So, is anyone watching this season? I know Bilki has caught a few. I just love this show. It's so much fun and exciting seeing the final projects as they go finally go down the runway.

Those were some whacked out hats this week. Can you imagine paying thousands of dollars for one of those designer hats? I don't think so! I totally disagreed with the judges on who won and who went home. I like April but those goofy looking three-layered diaper shorts were hideous. I think she should have gone home. And I think the guy with the orange skirt and the structured v-neck top should have won. You never know with these judges. So Bilki--how do you rate the judges on PR? Michael is my favorite......love it when he hates something and uses those hilarious analogies! He always makes me laugh.

I found this on YouTube. I remember it from one of the reunion shows but it's so much fun to watch and listen to Tim and all of his wonderful words again. I *heart* Tim!!!

Have caught some but am not as devoted as in years past. In the end I agreed with the winning designer for the hat challenge and also the losing designer. Her outfit looked very poorly made and was not at all in keeping with the hat. RE: April: The triple diaper thing was beyond awful but I saw where she was going with it re: resortwear and thought the top had definite potential.

I think Gretchen is talented but she's a major spoiled little baby. Zoe was right when she said that she (Zoe) just needed to get over herself. I have thought the same thing since the first time she opened her mouth. She doesn't seem to have the talent/skill to back up her attitude. Gretchen seems to, but she is such a class monitor/teacher's pet sort of person (although it is actually her talent that has gotten her so many wins--some of which very undeserved, imo: cough cough: billboard challenge, anyone? That would not have made my top 3). I like Valerie (think that' her name: small, dark haired, always the bridesmade in these challenges? She should be walking away with most of the wins snagged by Gretchen, imo)

Nina is the only judge I actually respect. There are times when I dislike designs that she praises but for the most part I think she takes an objective view at what the designers present. Michael and Heidi are for entertainment purposes only, as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't have it any other way, though. When Michael and Nina were often absent for the first Lifetime season, I didn't like it much at all. I count on Michael for his gay humor, Nina for her discerning eye and for Heidi being relatively pointless.

Christopher isn't the guy who I was thinking of when you asked me about him, but I do think he's handsome. I thought I noticed another guy who was more ruggedly handsome (Christopher is more of a pretty boy) but maybe I was seeing things. When I looked up their pics on the Lifetime site, I couldn't find the one I thought I saw standing on the stage.

Nina cracks me up the way she's always rolling her eyes. Too funny. Christopher was the one this week who all of the contestants thought for sure was going to win yet he ended up surprisingly in the bottom three.

So does anyone know why they don't do the model show anymore? I thought it was interesting to watch the entire process.

They decide to make the regular show 90 minutes and in doing that the Model show went. I like hearing more from the designers.

This week's was cool. Gretchen is annoying. Even Tim called her out, which is something he normally doesn't do.

Thanks. I don't mind the regular show being a little longer. It still goes by in a snap!

I adore the new 90 minute show! Loved that Tim snapped on bitchy Gretchen this week! I liked her at first then all of the sudden she became a Hydra!

I must say that Casanova creeps me out a BUNCH! I love weepy Michael C. Christopher is going to be one to watch. He is so subtle and laid back, I think he might just kick everyone's ass!

OMG......I know!!! How GREAT was that?!? Here's Tim's little speech at the end for anyone that missed it. Or wants to watch an encore!

I think Tim felt that Gretchen should have gone instead of A.J. It was like "The Emperor's New Clothes" the way they all followed her lead blindly. Their collection was HAWW-RIBLE. I was THRILLED for the "outcasts"!!! :applause:

I was thrilled that Tim called Gretchen out. Not that it will do any good, ultimately.

Ivy's design was by far the worst. Her inspiration seems to have been a particularly off day in the costume dept. of Golden Girls. Done badly. If Peach--or anyone over 35 had sent this down the runway, t hey would have been deemed hopelessly out of touch and Auffed! immediately.

I was tired of Casanova the first day and it has not improved. Although he is talented.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone be so gracious and thankful upon being auffed. Peach was so great! The dress was really, really horrible though!

Love that Michael C. won again and Ivy and Gretchen were so danged nasty about it! I'd like to smack both of them!

