Matt should make an interesting HOH, though I think I'd rather Ragan had gone for it. Sounds like they made a deal and Ragan let Matt take the win. Hamsterwatch reports Matt wants to put Kathy up. I'd guess we'll see Brendon or Rachel up there with her. Maybe they'll backdoor Brendon.

Matt is saying Kathy and Andrew...and leading his brigade he will work to BD Brendan, but in reality not really wanting to do that. He likes that they are around as a target? personally I think he's higher on their list-to-go than the rest of the brigade so he better be careful if they are both playing for HoH next week.

Ragan supposedly let Matt have it in sympathy for Matt's wife. :puke:

Here is an article on the Matt stuff. Grrr! From The New York Post.

Sick joke backfires on 'BB'

In a new low for reality TV, the producers are allowing a "houseguest" to lie to other contestants that his wife is suffering from melorheostosis, a disease that strikes the young, bringing a lifetime of disability, deformity and pain.

On Wednesday night, despicable contestant Matt Hoffman snarked in his private video confession that he'd been spreading the word that his wife was striken with melorheostosis and that he was on the show to win the $500,000 first prize for an expensive operation.

"Just to be abundantly clear, my wife does not have melorheostosis or any other disease," he laughingly told the audience when none of the other "Big Brother" contestants could hear him. "Who would vote off a guy who's just trying to save his wife's leg?"

I can answer that! All the parents coping with a relentlessly progressive disease overtaking their children, that's who.

Matt says he first heard of the disease on a cable TV show and was simply spouting back what he could remember.

The Melorheostosis Association, for one, isn't laughing at this clever ruse.

"If Matt thinks melorheostosis is funny, he should look at the video on our Web site showing some of the beautiful little children afflicted with this catastrophic disease," Kathleen Harper, chair of the Melorheostosis Association (www.melorheostosis.com) told The Post yesterday.

Because the disease is so rare, there is little money for research and very little hope.

Yet, Hoffman squawked that, "If lies and sympathy get me the half million, I swear I'll make a sizeable donation to the foundation for this disease just for letting me use it and exploit it a little bit." But no, they didn't let you.

CBS responded by saying, " 'Big Brother' is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 . . . At times, the houseguests make comments, reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone."

Ragan told Matt (while Rachel) was still HOH that both she and Brendon really felt bad about Matt's wife and that if he made it to the final two they would vote on him so he could get the money for his wife. They really meant it and Ragan ran to tell Matt like his little lap dog. This started Matt's wheels turning on how he can keep them in until jury because he wants those two votes.

I think his biggest problem is how to do this without making the brigade mad at him.

In a way...I think that Matt and Regan are the two friends that Annie was talking about...I know...it was probably a lie. Both they seem to have a closeness that the other guys don't have. On one hand it seems like Matt is playing ragan but on the other Matt does look out for him and you can't count if he tells the other guys that he'd vote Ragan out cuz he's got to at least appear to agree with them.
Maybe Matt thinks he's Johnny Fairplay as far as making up an illness...shame there's no way for the other hg's to find out about it.

Saw on twitter today that Hamster Watch http://www.hamsterwatch.com/ has a link about Brendon. Evidently his Calif. Teaching credentials were suspended for 7 days. It's down at the bottom of the page where each persons rating is listed. The link takes you to a pdf file that names him. It does NOT say why. I, being the nosy person that I am, goggled the California Education Code Section 44421....
The code says, "The Commission on Teacher Credentialing shall privately
admonish, publicly reprove, revoke or suspend for immoral or
unprofessional conduct, or for persistent defiance of, and refusal to
obey, the laws regulating the duties of persons serving in the
public school system, or for any cause that would have warranted the
denial of an application for a credential or the renewal thereof, or
for evident unfitness for service."
But that doesn't really tell you anything either lol.

Whatever he did....probably it's tied to him not acting his age lol

Here is Julie's blog for the week. Nomination meeting is going on right now.

