I felt enough had gone against him in the last few... that it's fine that he went out on a win. Yeah, no great surprises to 'What's the gun for?' or 'Who will get the ricin?', but there were still a number of ways it could have gone down, and didn't, that it didn't feel too pat for me. Glad Jesse survived, and didn't kill Walt (though he may have wanted to, and didn't in defiance... I like what Gilligan said about that, that totally works for me). Walt's confession to Skyler was a climax moment, sure. |

I half expected Jesse to drive the car into a chasm or something, but glad he got away. Really glad the bitch took the ricin, she was in some ways the worst of all. Wow, I don't know when we'll see a better series. |

There are other shows I love a lot (Mad Men will be our next big sendoff, even if it's two years away now instead of one), but Breaking Bad was very special, yes. Fantastic mix of genres... their performances, writing, directing, cinematography... all the cream of the crop. |

I appreciated that piece written by Damon Lindelof. It made me chuckle, and feel for him a bit. As one of those who hated the finale of LOST, it feels good to hear him say he cares that people didn't like it. But, I do feel for him that he's still haunted by it all these years later. I know how that feels to not be able to shake something from your past. Hope BB's finale really does enable him to let it go. |

I did go back and look, though, and your FIRST reaction to the Lost finale was 'It was OK', not 'I hated it'. (Of course, you may have hated it upon further reflection...). There's nothing they could have done to satisfy everybody. And some would never have been satisfied no matter WHAT they did. I didn't hate the ending of Lost, but I didn't love it like I've loved endings for my other favorite series. Lost was my favorite network show all six seasons it was on (following it, it's been The Good Wife, Seasons 2-4). I was entertained throughout, and I look forward to watching it all again 'someday' (if I should live so long to have the time). Some of the material (time travel in 5, a lot of the Sideways in 6) was wonky, but still fun. Like Twin Peaks before it, I embrace the imperfections of Lost, and love it anyway... Really looking forward to Lindelof's The Leftovers for HBO. Really enjoying Cuse's Bates Motel on A&E (one of my favorite newbies from last season), and I'm looking forward to his and Guillermo Del Toro's The Strain for FX. I get Lindelof's dueling senses of being self-deprecating and defensive about it... and while I do enjoy the interviews and essays he's done about the show since it ended... I do hope he can stick with this vow to 'let it go'... because it does seem to cause him pain, and I like him personally. He really comes off as one of the good guys. |

I really feel for the guy. Lost revolutionized television, it was one of the best shows ever. The ending was 'eh' to me, but who cares? The BB writers are total gods to me, but if they had to write 24 episodes for 5 consecutive seasons I believe we would have seen a couple of clunkers there too. |

LOL! Well that made me go find the old LOST thread and read what I wrote. It was a case of disliking it the more I thought about it, especially after reading so many comments by people who were able spell out the many flaws of the show. It's funny, though, that when I meet people and talk about LOST most of them say they loved the finale, so I feel like a minority. I agree that Lindelof seems like one of the good guys. I've read interviews with him and he feels like an honest and genuine guy. And I still love seasons 2 and 3 of LOST, so I'm also looking forward to what he'll do with The Leftovers on HBO. |

And I'll sometimes feel like a minority (amongst internet 'voices', anyway) for NOT hating it... some places, it feels like that's the consensus... I don't think they fucked up the end of Lost, but with the kind of show it was... they gave themselves a REALLY difficult job... The Dexter finale is deserving of a lot more fan wrath, I think (except Dexter didn't ever inspire as much passion as Lost did, really, so it wasn't capable of 'disappointing' on as grand a scale...). Did you finish Sopranos 3? |

I lost Lost during the time travel phase. Thought it became increasingly stupider, and watching the handsome main men no longer was worth the plot so I can't even recall reading or caring about the end. I just felt it had so much potential then just started to smell like a big fart. |

Vince Gilligan was on Colbert, and Colbert pretended to lock him in the basement to write more episodes... |

Yeah. That was awesome. "DO IT! BITCH!" I had friends with facebook statuses the other night saying that they were looking forward to the new episode of Breaking Bad that night... Britney Spears is, you know, not the brightest girl... she was on twitter telling Aaron Paul that she didn't like the end, and hoped the paramedics would come and revive Walt a minute later... Nah. Walt dying at the end was right. So while Saul didn't die, we know now why his show will have to be a prequel... we last see Saul getting the 'disappear' treatment... change of name, location, profession... Better Call Saul will be set pre-BB, but the bonus there is that we could see Mike or Gus again, too, maybe... (and if they were to run long enough, it's possible they could do concurrent-with-BB or even post-BB, though that would, you know, require a big premise change...) |

Sorry, Dax! Somehow I missed that. Yes, done with S3 of Sopranos. Only 4 episodes left of S4. |

Wow, chugging right along... I won't ask you to try to keep going on show-by-show thoughts, but I'd be curious to see your general thoughts on 3 & 4 when you have some time... I've got something on 'Whoever Did This' (the most recent one you've seen) I'll wanna run by you... The Season 4 finale ('Whitecaps') is probably my favorite of their season finales... |

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/breaking-bads-vince-gilligan-inks-652117 Meanwhile, Anna Gunn has been cast in the 'Miller' role of Fox's remake of Broadchurch, called Gracepoint. Up again for now, at least... http://www.hitfix.com/news/watch-breaking-bad-alternate-ending-puts-walter-in-the-middle Totally fun. |

http://www.thewrap.com/aaron-paul-amanda-seyfried-fathers-and-daughters Fun. I like when co-stars from one thing do another thing together years later... (article says he played her boyfriend... true, but they also eventually married, so 'husband' is also accurate, though I guess that's a spoiler if you've never seen the show, and decide to take it on...) I'll be very interested to see where Aaron Paul's career goes from here. He's got pretty much every door open to him. Everyone wants to work with him. I expect he could be a movie star, but I'm hoping he'll settle into another high quality series... |

So do I buy this or not? http://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Bad-Complete-UltraViolet-Digital/dp/B00EEDNA4M/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1385503065&sr=1-1&keywords=breaking+bad+complete I'm hoping to get it a lot cheaper because I'm cheap but I don't want to miss out. ;) |

I want one. I don't think you have to buy now at $200, if that's too high... this likely isn't a 'limited-time deal'... I think I'll probably bite when I see it at $150... obviously, a $100 is better... I do have a set of the dvd releases (and will get the new release of the final eight, which is also out today for $25, but I'm hoping to see it for less in the next few days, maybe...). I do want the blu-ray barrel. Packaging is super-cool. A Pollos apron? Cool. All the extras that were on the dvd sets, plus more (there were some store exclusives on one or two of the releases, and I didn't get them, so... they're here, that's good...). But I do think it's 'wrong'/a bit greedy of Sony to make the 'No Half Measures' feature-length documentary on the making-of the final eight episodes a Full-Series set exclusive. People buying it a piece at a time who DON'T want to 'double-dip' shouldn't be denied getting that, I don't think... |
