>>>>ue in no small part to one particular scene towards the end of the 90-minute installment that’s been five seasons in the making (and which does not disappoint).

So what was this?

Good episode though. I really like Venus. Great last scene too.

Ausiello was very probably referring to Abel being told by Jax that Wendy was his 'first Mommy'. It was good.

But the Tig/Venus scene was really very sweet and cool.

Yeah I assumed it was telling Abel about Wendy too, it was good, but that Tig/Venus scene was GREAT.

Am I the only one that thought that Tig was going to 'off' Venus after that beautiful moment? I guess I'm a bit jaded.

Oh and how did I just figure it out that Venus is Boyd from 'Justified'??? LOL ... Even hubby didn't realize it until I said 'That's Boyd!!!'. :D

I don't know how you didn't know that before now. I know you didn't marathon Justified until, like, last year, but... we HAVE seen Venus five times in the last three seasons... and while she's very pretty... he IS pretty recognizable, I think...

You're quiet in the SOA 5 thread... here's our first reactions, October 2012...

KMI >> Oh.

My.

Heavens.

I kept thinking, "Who IS that?" "I know I know that actor..." Then Venus took the stepson nerd into the back room and I thought,,, "Holy hell, that looks like...................."

Krystal >> I saw a spoiler and it was.... But I haven't seen the show yet and I am not telling my hsb till we see it....

Me >> Loved that. So very much.
http://www.tvguide.com/News/Sons-Anarchy-Walton-Goggins-Woman-1054456.aspx

Jbr >> It was GREAT!!! I was also thinking who IS that, then it finally hit me and I asked my hubby, omg do you know who that is? At that point we had to rewind and watch the whole scene over to get the full appreciation.

Krystal >> He was awesome! God, how did they get those boobs to look so real! Just shows you can't believe anything you see!

Wonder who thought of that one?

Me >>Read the interview... Goggins' pitch, but he was half-joking... Sutter went back to him a year and a half or so later and said 'So I've written this - were you serious that you want to do it?'

--

HBO has used the same actors multiple times... there are a few that are significant in three series...

But Goggins is probably the most notable for FX - supporting-to-lead roles in two, and a significant 'surprise' role in a third...

(Adam Arkin had significant supporting roles on Sons & Justified, and also appeared on The Bridge - and has directed several episodes of each - but none of those have the same kind of screen time as Goggins...)

I know I should have recognized him. I just kept thinking that Venus looks like Steven Tyler. :D Last night I recognized the voice and then put 2 and 2 together. In my defense my husband didn't recognize him either.

Venus and Tig dialog was very good. I recognized Goggins right away (in the initial part) but nearly fell off chair,,,,but have to say Venus is far better looking than Boyd :)

Revenge? Unknown at this time (but I'd guess yes, there will be a fifth season). This is about Chibs joining the second half of THIS season...

Damn I gave up Revenge after season 1 but this almost makes me want to come back to it. I'd probably be way too lost though.

Though I'm one that can't 'jump in' and out of series unless I see them all (I'm just built that way), I'd say that the show is probably easy enough that you COULD drop back in and get everything that's immediately happening, though you'd obviously have missed a lot of 'the middle' of the story...

Nope.

So. Two to go.

The club has to take care of Marks.
The club has to take care of Barosky.
Jax's fate has to be decided (he's in trouble with the SOA for killing Jury).
Gemma's fate has to be decided.
And can Juice possibly survive?

http://www.people.com/article/jax-son-abel-twins-evan-ryder-londo? I think it's fun trivia that the twins playing Abel (for four years, since they were 2!...) also played Gene Draper on Mad Men...

LOL ... I am a loser. I wouldn't look in this thread because I 'thought' I missed an episode so I went searching my DVR and OnDemand and couldn't find anything. Then I got lazy and said 'Self ... You must go in the SOA thread and see if you really missed an episode'. Apparently I did not. I can't wait. I'm so excited. I have a feeling things are not going to end with Roses & Chocolate. :P

There was blood.....Not as much as I expected but enough.

Kind of expected more from the Jax/Gemma confrontation. Bummed about Unser, I expected he would die but I was hoping it wouldn't be like that. Juice....he probably wins the series award for most screwed over by SAMCRO. At least he got to eat his pie.

Still seems like alot to wrap in the finale, don't really get why we needed yet another complication with the Irish. Especially with Marks, Baroski, and the mayhem vote still looming.

Hoping Nero, Wendy and the kids really do escape to live on the farm. What was Nero up to in the garage?

Good episode but somehow I was left feeling a little let down. Not sure what I expected exactly but this just wasn't quite it.

I was satisfied, but I did like #11 better. I can't really say 'let down', but... it's SAD. Wayne's ending is very sad.

Jax/Gemma real good. Gemma deserves it, for sure, but... yeah, it's hard to fist-pump and yell 'Hooray!'. It's just all very tragic.

Happy surprise to see Chiklis as Milo (I love that name), the truck driver.

Agree it's odd they added 'Get Connor for the Irish' to the To Do list.

Glad to see Patterson in the finale preview... sure don't know how Jax could possibly get away with (amongst everything else) Wayne and Gemma...

Hoping Nero and Wendy and the kids are left in a good place.

I just watched 11. I am saving 12 until next week even though I had to read the spoilers. Have to say 11 was terrific. Best acting I have seen from CH and Smits since series start. The pain was almost palpable and the emotions more effective than the usual violence.

11 was better than 12.

It was a fun cameo from Chiklis. Interesting we saw the homeless woman again in this episode too.

I did think the scenes when Gemma went to see her dad were very well done.

Krystal since you're not watching 12 til next week, are you delaying watching the finale too? Should we go spoiler light in our discussion after?

So I can't believe I waited a full 24 hours AFTER the last episode aired to finally watch it and I wasn't spoiled ... Woot Woot ... go me.

I thought 11 was better and this one was just sad. I wanted Gemma dead for so long but I hated that Jax did it. I don't know. I guess if anyone deserved to 'off' her it would be him but it was just sad. The nursing home scene with the dad was great. The garden was beautiful. Just heartbreaking.

Poor poor Juice. That really made me sad but I was happy he got to finish his pie.

Wayne getting blown away without a thought just devastated me. I was like 'What??? How did that just happen??'

Oh well. Next week I plan on watching live if it kills me.

Oh and I wasn't a fan of Jax and Wendy hooking up. I want her with Nero and for her to be over Jax ... I think that will happen next week for sure.

Polling -

1. So Jax will die, right?

a. Well, yeah.
b. Nope, I think he'll make it out alive somehow.

2. If you answered 'yes', by what means/whose hands do you think he'll meet Mr. Mayhem?

a. Marks.
b. Connor.
c. Roarke or the Irish/Kings.
d. Baroski.
e. The Sons, after the Mayhem vote.
f. Jarry or someone else in Charming PD.
g. Abel.
h. The ghost of Clay.
i. Suicide.
j. Other - ________.

3. If you answered 'no', HOW the hell do you see him getting out of all this shit? Prison instead of death?

4. 'Happy endings'... Nero/Wendy/boys? Tig/Venus? Chibs/Jarry? Rat/Brooke? What was the special request Jax was making with the other charter Presidents? Some old unspoken rule he wanted... was it 'done away with' or 'enacted'? I forgot.