Julie Chen blogs 'Big Brother' episode 3
by Julie Chen
Categories: Big Brother, Reality TV, Television, – AD: Big Brother
Image Credit: CBSA lot of tears inside the house this week.
One of the misfortunes of winning a cash prize during the first week of a competition-based reality series is that you give your fellow players a reason to eliminate you – and I believe that’s what happened when Monet snagged the $10,000 prize during the first challenge. Whether or not that was the sole deciding factor for the House’s vote of 7-2 to eliminate Monet is uncertain, but it clearly gave Rachel and her fellow Housemates an excuse to hang their hat on.
I spoke with Monet after last night’s show and she’s in pretty good spirits despite the elimination. I think walking away with the $10,000 prize in hand definitely eases the pain. She did touch on how emotionally draining this past week has been for her and her trusted ally Britney. She also emphatically stated that she has no regrets for the trash talking seminars she and Britney held in the backyard. Those are two ladies I would never want to tick off.
I asked Monet if she had any parting advice for Britney and I was genuinely surprised by her answer. She suggested that Britney’s lifespan inside the house could be extended if she were able to team up with their rival, Rachel. A surprising but intriguing strategy if Britney could pull it off.
Now, let’s talk game play! Clearly, Matt had the move of the week by putting himself up as a pawn. WOW! An absolute risky move at this early stage of the game, when alliances are still fresh and can easily be broken and replaced by new ones. Whether or not his roll of the dice proves to be advantageous down the road is yet to be seen. He’s obviously playing both sides of the house and I personally think he took a hit when Rachel called him out during the House meeting. At the very least, he’s officially put a target on his back by announcing that he’s a player who is willing to lie and cheat to get to the end. EVERYONE DOES IT…JUST DON’T GET CAUGHT.
Coming out of last week, I was honestly starting to wonder what was wrong with Kristen. She was literally the quietest Houseguest I had ever seen. I’m glad to see her show some fire this week when she stood up for herself. Maybe laying low is her strategy, but I hope she wakes up and starts asserting herself a bit more. My gut tells me she has the potential to be a sleeper in this game. Maybe her secret “showmance” will spark some new life.
Speaking of “showmance”…which “showmance” do you think will last longer inside the house? The “Love Nerds” or Hayden and Kristen? Let me know your thoughts below.
I think the Brigade still holds the power in the house based solely on numbers, but Rachel and Brendon could prove to be a powerful alliance. I know I said it last week, but both are strong, both are bright, and if they stick together they might make a run at this. On the other side of the spectrum is Britney. Miss Arkansas could be in serious trouble depending on who snags this week’s HOH — or maybe she’ll adopt Monet’s advice and partner up with Rachel.
This is usually about the time in the game that we start to see a lot of scrambling inside the house and this upcoming week should be no different.
HERE ARE SOME GENERAL INSIDER FACTOIDS FOR BOTH THE POV AND HOH COMPETITIONS:
On the POV Competition:
* The dollar bills that the Houseguests were getting slapped with were over 8 inches long and the serial number on the Big Brother dollar bills was 19811450.
On the HOH Competition:
* The giant wave wall was 65 feet long and 12 feet high!
* The surfboards that the Houseguests balanced on were 8 feet long!
* The surfboards could be lowered to a 40 degree angle, increasing the difficulty of balancing!
BEST QUOTES OF THE WEEK:
Enzo: “It’s like Alcatraz with palm trees. I am about to go ‘Shawshank’ and spoon my way out.”
Rachel: (When I asked her if she would choose the half million dollars or Brendon?) “Brendon is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I would have to choose what’s best for me and Brendon.”
Matt: “Take it away Chenbot.” (I had to throw that one in there.)
WARDROBE QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
I received some questions regarding my wardrobe for last week’s LIVE show. Thanks for those. I was wearing Thierry Mugler last week and in case you’re wondering, last night’s outfit was Max Mara.
Thanks to all of you for the support. We have a great season on our hands and it only promises to get better.

BBDish reports that Matt nominated Andrew and Kathy.

I also saw that about Brendon at Hamsterwatch, lexi. And looked up the CA education code. LOL! I was disappointed that it was so vague. Maybe that code covers a wide range of misconduct, or someone will come forward to give us specifics. I wonder if a 7 day suspension would be regarded as a severe punishment.

