Interview with Kevin Rankin, who plays white supremacist slimeball Kenny, shooting on Uncle Jack's side... (and who you may know from Justified, where he was white supremacist slimeball Devil...). http://www.vulture.com/2013/09/kevin-rankin-defends-the-breaking-bad-shoot-out.html |

WOW! Just WOW! Extremely satisfying episode. That there's two more just feels like icing on the cake. Surprised they found a way to squeeze in Walt's confession about Jane's death. This show has been so good at tying up loose ends, so I wouldn't have been bothered by having that one still out there somewhere. I had a feeling they'd use Jesse as a cook slave, though I wondered if acquiring Walt's 70 million would have made them less interested in cooking all together. Crazy fight scene with Walt and Skyler. So tragic, too. It wasn't until the second viewing that I caught on to Walt actually knowing the cops were there during the phone call. It all seemed too convenient. And, really? Walt doesn't think Skyler would have called the cops after he took Holly??? OK, he's doing what little he can do to help her look like less of an accomplice. |

Exhausting, but so, so good... Yeah, the phone call protects Skyler some... Opening scene was very powerful. Walt tried to save Hank. He REALLY did... he sacrificed the money. But oh, those parting words to Jesse... As I said a page or two back, I couldn't conceive of the scenario that would have Jesse learning the truth about Jane, but it HAD to be from Walt telling him (since nobody else knew)... I'm glad they found a way. Out of spite for Jesse's betrayal, JUST to hurt him so, so much before he's killed (or worse, turned into a slave cook, and yeah, that was something I saw coming, too...). Great work by Mitte. Would have liked to have seen HOW (what words they chose) Skyler and Marie told him, but we can't have everything... time is short. The knife fight was terrifying... believed that anything (except Walt dying, of course) could have happened there... Two more. |

I still have chills. Dax it was exhausting but so well done. Loved every second of it but of course not in a 'good' way. I can't believe Uncle Nazi killed Hank. Hank was so brave. He knew it was coming. He didn't grovel. I would have been crying like a baby. The fight was crazy. I was worried someone was going to get stabbed really bad by accident like Walt Jr. or Holly. Just insane. Then him leaving with the truck. I kept saying 'he can't just leave the car is parked behind him' and then he goes and backs up the car with the truck in the street. Crazy. Oh and taking Holly ... WTF was he thinking??? Did he 'know' he was going to return her or did he realize he's crazy? Poor Jesse (see Dax I spelled it right this time ;) ). I didn't see that he would be a Meth Cook Slave. I would have figured with $70 million that they would pack their bags and leave. Greedy bastards. And Walt telling Jesse about his girlfriend. Brilliant but what a bastard. I'm pissed at Walt for snitching on Jesse. I guess I'm #Team Jesse for the rest of the show. My husband keeps walking around this morning saying "TeamHank bites the dust". Oh my goodness, there is just so much to say and process. Opening scene was awesome. |

I have 3 banked and we are going away this weekend, so I will watch them all on the 28th and 29th when the final show is aired. I just can't handle the tension. It is like the show is over in 10 minutes and you are left wanting more. I am trying not to read the spoilers, it is hard as all of my friends are fans. |

So I've been mulling over last nights episode. Why in heck did Walt take the $ with him? I thought he was doing this all for his family but that's gone off the rails a long time ago. Another great line .... Walt: "We're a family." LOL ... He's so crazy. I'm thinking cancer has moved to his brain. |

Taking the barrel out of the truck and leaving it for his family was not an option at that point. And Jr. had called the cops... http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/breaking-bad-q-a-rian-johnson-on-directing-one-of-the-last-episodes-20130914 |

I'm embarrassed to admit, I was late on figuring out that Walt's call was a ploy to save Skyler. I thought he was in one of his megalomaniac moments. Still don't understand: why would he lead everyone to believe he killed Hank? He didn't, for Christ's sake. I hated him asking the Nazis to kill Jesse. I floved the Walt/Jesse relationship. Do you think there's some chance Walt could save Jesse from the Nazis at least? I'm sorry but I hated Walt Jr here. Okay he was in the right and all but the dude has kept the same monotone attitude for 5 freaking seasons. Enough. The knife fight was intense. I was painfully worrying that Holly or Skyler or Flynn would get injured. But it was just a red herring to keep us on the edge of our seats. Watching the last two - I'm sure - is going to be a highly demanding experience. |

