I was thinking six to eight weeks (since the zombies started).

Not sure how long ago the hospital was abandoned, but yeah, it's quite a stretch that Rick could have survived for very long unattended (but the pilot makes it looks like it's been 'awhile', like, a few weeks). I'm willing to suspend a lot of disbelief there... Miracle. Amazing 'luck'.

IV bags only last a couple of hours, and a person would get dehydrated enough to die after a couple days without fluids. I am also suspending belief on that one.

lol I hadn't even give any thought to the iv bag yet. I was wondering about the time line because even he his wife thought him dead she sure jumped into sex with the partner quick. Hubby and I were thinking maybe they had a thing before he was shot because we remember him in the car talking about the problems in the marriage.

Dax bone is easier to cut through than chain? I didn't know that. I was thinking about the pain involved more than anything else. But he did sorta seem a little half crazed on the roof so maybe he wasn't feeling much pain while cutting.

Asshole, asshole.....everywhere in asshole......in this eppy. I totally agree! I hated the guy back in camp who was beating his wife more than Merle, though. Did anyone else think of T-Bag from Prison Break when they saw the hand? :P

Definitely the weakest eppy so far. How many are left, three?

I was all prepared for them to get smeared with zombie guts and wear some more intestines and feet necklaces. So I wonder where ol' Handless Merle is off to? :plzdie:

Three down, three to go (this season).

Speaking of T-Bag, did you hear he's coming back? 'Breakout Kings', the new A&E show from the Prison Break people which seems to lift the Prison Break Season 4 premise and apply new characters to it... Knepper will be back playing Bagwell in at least one episode, likely recurring...

When is this breakout show coming? T bag was the best villian!

Yes, the hand thing was hard to swallow, then he would either bleed out or die from an infection. At least he'll be less dangerous with one hand.
Hope these assholes are zombie food soon!

Breakout Kings - no date set yet, but early '11, I think... (it was a pilot at Fox last year, and they picked Lone Star instead... oops. There was enough heat on it to get a cable pick-up, though... A&E grabbed it).

Well good for them! They are sooooo much better off on A&E than on those stupid networks. T-Bag was a fabulous villain! :applause:

I saw on EW site that the second season of Walking Dead will probably not air until next October. I hope they reconsider this :(

Yeah, I hate when they take so long between seasons.

It's not so much a matter of reconsidering... it's highly unlikely that a batch of episodes COULD be ready to air before then. Perhaps September, but I'd understand waiting another month to (again) capitalize on their Halloween promotions.

The major reason we only got six (besides the financial gamble - what if this had been a miss?) this time around is so that they COULD be ready for Halloween.

Well darn Dax, I was hoping it was just the media reporting wrong again lol. I guess I just should be happy that they are even bringing it back...but sheez, hope there isn't a major cliff hanger on the last show.

I'm expecting a cliffhanger.

I'll definitely be anxious for more, but I'm 'okay' with waiting... as long as there IS more coming... the worst thing is when we don't know, when our favorites are in a long limbo between renewal and cancelation (as In Treatment was between 2 and 3)...

The usual year-long waits between seasons for an HBO, FX, or AMC... it's okay. Quality takes time. We would not be happy if they cranked them out like sausage. The shows would not be as good.

(Advance warnings help, too. Knowing that The Walking Dead's first season was only going to be six... we could prepare for that. Having to wait 3 or 4 months longer than usual for Breaking Bad 4... hurts, but at least they let us know a long time in advance... it's not an ugly 'surprise' in March when the show doesn't start...)

Has season 4 of Breaking Bad been postponed?

It's going to premiere in the summer instead of its usual March-June slot. AMC wanted to come out with it at a less crowded time (and get better ratings with it).

Bad: Waiting. Good: Gilligan was glad to get a little bit of rest.

Bad: He was worried that he might lose some of his crew if they needed jobs sooner. Good: We're very probably gonna get Mad Men AND Breaking Bad at the same time? How awesome is that?

Good for any other leading actor (Jon Hamm, Hugh Laurie, Michael C. Hall, etc.) -- Bryan Cranston will not be eligible for an Emmy this year (he's won three years in a row...).

