Meanwhile, complete BB blu-ray set is $85 today at Amazon... 63% might be the lowest I've seen it at so far (this is the 'normal' packaging, not the barrel set-with-a-Pollos-apron reissue). |

I think I will buy it sooner or later, I don't need fancy packaging. I have never rewatched a show, but I will this one, and Deadwood... |

Yeah, I really look forward to a total re-watch of each (and playing with the extras on the sets... the Deadwood blu-ray has a lot of terrific-sounding stuff...). (That price isn't any longer... back up to $111 today... I didn't bite... too poor...) - Tonight. Excited. (Not gonna go out with friends... but I did see another set of friends last night, so I'm not a TOTAL hermit... extra day of work today (and next Sunday), so I don't wanna not be home with the cats and the tv tonight... off of both jobs on Friday this week, so there's that to look forward to as a catch-up day...) |

We are very excited to watch it. Hubby said he even wants to 'try' to watch it live tonight. LOL! I'm sure we will be watching it tomorrow night. :D |

Bob Odenkirk -- Jimmy McGill Jonathan Banks -- Mike Ehrmantraut Rhea Seehorn -- Kim Wexler Patrick Fabian -- Howard Hamlin Michael Mando -- Nacho Varga and Michael McKean -- Chuck McGill Saul Goodman was introduced in 2.8 (the 15th episode) of BB and appeared in 35 of the 62 episodes (0/3/10/10/12). Mike Ehrmantraut was introduced in 2.13 (the 20th episode) and appeared in 25 episodes (0/1/6/10/8). And tomorrow night's #2 is going to Spoiler: click to toggle I was very pleased with the premiere. It's going to take its time... Man, I want some Cinnabon. |

http://www.tvinsider.com/article/390/better-call-saul-postmortem/ I wasn't surprised the show opened the way it did, and I'm SURE (Gilligan says 'a possibility' - ha!) there will be more of Gene in Omaha... Which is a large part of why I'm sticking to the everyone-should-watch-BB-first thing. Taken as its own thing (if #1 of BCS were your entry point), the premiere was... fine, but I wouldn't really be able to tell you what the show is going to be about. A struggling lawyer in Alberquerque... his brother... his brother's old firm... a scam with skateboarding twins (did you catch their discussion about making their moves 'tighter' but then admitting they weren't sure what they meant by that?)... But knowing what 'we' know... and juxtaposing it with what we DON'T know... it's a really engaging mystery. Anakin becoming Darth Vader... there weren't a lot of surprises along the way. But it's very funny to meet Mike as a parking lot attendant and wonder how he's going to get to... And I wonder where Chuck, Kim, Howard, and any other prominent supporting BCS players we're going to meet are when we DO get to where we met Saul... they won't all be dead or off the story canvas - some/most of them will probably still be there, we just didn't see them because BB was Walt's story (and, to a lesser extent, also Jesse, Skyler, and the Schraders', but not Saul's...). Gould and Gilligan have earned a lot of trust... I love the way they tell stories. I know there's a lot about Gus Fring that Gilligan knew and wanted to share with us, but couldn't find a way to squeeze in... I expect we'll get some of that here eventually... - Meet the car... http://www.esquire.com/blogs/culture/suzuki-esteem-better-call-saul-premiere |

It reminded me of how fun it is to watch Bob Odenkirk in action. Aside from wanting to see more of Saul and Mike, it didn't hook me in any other way. I suppose I'm leaning more towards it being something to watch after BB, rather than before. Tuco was an amusing surprise. I should have remembered he was only in the first two of BB's S2 but my memory can be so fuzzy with these things. Your info above answered my questions about whether Saul and Tuco were in the BB world at the same time, from what we saw. I wonder if Tuco's abuelita was Hector's mother. The B&W opening was cool. Obviously, I'm most looking forward to seeing Gus here but I'm guessing that may not happen this season. BB is on AMC right now and Saul is getting his pic taken for his Nebraska ID. |

Gus COULD happen, and it'd be wonderful if they could get away with it without it being spoiled beforehand (production has wrapped on 1). There's no Walt or Jesse in Season 1, but 'anything else is on the table'. If/when Jesse ever DOES happen, it's much more likely to be a scene set during or after (the two years of BB's story), as he's, you know, probably still in middle school in 2002. I was spoiled on Tuco because the critics got to see the first two so early, and though everyone I saw respected the embargo, a few (including Sepinwall) made reference to 'a BB villain' in Episode 2, and it's not THAT hard a process of elimination (and then I saw somebody comment that they saw it on imdb, which, sure, isn't absolute verification, but...). Bad joke, but maybe somebody will laugh anyway... 'Gosh, it's been so long, I hardly remember Tuco...' 'Okay, but his uncle should ring a bell.' The grandmother is played by Miriam Colon, (perhaps best known to GL viewers as Abuela Santos...), who was in Scarface with Steven Bauer (Don Eladio on BB... and Bauer was on the last season of Wiseguy with Jonathan Banks...) and Mark Margolis (Tio/Hector)... that's surely not a coincidence. I look forward to seeing Kuby (Bill Burr) and Huell (Lavell Crawford), the poor bastard left-sitting-tied-to-a-motel-room-chair-because-Hank-never-came-back... and I expect we will. |