I know....Peach was such a sweetheart! Poor April, she was losing it after Peach was "auffed".

Ivy and Gretchen were sore losers. I just don't get all of the disdain for Michael C. He's won two challenges now and they refuse to give him credit for it. Instead they criticize the judges. No wonder Tim said what he said to Gretchen last week. I would LOVE to hear his real opinion on those mean beyotches!

I think part of why April was upset was now she has to move in with the other women as she was roommates with Peach.

Well that and you could see that Peach was almost like a mother to her....it was sweet. Peach will definitely be missed. What a great spirit she has!

Was so glad to see Michael C. finally catch a break this week when he and Mondo were paired up for the team challenge. Mondo of all people knows what it feels like to be isolated and shunned by his peers. It just goes to show how a mob mentality can take over and change a person's perspective on another person, especially when it's negative bullshit. But it takes a big man to say you were wrong about someone and this made me respect Mondo even more.

Was thrilled for April for her win......it's difficult to believe she's only 21. Personally I LOVED Andy's bathing suit and coverup but hey, he came in a close second.

Ivy really dodged a bullet with her godawful drab outfit which she blamed totally on the other Michael. WTF???

Kristin Bell rocks!

I think Ivy should have gone. She is just there for the drama. And the idea that Cassanova's grandmother would wear a blouse with that back, maybe if she was Susan Sarandon!

I totally agree that Ivy should have been auffed. Both outfits were pretty dull but hers was the worst. I will miss Casanova as he's totally grown on me.

Tim Gunn was on Jon Stewart the other night. I didn't realize he had a new book out (Gunn's Golden Rules), it sounds way interesting! Love that he's so opinionated......the Anna Wintour story was hilarious! I'm seriously thinking of buying the book now.

Ivy should have definitely been the one to go! I'm not a Casanova fan but he should still be there!

Also was thrilled with Mondo's realization that Michael C. is not the incompetent boob that everyone has been making him out to be!

Oh man. What an emotional episode this week. I don't think I've ever cried during an eppy of PR but Mondo's story and eventual confession to the judges on the runway about being HIV positive and keeping it a secret for so long opened up the floodgates. And just when I thought I was all done boo-hooing, Valerie's little speech to each contestant at the end started me up again. :weeping:

This is turning out to be such a good season. I'm so glad they quit being so mean to Michael.....and that Gretchen isn't the witch I thought she was at first.......and that they genuinely seem to care about each other. That's so rare in these competitive reality shows. No surprise here, I'm rooting for Mondo all the way. I just LOVE the way he mixes his prints. What a talent!

I don't know. I think I am just cynical right now. I do think Gretchen is the witch I thought she was and so much more witchy. I find that I am....underwhelmed with the talent of the contestants this year, and sad about that. Very few designs have been anything other than very, very, very forgettable to me.

Am sorry to see Valerie go, although I think it was the right choice. She seems like a very good person.

LOL....nahh....you're probably right and Gretchen IS the witchie-poo she was portrayed as earlier in the season! I do think she's a little snarky and opinionated (guilty!) but she doesn't seem as cutthroat lately and all of the other contestants seem to like and respect her. I totally felt for her when all the other moms were arriving and she feared her mom wouldn't be there because she had no money and couldn't be away from her sick husband for any length of time. My hubby has been facing the exact same thing with his mom and his stepdad for the last 7 years......it's sad, but true. Gretchen was ready to be snarky until the minute she saw her mom and lost it. She was like.....almost human for an instant. I think it got to me. Snap out of it, Cheryl! :slap:

I disagree about the talent of these designers. I've been a huge Mondo fan since early in the competition. The way he manages to mix totally different prints together and turn them into something unique and beautiful is amazing to me. I also think Andy is good, although a lot of his stuff is too crazy for me. Aside from this week where he totally lost it, I think he's been pretty consistent.

Christopher....well, I just love looking at his sweet, beautiful face so he can go on being middle of the road for a few more episodes. I keep wishing he would come out with something that would wow us because I think he has it in him. OMG.....his boyfriend is a hunk, too! :wub1:

I think April has HUGE potential. I just wish she would get away from the black and experiment a bit more with color.

