THe promo made us think that Haddie would be the one who took the test. Really clever :)

The eppy was truly amazing, the hospital scenes were really good, especially with Max not getting it.

The ending was phenomenal. Adam seems to be the greatest husband ever. Actually, both JJ and AK seem to have great marriages as in they love each other and support each other and I always ee them discussing problems and you don't see them all lovey dovey all the time, but you see the real stuff.

I cannot recall whether I have seen the original film or not, have you?

Haven't watched the finale yet, but I'm not that concerned about spoilers (I did not think the pregnancy test would be Haddie's, that definitely felt like promo misdirection...).

The 1989 Ron Howard movie is really good, I remember - Steve Martin, Keanu Reeves, Martha Plimpton, Dianne Wiest, Joaquin Phoenix, Rick Moranis, Tom Hulce, Jason Robards, Mary Steenburgen... only resemblance to this show, though, is 'a big family' and the title, 'Parenthood'...

I don't recall ever seeing any of the 1990 tv sitcom... Ed Begley and Jayne Atkinson (Karen Hayes on 24)... David Arquette, Thora Birch, Leonardo DiCaprio (!)...

Good finale. Especially loved the Zeek/Amber/junkyard and Sarah/Amber/lobby scenes. Max's big blow-up at the hospital was great, too, yeah.

Glad Adam won't be working for Cory any more (definitely feels like I've seen their story before, with Joe on Medium in Adam's place...).

It was very weird with Cory. The whole plot.

Finally realized after nearly two seasons, where I'd seen Mae Whitman before. No, not recently.... I caught her on a stripped repeat of a JAG episode. She had a recurring role as the orphaned "little sister" of Colonel Mackenzie... She was about 10.

whoop.

Okay, but didn't you watch Arrested Development?

Oh I knew she'd been in a bunch of stuff the last few years but I meant long ago. The JAG stuff was 98-01.(And nope, never saw Arrested Development. It's on the list.)

Ah. Yeah, that run predates AD (ooh, you'll enjoy that), '02-'04. Looks like she did a bunch of Chicago Hope from '96-'99... hm, a '96 Friends (she'd have been 8...), movies Hope Floats, The Gingerbread Man... huh, Independence Day (also in '96)... whoa, this is neat, don't think I noticed this before - FIRST thing was When A Man Loves A Woman in '94, as Meg Ryan's daughter, and Whitman's sister is Tina Majorino (Veronica Mars, Big Love, Napoleon Dynamite). Fun.

Wow....so I probably "remember" other stuff too. When I caught the JAG episode it wasn't so much her face/look as her mannerisms and facial expressions that caught my attention.

And if she was 8 in'96 she was older than 10 when playing a kid and older now than I thought. lolol

She was on Grey's, too.

Izzy's patient who couldn't walk and Izzy paid or wanted to pay for the surgery. Shortly after ehr comeback in the third season.

Also, One Fine Day with George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The film is on TV now, I'm recording it, I cannot wait to watch it. I think I'll have to before the Royal wedding as I want to record too many hours on that day.

Finally. I persuaded hubby to watch the film with me. We really like it. I think our show is a really nice tribute to the film. I really liked the characters. Especially the women. Some scenes were really heartbreaking. Gary calling his Dad and his Mum watching made me cry.

I wish it was longer and more airtime for the Mum (Helen Shaw?). Anyway, really nicely written and performed. Isn't Martha Plimpton just adorable? Everyone was great. I watched Edward Scissorhands the previous day, Diane Wiest is simply phenomenal. All in all, it made me miss our Parenthood even more.
