clown Time in my head, like, PERFECTLY visualized in my head - and then he made one http://youtu.be/caWXt9lCVrc and my 'dream' of it was really close... |

I don't think I've seen that video before. It was just a still image when I'd listened to it in the past. That video was so Lynch-ian that I sat with a smile on my face through the entire thing. Maybe you have a psychic connection with Lynch! |

I feel a connection to him and his work, for sure. I love contrast. Like how Vince Gilligan is this soft-spoken super-polite would-never-hurt-a-fly gentleman, and he gave us some pretty sick shit in Breaking Bad. Lynch is also very sweet and kind and always talking about transcendental meditation and can make The Straight Story, a G-rated film for Disney about an old guy going across the country on a riding lawn mower to say goodbye to his brother, but also, you know, the rest. |

Interesting bit on dugpa on that first Showtime teaser.. >> Regarding teasers and marketing, I know a person involved with making that teaser. He went to location (which he does for many shows) to get press material, ie interviews with cast and crew. He said he couldn't get any time with anybody and was kept in the dark for his entire time in Washington. Finally he saw Michael Horse sitting down and asked if he could ask him some questions and Horse was generous enough to answer. That was pretty much all he was able to get. They cut that teaser together and it had to go through Lynch. Lynch loved it and wanted it put up. Someone else suggested revisions to it, which they did. When Lynch saw the updated cut, he demanded it go back to the way he approved it. Needless to say, it did and that's the version we have now. I say this to highlight the fact that a) Lynch has total control over marketing, or at the very least final say. And b) that was pretty much all my friend could scrape together from his time on set. He wasn't even tasked with making a teaser - it's just that when Lynch saw it, he liked it so much that he wanted it released as a teaser. |

http://www.avclub.com/article/twin-peaks-revival-wraps-filming-might-not-be-limi-235368 Curious. I'd seen the 18-if-that's-really-what-it-is-might-be-split-into-a-couple-runs before enough times to kinda assume it to be true, but this is the first hint I've seen that the revival might be open-ended, not a finite thing... 140 days of shooting complete. Frost's book is out on 10/18. |

http://deadline.com/2016/04/twin-peaks-full-cast-david-lynch-showtime-series-1201743122/ Ooh. This is exciting. Very happy to see the Log Lady (the late Catherine Coulson) on the list, but was also kinda hoping for David Bowie. Oh, well... |

I'm kinda surprised Lynch let this out, as spoiler-adverse as he is. But I'm giddy to have it, anyway... Returning cast (I only had to look up four of them... Coffey, Martin Logan, Rosand, and Russell were beyond my brain's trivia capacity...) - Madchen Amick -- Shelly Johnson Dana Ashbrook -- Bobby Briggs Phoebe Augustine -- Ronette Pulaski Richard Beymer -- Benjamin Horne Scott Coffey -- ? (the TP wikia doesn't know. Hm. He's worked with Lynch several times, but I can't find a TP or FWWM credit for him anywhere...) Catherine E. Coulson -- Margaret Lanterman, the Log Lady Julee Cruise -- Singer at the Roadhouse Jan D'Arcy -- Sylvia Horne David Duchovny -- Dennis 'Denise' Bryson Sherilyn Fenn -- Audrey Horne Miguel Ferrer -- Albert Rosenfield Warren Frost -- Doc Hayward Harry Goaz -- Andy Brennan Andrea Hays -- Heidi (Double R waitress) Gary Hershberger -- Mike Nelson Michael Horse -- Tommy 'Hawk' Hill David Patrick Kelly -- Jerry Horne Sheryl Lee -- Laura Palmer / Madeline Ferguson Peggy Lipton -- Norma Jennings David Lynch -- Gordon Cole Bellina Martin Logan -- Desk Clerk at Great Northern Kyle Maclachlan -- Dale Cooper James Marshall -- James Hurley Everett McGill -- Big Ed Hurley Walter Olkewicz -- Jacques Renault Kimmy Robertson -- Lucy Moran Wendy Robie -- Nadine Hurley Marvin Rosand -- Cook (FWWM) Carlton Lee Russell -- Jumping Man (FWWM) Harry Dean Stanton -- Carl Rodd (FWWM) Charlotte Stewart -- Betty Briggs Al Strobel -- Mike, the one-armed man / Philip Gerard Carel Struycken -- The Giant Russ Tamblyn -- Dr. Lawrence Jacoby Ray Wise -- Leland Palmer Alicia Witt -- Gersten Hayward Grace Zabriskie -- Sarah Palmer |

