I thought all three stories in #5 were pretty strong. I find this show a LOT better/more interesting than Blue Bloods. |

The last one was slightly better, or maybe I am just getting more used to it. Needs a bigger cast, 3 people can't carry a show unless they are stellar and none of these are. If this show was filmed anywhere but Chicago, no way I'd be watching. |

>> 3 people can't carry a show unless they are stellar and none of these are. There are 7 in the cast, and I think Lindo's giving a great performance. Vonda and Isaac are in need of greater development, sure, but we're only five episodes in... Liam's role dictates a limited amount of interaction with the other regulars, of course... |

Beal is as woody as Selleck in BB. They could get the most woody male and female performances on prime time today. |

I liked Beal's stuff in this one, with the bitch sister and dummy brother-in-law... I don't love or hate her as an actress, but 'wooden' isn't a word I'd think to apply to her here... (but Selleck on BB, yeah, agree... but it also kinda works for him...) |

She was better with this week's plot. Where have I seen the sister woman before? It was driving me nuts. Yes, bro in law is a moron. |

I like the actor, though, Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note on Prison Break; was on Ryan's late, great FX show, Terriers). Victoria Platt (Colvin's sister) was on ABC's summer filler The Gates last year... but before that, she was Vicky Spaulding #2, and married her co-star Terrell Tilford, who was David Grant #3... |

Thank you Dax!!! I thought she was on GL, and I forgot about the Gates. Also the guy, I knew him from somewhere too, was PB for sure. The show I hated to love. |

Sigh. Still watching, but FFing through a lot. it's nto working for me, though I liek all the three main actors and characters but I can't focus on the show as a whole. I'll definitely watch the next eppy as it's supposed to be really good, but after that? Who knows. A quick question about the niece. i though she was already dating or else her partner, but in this eppy it looked like they weren't. Did I miss something or is it a rewrite? |

The third and fourth aired were the tenth and eleventh produced, so there have been some 'wait, this should have come before, shouldn't it?' moments... yes, in this one (eighth aired/sixth produced), it felt like we were going backwards somehow in the Isaac/Vonda relationship, it had felt like they were more 'together' already, but... anyway. |

I liked this new eppy much better than the previous ones. Still not crazy about the show and i still FF a bit here and there, but unliek Mad Love or CHAOS, I want to watch it or follow it for now. BTW is Jarek a usual name in the States? |

Jarek isn't common, no. Chaos has been cancelled here, after three aired. Canadian import Flashpoint, a CBS summer show, is getting an earlier start. I liked this episode of The Chicago Code, but missed Gibbons... Other than the daytime soaps or talk shows, I wouldn't bother watching a show I was ever compelled to fast forward through any part of... gotta be all or nothing. |

Last couple episodes were pretty good (but I was only 'eh' on the two or three before them). The ending was 'satisfying', but I expect Gibbons would have walked easily enough, probably pretty early into a second season... |

Hm. Guess not, actually... Shawn Ryan e-mail to Alan Sepinwall >> We planned all along to wrap up the Gibbons story this season. In fact, we signed Delroy Lindo to only a 1 year contract. Having said that, Delroy loved the role and we talked about bringing him back for 2-3 episodes in Season 2. But the main thrust of Season 2 would be a brand new story with a couple of new characters. I always envisioned it a bit like the old show Wiseguy -- new villains and new characters every 10-13 episodes. |

I'm glad they've wrapped it and got him, such a sleazeball. |