FREE CINNABON... http://www.avclub.com/article/cinnabon-giving-better-call-saul-fans-free-taste-s-215002 sigh... but I don't wanna leave home again tonight... EDIT - but I did... yum. "If I'm lucky, a month from now – best case scenario – I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha.” - Saul Goodman in his final appearance in 5.15. That was a very accurate prediction he made there... |

The wiki page for the electromagnetic hypersensitivity was interesting. That scene in the desert reminded me of why I hated Tuco so much on BB. He's a real piece of shit. The guy who came to see Saul at the end...I know I've seen that actor somewhere before. He's a much more likable villain. I'd be more than happy to never see Tuco again. Yeah, salsa. |

Betsy Kettleman picks up her kids at Kit Carson Elementary... I sometimes work at a school with that name here in Vegas... I like Nacho's shirt (out in the desert). Can't promise we'll never see Tuco again, but he'll get what's coming to him... We will see a lot more of Nacho, he's a series regular. Yes, he's familiar... Vic the dick on Orphan Black... |

Well, we did see him more in the first season than the second, so it's closer to two years since we saw him all the time... Loved the lawyering-and-coffee-vending montage... New viewers would probably be wondering why the parking lot attendant guy has second billing... |

Yeah. The Jimmy we meet here... we're seeing which criminal acts he's comfortable with (desperation leads to shortcuts), and which boundaries he won't cross (yet) ... but we're pretty far from where we met Saul and he suggests that Walt and Jesse might wanna solve their Badger problem (he'd been arrested) by taking him out. This is not that guy. How does he get there? I'm very interested. |

Tuco's henchmen are the same. Cesar Garcia played No-Doze and Jesus Payan Jr. played Gonzo in 1.6, 1.7, and 2.1 of BB. People are claiming Krazy-8 is one of the clients in the montage, but I don't think so. The actor is not credited... |

We just watched one last night as we had all kinds of calls and distractions. I liked it a lot, it will start slow but really has great potential. Second hour with Justified tonight, I am taking the phone off the hook!!!! |

The first hour was very good. I had forgotten that Saul took off when the shit hit the fan. The second hour was brilliant and if they can keep this up they will have Emmy nods for themselves and certainly for Odenkirk. Odenkirk has a lot of range, he showed it in BB but was eclipsed by Cranston, who was just stellar. This is a great vehicle for him. |

It's funny to me that Odenkirk has to wear that silly hair-thing, while Jonathan Banks looks older and less agile than in the future. This was easily the best episode of the season, for me. I was somewhat bored with the past 3 episodes. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come. Great back story for why Mike had to leave the police force. That last scene of the episode was pretty damn good. |

I haven't been bored (all the pieces matter), but I absolutely agree that was the best one so far. That was... the best hour of tv of the year so far. Extraordinary work by Banks. Give him ALL the Emmys. Just... Wow. Mike's origin story was perfect. (Funny... I think this one, #6, is the first one in which we even heard Toll Booth Guy's NAME on this show, wasn't it?) Figure there's some Mike/Stacey reconciliation pre-BB... Their estrangement is going to come AFTER Mike slides into ABQ crime... Such a tragic journey... We know he's doing everything for Kaylee's future... http://www.ew.com/article/2015/03/09/better-call-saul-jonathan-banks-mikes-revelation-and-whats-next-him http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/better-call-saul-qa-jonathan-banks-talks-mikes-big-episode-five-o-1201449350/ http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/better-call-saul-spoilers-mike-779777 |

Played a supporting role in an episode of his own show, sure, but Jimmy had a lot of great funny lines during the interview, and the scene between them in the car was splendid... |

I'm loving it but I did like the latest episode the best or at least tie with the first episode. When the episode started both hubby and I were like 'Wait ... What happened. Did we miss an episode?' I quickly realized it was a flash forward of the episode to come. I haven't been bored at all. I like the 'slow' storytelling. My kid can't make it through the first episode without falling asleep. I enjoy hearing how different people of different ages relate to this show after seeing BB. |

Most good stories have slow stretches and would be weaker stories without them. We just got spoiled with the end of BB being a roller coaster doing JUST the "wheeeeeeeeee" down part... Now we have to start chugging back up again. First scene... FlashBACK, not forward, Mike arriving in NM with his wound... But yeah, a moment of 'wait... When/what is happening here?' Loved every minute. Fantastic hour... |