Jim Belushi will be fun to see. I highly recommend the Chrysta Bell/David Lynch album -- http://www.amazon.com/This-Train-Produced-David-Lynch/dp/B006381EKS Monica Bellucci is a natural choice. I like John Billingsley, a busy character actor. Michael Cera should be fun. I think I thought Richard Chamberlain had passed away... Bailey Chase works a lot, and was on Buffy, but I still think 'hey, he was on my soap' (ATWT) first when I see his name. Grace Victoria Cox was Melanie on Under the Dome. Ha - I missed Jeremy Davies being on this list for several hours, and then saw it on a Facebook post... Rebekah Del Rio's 'Llorando' in Mulholland Drive is one of my favorite things. Francesca Eastwood is very pretty. Love Patrick Fischler. Robert Forster is said to be playing the sheriff, but I'm thinking 'new sheriff' more than recast-of-Harry. I like Brett Gelman from Go On and the Mad Men finale. Ernie Hudson is great. Love Robert Knepper (T-Bag). Love David Koechner (The Office) Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh - cool. Jane Levy. Ooh. She's so hot. (Suburgatory) I like Matthew Lillard, will be good to see him here. Josh McDermitt is Eugene on The Walking Dead. James Morrison is a good fit (Bill on 24) I like Max Perlich. Trent Reznor and Eddie Vedder! Tim Roth! Hadn't seen that anywhere yet... Elena Satine was Louise on the last season of Revenge. She's gorgeous. John Savage, Tom Sizemore - Cool. Amanda Seyfried - Love her. I like Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl). Jessica Szohr is really pretty. Lynch notables Laura Dern, Balthazar Getty, and Naomi Watts - very cool. Karolina Wydra was Violet on True Blood. I only watched the first season of Californication, but I remember Madeline Zima.. |

I was reading comments at one of those links awhile back and they were talking about how Michael J. Anderson wanted more money than the show was paying. |

Yeah. I follow his Facebook posts... I liked him very much as an actor on TP and Carnivàle, but he's kind of a fucking loon. Goes on bizarre rants, seems very bitter and angry and mean a lot of the time. It's said the cast that attends conventions and stuff is always uncomfortable around him - doesn't want to attend if he's there... All these people... Up-and-comers, long-respected character actors, big names... But they 'low-balled' Anderson, and couldn't work it out? Weird. (MJA did work with Lynch again in Mulholland Dr., and 'Ronnie Rocket' - he would have been the star - was one of those Lynch Things That Never Happened....) Disappointed not to see Piper Laurie, since she'd said she was up to doing it. This is VERY close to 'everybody', though. It's a great showing of the original cast. |

Yes, Piper Laurie was at the top of my list of ones I'd like to see again. It's impressive how many actors are returning, though. I'll be happy to see Grace Zabriskie. She was another one of my favorites. |

She and Bruce Dern were so much fun on Big Love. Love how Zabriskie and Warren Frost were Susan's parents on Seinfeld. Always fun when two from TP would be cast together... Big Ed and Nadine were Wes Cravens' People Under the Stairs... Whole crew list put out there today - https://pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/tp-crew-list-1.pdf |

I LOVED Zabriskie on Seinfeld. Plus, that was one of my favorite seasons of the show. Mrs. Ross was such a departure from Sarah Palmer. |

Damn. Harry Goaz (Andy) interviewed somewhere and he said that Bowie WAS to have been a part of it, but he died before anything could be filmed. Glad we'll have some Log Lady stuff, at least. |
