I think this is by far the best show on now, not counting netflix. I think Odenkirk and Banks are brilliant and the writing is excellent. Don't forget BB was an evolving story as well. Walter did not wake up one day as Heisenberg, this just occured over the years. Saul will come out as well, I don't want to hurry the plot. I love every minute. |

Walt's evolution was more compelling to me. He had killed a man with, basically, his bare hands by the end of of the third episode, I believe. He was a down-on-his-luck kind of guy who decided to take life by the balls, which I found quite appealing. Probably even lived vicariously through him. It was fun to watch him scramble to get out of the many messes he got himself into, often of his own making. There was also an element of mystery, because we weren't certain of how bad it was going to get. I can't remember if I loved the first season but I was definitely hooked by the end of that third episode. And wanted to see more after the S1 finale, which I believe was the sixth episode. I know where Saul is going, for the most part. I've seen his future. They've given us a good glimpse of his past, and it appears that all that's holding him back is his brother. Sure, that can make for a great story but I haven't felt like this is a great story, yet. Odenkirk is doing a great job but some of those drawn out scenes bore me to the point of wanting to turn it off. How many episodes in are we? 6? 7? I'm not hooked. I'm watching because I loved Breaking Bad. But hopefully, now that they've finally brought Mike more into the mix it will become more interesting to me. Not that anyone's asking, but I think I would have rather had a show about Gus. After Walt, he was the most compelling character to me. I always enjoyed Saul on BB but I'm realizing that I don't find him to be all that complex. |

7 in Season 1 of BB (would have been 9, but for the writers' strike). We're six into this. 10 in Season 1, we'll get 13 next year. I agree Saul's arc very probably won't ever be as much of a 'wow' as Walt's was, but I don't think anything we've been presented here is boring or drawn-out, either... There's definitely more of Gus Fring's story to be told (and I kinda sorta think he'll likely get as much of a full hour to himself as Mike did in this one, 'someday'), but I'm not sure a series ABOUT him would necessarily have been better... He was a pretty 'cool' guy, even less likely than Mike to emote very much.... |

I'm certainly aware that I'm in the minority with my opinion of the show, thus far. From what I've read at HitFix and PreviouslyTV, I've only noticed one strong criticism of Saul. Everything else has been praise of varying degrees. I've even seen one reviewer/critic say that the first season of BCS has been superior to BB, which I strongly disagree with. We all like different things for different reasons, although I imagine our egos like it better when we're all in agreement. Or, at least most of us. |

The Kettlemans having this 'big' bag of money (mil and a half?) they can't spend is funny when you think of how much cash there is to come... |

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/03/30/better-call-saul-peter-gould-jimmy-chuck #9 was so good... McKean and Odenkirk fabulous in their big scene there at the end, and Mike's 'job interview' was a thing of beauty... |

That big confrontation scene was pretty great. Definitely my favorite Jimmy/Saul moment of the series, so far. Mike is awesome. I hope we get more of him next season. |

Finale on Monday written and directed by Peter Gould. Writers on the first season have been BB people Gould (1, 2, 10), Gilligan (1), Thomas Schnauz (3, 9), Gennifer Hutchison (4, 7), Gordon Smith (6, 8; he's new to script credits, but held a bunch of BB jobs, including being Gilligan's assistant), and one non-BB guy, Bradley Paul (5). Directors on the first season were BB people Gilligan (1), Michelle MacLaren (2), Terry McDonough (3), Colin Bucksey (4, 8), Adam Bernstein (6), Schnauz (9), and Gould (10), and two newcomers, Nicole Kassell (5) and Larysa Kondracki (7). O-ending titles were cute. 1. Uno 2. Mijo 3. Nacho 4. Hero 5. Alpine Shepherd Boy (it WAS 'Jello', but they must have been dinged with a copyright thing...) 6. Five-O 7. Bingo 8. RICO 9. Pimento 10. Marco |

The Mike focused episodes seemed more like Breaking Bad than the others. This isn't a criticism. I appreciated how they didn't have Jimmy/Saul be completely ignorant of his brother finally... |

Bravo. Bingo monologue... coin scam... grift montage... I worried something like that was going to happen to Marco on the big 'one last time'... Good short scenes with Kim, Howard, and Mike... Sad. Kim's got Jimmy a pretty-sure-thing new job AND back on Sandpiper... but Jimmy drives away from it. I GET it, but... Kinda seems like the same kinda choice Walter White made when he wouldn't take Elliot and Gretchen's money... We're off to a terrific start. Yes, too short a season, but the next one will be three hours longer, at least... |

I liked last week's episode much better. The BINGO scene was fun but I was almost bored with the rest of it. At least Marco had a great week before he headed out of this stinking hole. |

I thought the finale was a tad weak compared to most of the season which I enjoyed a lot. I can't imagine someone driving away from that kind of opportunity. The second to last was much better. I really laughed when Mike punched that guy right in the throat. Both actors are outstanding. I can't believe Jimmy's bro is such an asshole. I wonder what will become of Kim, we did not see her in BB. I enjoyed the Chicago scenes. Cicero is a real toilet... |

I don't think it's the RIGHT move for Jimmy to make... but I do get why he did it... made sense, given everything we'd seen before. Yeah, I think it's almost a given that we'll someday get 'during BB' scenes... a few of our other regulars Kim, Howard, Chuck, and Nacho may be dead or gone six years later, but it's a reasonable thought that they won't ALL be... we didn't meet them, because the show wasn't about Saul. But to see some of the events we know, but from Saul's perspective... yeah, that will be cool. I'm sure they won't resist that opportunity. And that whole 'we'd love to have Aaron Paul back, but Jesse was in middle school' thing... well, I'm sure we didn't see EVERY interaction Saul and Jesse and Walt ever had... I believe we'll see them eventually. |

We will. Only a matter of time... But Gould is right... Mike's not far enough along yet... I can wait, but it will be a happy day when we get there... |

Yes Fring should be in this eventually... I did like how Howard wasn't actually the bad guy as Patrick Fabian plays bad guys quite often...(on GH he was a fake out bad guy) |

Wow, the 1974 menstruation education video featuring Banks that was excerpted on tonight's Last Week Tonight... Can totally tell voice/face AFTER you know, but had never seen him THAT young... (Airplane! in '80 is the earliest I've seen..) |
