Do you know where this will be available?

At first it will be available online via their website soapclassics.com or if you call them for free to order direct. The other option (though this does not happen immediately) is Amazon. Both ATWT sets became available on Amazon within a couple weeks of their website. At this point, they do not have a list of stores that carry the sets.

Roger from We Love Soaps announced that the list of episodes is coming out this week (hopefully tomorrow, he said it would be on Tuesday, and apologized and said Wednesday.)

Only $24. That's a steal.

As a way to advertize they've posted a free episode online - Phillip throws a birthday party for Mindy... a huge cast episode from 1983 and gold in every scene...

(Thanks bloss for the link...)

Good list. Several there I'd be interested in seeing (especially those that I didn't, the first time around...).

Really happy the Ed/Mo cabin confrontation is on there (one of the more memorably poorly-timed local pre-emptions of my soap-watching life).

The Alex/Roger episode is marvelous.

Must remember to watch that online episode before it goes away...

I'm thrilled with the selection of episodes. So glad they included Phillip lashing out at Justin and Alan after finding out he's adopted, and Kelly confronting Nola for her lies. Does that episode with Maureen and Ed include her scene with Lillian? Because to me that was much better than the Mo/Ed confrontation. The Maureen/Lillian scene is probably my favorite of anything I've ever witnessed in daytime drama.

Otherwise I think they did an excellent job of choosing episodes. Very surprised the Cassie/Richard wedding isn't included. Shocked to see that Carrie is! Under the online ep (which is also stellar, by the way -- I was stunned at how moved I was when watching Phillip declare his love to Beth) it says there are many more releases to come. That makes me a happy camper. I think the only thing that would've been better is if they had broken these up by storylines rather than episodes.

I have my set, anyone else. Have we decided how we are going to discuss them here? In this thread or individual ones?

Still waiting for mine. I'll go with the crowd, but maybe one thread in order to cross discuss?

Nice new SoapClassics.com release - two discs, 10 episodes... The Jennifer Richards Trial. I've read a lot about this over the years, of course, but it was 'before my time'...

>> Jennifer Richards was introduced to Guiding Light under tragic circumstances. In April of 1980, she, her husband, and her daughter Morgan were driving through Springfield when they were involved in a head-on collision with attorney Mike Bauer. Jennifer's husband was killed instantly, leaving her and Morgan alone in Springfield. Needing money, and harboring a dark secret, Jennifer stayed in Springfield, and took a job as household manager for the wealthy Lucille Wexler. Lucille learned Jennifer's secret and, as a result, tried to stab her to death. In the ensuing struggle, it was instead Lucille who was killed.

Lucille's dying words to her daughter, Amanda, were that Jennifer had tried to murder her. During her trial, Jennifer inexplicably confessed to the crime, and was given a long prison sentence. But her attorney, Mike Bauer, wasn't satisfied that justice had been done. He uncovered fresh evidence, which resulted in a new trial. The audience was riveted by the second trial, which had many surprising twists, and ended with a shocking revelation. This collection features ten consecutive episodes from January 1981, which tell the story of the trial of Jennifer Richards.

Bummer. Had hoped these would be available quite awhile longer...

--

An Urgent Message from SoapClassics

Because our distribution license for As the World Turns and Guiding Light expires soon, these DVDs will no longer be available once our current stock runs out.

If you were planning to fill out your collection, or to give some of our DVDs for Christmas, please act quickly. Some of our collection is already gone, but many of our best titles are still available.

We are also offering, as a Christmas special, a beautiful boxed set of our best ATWT titles. This is the perfect Christmas gift for any ATWT fan (including yourself!), and will certainly become a rare collector's item. We have only a limited number of these.

Sincerely,
Soap Classics