This was absolutely my fave show of the season. Probably because I'm a ridiculously sappy nudnik. :P

I do think that Mondo is talented. Andy is, too but his designs are not my thing. I get the talent and the skill but...

The rest may be skilled in terms of construction (although I haven't seen that really) but for the most part, are awfully....boring, to me.

I think that Gretchen is extremely self-centered or at least comes off that way. There is being self-possessed, but even how she reacted to Mondo's announcement was more about her than him.

I was shocked that I didn't cry about Mondo, even though I was emotional. Liked Valerie's goodbyes. I think she got caught up in groupthink, but in general is a nice person. I wonder if the reason Tim got so choked up in the room was because he figured out what Mondo's print was really about. April is only 21, in time she may embrace color.

So Michael C. made it to the finale. Good for him! They've got me doubting his abilities as well. That Statute of Liberty dress looked like it was either going to be a nightmare or Dullsville City. And lo and behold, Michael Kors calls it a showstopper. :wow:

Mondo is so awesome. I can't wait to see his final collection. I'm rooting for him all the way!

Can someone explain why everyone hated Michael C. in the beginning?

Re: Michael C's Statue of Liberty inspired dress. Personally I am extremely bored by the black black black black that the judges consistently love. That said, I think the dress was beautiful and simple and I liked it, which is why I was surprised the judges did. I think that this was one case where you needed to see the fabric in person to fully appreciate the outfit.

I also loved Mondo's dress. To me, he is the most consistently creative and capable of executing his vision. I predict that he will win, easly.

As far as I know, it seemed to begin when that whiny loudmouth, Ivy, started saying that Michael C. couldn't sew. Of course, Gretchen jumped on the bandwagon and it seemed to snowball from there. I recall when they had the team challenge that he struggled with the sewing but as far as I'm concerned, he wouldn't be there if he didn't know how to sew. What I DID like was that after working with him in another team challenge, Mondo became his biggest fan. And Andy seems to have softened towards him as well. I think it's just another case of bullies being very mean and vocal and the rest of the gang just following suit. Ivy seems to be a spiteful, horrible person. I can't believe she accused him of "cheating" and was glad that Tim stuck up for him. Here is what Tim had to say about it:
Quote:

“Here’s my take of the tape: Michael had nothing to do with it. It was his model who took the initiative to tape herself into the dress. By the time that this was brought to our attention, the challenge in which it happened was well behind us. It was, indeed, a mean-spirited attack on Michael. And how did Ivy think we were going to respond to her accusations? Did she think that Michael would be disqualified and that we’d bring her back? Ridiculous.”

Nuff said.

P.S. How cute is Swatch the dog at Mood?

Swatch gives Tim a run for his money. I especially enjoy watching Tim play with Swatch.

I think it is interesting that Bravo is going to give former Runway designer, Chris March a show.

Happy about Mondo! Ivy just hated Michael C, I think Michael is self-taught so he doesn't know terms and certain things everyone else knows. This must have been frustrating in a team situation. I think without her around things got better. What is insane to me is it sounds like all 10 people who made decoy collections got home visits from Tim.

I didn't hear about Chris March's show. That's awesome! He was such a character. Does anyone watch the show with Santino and Austin Scarlet? I don't but it looks interesting.

BL--I agree about Michael C. being self-taught. Sewing was Ivy's forte so anyone that wasn't up to her skill level was looked upon with disdain. There's more to designing than just sewing, thank goodness.

I can't believe no one has posted about this yet. Is anyone else as absolutely outraged that they auffed Michael C and kept Gretchen and Andy? His work was MUCH better and the judges seemed to actually like it better. Gretchen's wasn't crunch granola: it was soggy granola, and boring. Andy's green dress was nice and but the bikini? Ug-lee. And tacky.

And honestly: can anyone imagine seeing people walking around wearing bloomers? Do we really want to?
Beyond furious.

I was angry about this, but then I thought of people who were fourth and felt a bit better as this has happened more than once on this show. It sucks, and really Michael C shouldn't have been competing as he and Mondo were not in the bottom two the last week.

From what I am reading about the web, Michael C is Roma which is fascinating...
