I watch reruns of Friends almost daily. ER, the reason I watch the finale was I've heard about Doug and Carol and then I may have watched the rest til the end, plus I've seen few eppys on TV from the finale season. I know I didn't know the real new ER then but I sometimes watch the series finales of shows I stopped watching jsut out of curiousity and this just didn't look like the finale I'd expected after so many years. |

Luka and Abby's stories being tied up already gave everybody remaining a kind of... 'P.S.' feeling. Neela's love triangle wasn't that complicated... the new guy jerk that nobody really liked, or Ray (who'd been off the show a few years already, but would pop up as a guest sometimes)... not a great deal of suspense there... I was glad Carter didn't die, and that he had a reunion for his friends (wish Chen had been there, too). The first day of new interns (Rory! Rachel Greene!) was good. |

7.18, the musical - Big thumbs up from me. Especially loved Sara Ramirez at the end... What did everybody else think? |

Loved loved loved it. I cried during some of the songs. Sara Ramirez (Callie) was amazing during the whole show. Lexie's 'Breathe' had me in tears and Bailey was just plain awesome as usual. My husband thought it was OK ... he's such a poop sometimes. :P |

I have mixed feelings about the eppy. Great singing, I didnt' like the directing / cutting / screenplay too much, the singing didn't fit at few points and the whole eppy didn't work for me as a whole. On the other hand, some individual scenes were amazing and it made me cry more than once. It's just that it was another "eppy with the bomb" for me and it didn't feel that serious at times. I didn' love it, but I think I liked it and I liked it more than some of the eppys in the fourth season, or fifth. The songs were brilliant though, my personal favourite, obviously, Chasing Cars, Breathe, How to save a life and The Story. |

We keep neglecting this thread :( Did you like the finale? I wasn't much impressed. The thing I hate most about it that Cristina is again in the same situation and I find it really lame. How come that someone who is so against having children gets pregnant by accident TWICE? This won't cease to bother me. Take the stupid pill, you're a doctor for Pete's sake. Also, if there is one more female character who gets pregnant before Meredith, I'll scream (and record it and post it here for you all to hear!). Do you think they will keep Zola? I worry that as it is just temporary they will take her away from them. BTW I loved the scene when Mer talks about Zola's surgery and the interviewer tells her that this is what mums do, they brag. So sweet. I think she'll be a great Mum. Shonda said that Alex, mer and Cristina would be devastated at the end fo the season. I don't see it with Alex. His romance with Lucy was so short and mostly off screen, they didn't make me to invest in them. I liked her a lot but I didn't see Alex really falling for her the way he did with Ava or Izzy. It had nothing on the finale when he had to commit Ava and izzy found him crying. |

I liked the finale a lot. It all pretty much worked for me. Yeah, I don't think Alex is much upset about Lucy at all, but a bunch of other things... |

I liked it, I think. It just didn't feel like a finale too much. I don't like some plots, but it was well acted at least. Nice Cristina and Mer interaction. As for Alex, I think Shonda said somewhere how devastated he'd be as this was his first shot at love after Izzy. Also, hated, hated, hated the way Mark handed Lexie to Avery, what a chauvinist. I would be OK with him saying "I won't try to get between you too. FULL STOP." But the actual dialog was pretty condescending, IMO. |

Mark's an ass. That was perfectly in character. Alex/Lucy might be different if Charlie's Angels hadn't been such a lock so early on (did you read the Shonda interview where she exhaled a deep sigh of relief that Scott Foley's pilot didn't go?), but as played... yeah, it wasn't a very 'deep' relationship, and Alex didn't even blink when he was going to be the one moving, but as soon as he comes around to the thought of 'committing', and SHE'S the one going... yeah, he feels all 'betrayed'. Whatever. He really WAS an idiot to think that snitching on Meredith wasn't going to blow up horrendously... I did like that, as upset as Mer (understandably) is with him, when she's alone with the baby, she knocks on his door for help and discovers his shit is gone ('oh, that's right, I told him to get out...'). Derek not answering his phone is stupid, as is Mer not texting 'Hi. Um... I have Zola here...' Sandra Oh is terrific. All the Owen/Cristina scenes were very well-played. |

I would love for Mark to grow bit. It seems he never does. One step forward, two steps backward. Alex / Lucy didn't do it for me, I blame writing. I think they've destroyed Lucy in the musical eppy when she looked like an incompetent moron and it didn't make sense at all. Sure, it was a difficult procedure, but she's supposedly at one of the best hospitals in the States, she msut be really good. I'd love for Lucy to stay. I have the same problem with Alex/Lucy and Teddy/Henry. If I didn't love SF that much, I wouln't even root for them. AGain, not enough time on screen for us to get really invested. Shonda can't expect from us to jsut lvoe them because SF is soooo amazing. But I'm unhappy with Teddy's personal life most of the time. I can't put my finger on it, I just don't care. I love her as a doctor and a friend to Owen and mentor to Cristina, but they really need to work on her private life more for me to get invested and understand the character better. I totally missed when Mer told him to get out. I find the whole plot stupid anyway - him KNOWING she had done something and then him telling on her out of spite. It wasn't ecause he thought it was the right thing to do. On the other hand, I really hate the whole plot on Mer's side as well. It looks like she did it without caring what it would mean for Derek and the trial. I really need to see her saying she is sorry and it was difficult for her to do it knowing how much it would affect the trial and their careers. I didn;t see the conflict there. As for MerDer calls. I really hope that she will text /VM him about Zola in next scene or he'd pick up / call her back. Sandra Oh is pure perfection. BTW I've jsut watchec the GG eppy, I think it's 702 or 703, when Rory is sad Logan is in London and they won't go to Asia for summer and Lor makes Asia for her at home and there's a poster of Sandra Oh, so cool. I saw Ellen on USA Today or somewhere where she talked about the adoption SL and I really loved what she had said. How she fights for the SL to be true and believable and how she wants to do justice to it. As women approach her and shae their own stories. Anyway, I love all her ionterviews, she seems to be so down to earth and lovely. |

>> I think they've destroyed Lucy in the musical eppy when she looked like an incompetent moron and it didn't make sense at all. Recoverable. That was just a big 'Addison is better' moment, wasn't it? 'Stand aside, newbie'... I thought Teddy/Henry was fine, but Teddy/Andrew was too-little-time to take very seriously as a real conflict or 'oh, she's going to go away with him'. The deck was pretty heavily stacked. Oh, it's a HUGE conflict, but... right, Meredith was going to do what she was going to do, and that it's Adele justifies it in her eyes, but not Derek's, of course... I was bothered during the period when Richard and Derek were confused, wondering why she might have done whatever, when it was so obvious.... I don't know. I understand what Meredith did (morally), and don't think it REALLY invalidates the trial, only the randomness of the drug/placebo... she just shouldn't have gotten CAUGHT (by Alex), and Alex shouldn't have ratted her out (from anger or jealousy or righteousness...), but drunk/hurt/defeated... the moment in the bar worked. |