Boooo waiting for Breaking Bad, maybe my fav of all time next to Deadwood. But as you say, ratings. And I should be happy to have another season of Walking Dead too as this is the type of show that does not make it alot of the time.

Only one more episode left. sniff, sniff..... :(

This is a tough series to watch.....cast members are dropping like flies. Although I was happy to see that the wife abuser was zombie dinner. So sad about the sisters, though.

I like Darryl for some reason. He is growing on me.

Just read this about Frank Darabont firing the writing staff. I wonder how this will affect the show? And am also bummed we will have to wait until next October for season two.

Kirkman sets my mind at ease on this here. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Walking-Dead-Writing-Staff-1026363.aspx

I have enjoyed a lot of Eglee's work over the years, but it's very good news that Darabont has elected to continue on Walking Dead for another season.

There appears to be quite a bit of anti-Darabont-personally commentary amongst the deadline posters... maybe not at Matthew Weiner levels, but there's some hate out there for him...

I met Darabont once, thought he seemed like a nice enough guy... I love his movies (haven't seen The Mist yet...).

People need to get over it, get a life, and quit their bitching. Online people can be so whiny! Present company excluded, of course! :P

I also noticed the Darabont hate on that site. If the hate for Weiner is even stronger, I'd like to read some of those comments.

I've lost a good deal of interest in this show. The only characters that I developed any kind of attachment to were the father and son we saw in the pilot. Are they back, yet? I don't know if I'll watch the finale.

Morgan and his son aren't back yet, no.

I'll send a link, next time Mad Men is in a story over there. Weiner is arrogant and a total control freak and brilliant, and he seems to engender a lot of hate.

I like the show, better shows have gone under sure, but it's different for TV and holds my interest anyhow.

Ditto. And it's one the hubby and I like to watch together which is rare. Usually he likes something better than me or vice versa. It's more fun when we watch a show we both enjoy equally. Like this one......and Glee........and Survivor....and Friday Night Lights. I think that's about it!

The finale was OK, but I don't know why they put them in the CDC, was not much of an addition to the SL. I can't believe the whole world has this virus or whatever since there are remote areas where there is no contact with anyone. Also, these people were in Texas, and they only came up with one bag of guns? Shit, that is fantasy for sure.

Also, what happens when the zombies outnumber everyone and everything? A zombie may catch some domestic animals but could not even have caught my ancient cat, so do they starve to eat one another? Very limited prognosis for them anyhow.

So I guess they will battle to stay alive, maybe search for a cure or something. Frankly I am astounded by the high ratings for this show when many superior ones have floundered. I will keep watching though.

>> but I don't know why they put them in the CDC, was not much of an addition to the SL.

Hope for some kind of safety... and then it wasn't there.

>> Also, these people were in Texas

Atlanta.

There were probably some guns on some of the military bodies outside the CDC, but they didn't have much of a chance to grab them (either on their way in or out of there...).

>> Also, what happens when the zombies outnumber everyone and everything?

Right. They're awfully hungry...

>> So I guess they will battle to stay alive, maybe search for a cure or something.

I don't think there'll be much about a search for a cure. Jenner said something about France, but that might as well be the moon...

>> Frankly I am astounded by the high ratings for this show when many superior ones have floundered.

I'm not at all surprised by this show's success. I think it's pretty awesome.

I thought they started out in Texas? They should have headed for AZ where they let toddlers carry guns.

:lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao: Krystal, you seriously crack me up.

I fell asleep during the finale so I have to watch it again! I think I enjoy the show so much because it's so different from anything else that's on, plus the lead guy is really growing on me.

So I guess the show isn't coming back until next October. That's a LONG damn time!

Love this show. I never could get my husband to watch it. I thought the ending was great at the CDC and boom. I also wonder why they are having so much trouble getting guns and ammo. Atlanta is still in the South and I would think they could walk into anyone's house and pic up whatever they need.

I'm sorry we didn't see more of Morgan and his son. I hope they finally hook up again next season.

As far as France being the last place that held up ... I'm wondering if it wasn't something in the wine. :D If I was this gang I would sail a boat to a deserted island and live out my days there Survivor style. ;)

Yeah, I read an interview with (creator) Robert Kirkman, and he said 'go to an island' in answer to advice on what to do when the zombie apocalypse hits. You know, when it really happens.