Another thing I didn't understand: was that Walt's plan all along? I mean, when he kidnapped Holly, when he was changing her in the restroom, was he already planning to call and save Skyler? Or did he just change his mind from kidnapping her? |

IMO, Walt felt betrayed by Skyler and Jr. He was angry and reacted by taking Holly, as he knew it was the perfect way to get back at Skyler. I'd guess that hearing Holly say "Mama" repeatedly knocked some sense into him, in a way. As the day went on, he started coming up with another plan....one that didn't involve Skyler, Jr and Holly running away with him. I don't think he planned on returning Holly and calling Skyler until he had decided on another plan that made more sense to him. |

I think the chance of that happening is very slim. Walt rarely takes responsibility for his actions, so everything that happened in the desert is Jesse's fault. If Jesse hadn't gone to Hank, none of that would have happened. I doubt Walt would ever be able to forgive Jesse for what he believes was the cause of everything going so badly. |

Yeah I get that but dragging it around with him and not hiding it or something doesn't seem to be the most sane thing in the world. I'm still thinking his cancer has moved to the brain. |

Aback >> Do you think there's some chance Walt could save Jesse from the Nazis at least? SOME chance... like, yeah, I believe if Walt goes for Jack and his crew, and sees Jesse enslaved, there might be an opportunity for them to be on the same side again. But then I'd expect Jesse to kill Walt... >> dude has kept the same monotone attitude for 5 freaking seasons. Enough. I don't agree. What he played in this one was an entirely different thing from anything he's ever done before on the show. >> was that Walt's plan all along? I mean, when he kidnapped Holly, when he was changing her in the restroom, was he already planning to call and save Skyler? Or did he just change his mind from kidnapping her? I don't think there was a plan. He took Holly in the heat of the moment, and as the only part of his family that he COULD take, at that instant. (I did love Hader/Norris/Hardwick joking on Talking Bad that that is the MOST attention Walt has given Holly to date...) And then he calmed down, and yeah, the 'Mama' utterances coming from Holly... he changed his mind. Gate... if I have a barrel, and it has ten or eleven million dollars in it... I'm not going to leave it somewhere. I am going to keep it with me... that's not crazy. Cancer going to his brain... nah, he's too rational in the flashforwards, which I figure are three or so months from 'now'... 'Trauma' from the betrayal by Jesse, arrest by Hank, near death from the shootout, witnessing Hank's murder, long walk in the heat, discovery that Jr. knows the truth now, Skyler coming at him with a knife... these are all reasons enough for Walt to snap and steal Holly, though that's maybe not the most rational thing in the world to do... she was the ONE piece of his family he could retain, in that instant... I get it. But she's not better off with him, of course. |

Yeah, after sleeping it off I realized it was a plan Walt concocted along the way. The episode was just so much to bear I needed time to 'digest' all of it. It's so cool that the opening was their last scene to shoot. So maybe Walt's hair was real after all I was thinking for the whole time it was synthetic LOL It must have been a bittersweet day on set. |

She still has to get caught up so I'm going to have a marathon with her before the next episodes airs. Yes I'm excited and No I don't care if it sounds like I need to get a life. :P |

Wow! Cool episode. Pleased we got to see so much of the aftermath, as I was thinking the episode would start at the flash-forward. Tough to watch Walt up there in the cabin, nearly helpless. It was like watching him wither away. Creepy scene with Todd there in Holly's bedroom. Funny moment when Walt's attempt at threatening Saul is interrupted by a coughing fit. |

Congratulations to Anna Gunn for her Supporting Actress Emmy, and to the show, Best Drama series. - Saul definitely wise to say 'Um, nah, I'm out' to Walt... Robert Forster was fun. Todd so scary with Skyler. I get Jesse maybe gradually getting better at getting his handcuffs off, maybe getting a little bit closer to escape each time he tried... but I thought it odd that we saw him have two paperclips he could unfold... I mean, it couldn't have been the same one, because once bent, you can never get them BACK in the shape they were... Awful when he gets caught. Poor Andrea. Poor Jesse. Poor Brock. Flynn/Walt phone call was just brutal. So Walt gives up. That's it. It's over. Makes the call to turn himself in. Sees Elliott and Gretchen on Charlie Rose... PRIDE! Never surrender. (puff of smoke, 'and he's gone') Sigh. One more to go... |