I think it's rotten that Matt lying about his wife's condition to gain sympathy within the house but not the worst thing in the world. The NY Post article is just the kind of publicity that could bring more eyes to the show, and hopefully the Melorheostosis Association will get some much needed attention from this. I just hope Matt doesn't end up winning because a few HGs are gullible enough to believe him. As much as I'd like to see Rachel/Brendon sent packing, it would be funny if Matt helped keep them around and they were lying about voting for Matt to win the money.

In PA a seven day suspension is so very mild I can't even think what it would be. I have heard of teachers getting a one year suspension when convicted of drug possession...

I don't think it's drug related though...brandon has really been on Rachel about drinking...not just drinking in the house but outside too....wanting to know if she drinks everyday and that he doesn't want to be with someone that does. he doesn't mention it one time...the guy has a habit of repeating his opinions...over . Last night he was on her again about wearing mascara to bed...she said she wanted to look pretty and he just kept repeating she shouldn't wear it to bed...she's pretty enough.

He actually is on her quite a bit about things he's going to want to change in her....dont' see this love fest lasting outside and wonder how long it will last inside if he keeps this up.

not sure if i mentioned this before or if someone else did...but Ragan has a web site (he mentioned it, even said the addy)
http://www.raganfox.com/ if anyone is interested.

right now they are doing pov contest.....i still have the feeds even though i canceled them...like last year they evidently let them run an extra day or two.

something else i've noticed....kathy is turning out to be quite the little back-stabber. she was all involved with rachel and brendon when rach was hoh but she hasn't hardly said two words to them since matt took over. andrew has told her they plan to backdoor brendon and she isn't telling either of them anything about it...let alone talking to them.

How convenient for Brendon. So will it be Andrew or Kathy to go? Seems like Andrew doesn't have many friends in the house. I don't even understand why he wants to be in there.

Most of the house (except for Rachel) wants to send Kathy packing but Brendon trusts and really likes Andrew and wants him to stay. He's got the mindset that if people aren't playing hard and trying hard in the challenges that they shouldn' t be there. So for him Kathy should go home. Some are letting her think they haven't made their minds up yet. Both she and Andrew said they wouldn't bug anyone and wouldn't throw each other under the bus.

Andrew is really acting mean and at time ignorant with Rachel....he tells the brigade that he hates her and wants her out. He tells Brendon it's a ruse to make the others think they aren't in an alliance. Rachel really thinks he hates her...not sure if Brendon told her it's a ruse or not. But Rachel really wants him out. Brandon is getting his way as he talks her into voting to keep andrew (course this can change)

So andrew's way of not campaigning for votes is to make sure everyone knows how much he wants to put up Brendon and Rachel next week. and slipping in remarks about floaters (meaning kathy) don't deserve to be here. Kristen is sucking up to andrew telling him how hard she and hayden have been working to keep him in the game. Don't know if he knows she's full of shit but he's says all the right stuff to her.

Kathy...rotton little egg that she turned out to be...is throwing Rachel under the brush and telling Kristen that Rachel told her about their showmance and other things...said she thinks rach is bad and has finally seen her true colors. So she's letting others know that she now would want to get rid of rach and brendon. while kristen told her thanks for telling her ..kathy can tell she's not really getting anywhere so she's also playing her cancer card.

she's telling everyone that she really needs to stay in and play at least till jury. she can't tell them why but she REALLY needs to be here. and when no one bothers to ask her more about it she throws in...it's a medical reason but I'm not saying more about it. and then later she reminds the person she's talking to about her battle with cancer during her 20's.

They still haven't turned of the feeds so I'm watching now and again...
I still dislike Rachel and Brendon but I dislike all the others too....cept lane...now and then. I sorta want to see rach/bren win the hoh just to see the brigade get their panties in a twist like they did when he won pov lol

both bred/rach are totally thankful to matt for not putting them up...not realizing they were gonna backdoor bren.
They also trust ragan the most not realizing that he runs to matt like a puppy telling him everything they say...and also having laughs at their expense with matt.

ragan has been walking around the house telling everyone his deep thoughts about who should go home without actually saying who he's voting for...talking morals and honor and crap like that. he really likes to hear himself talk. did have to laugh though when he told matt that it's like talking to toddlers everytime they (bren/rach) ask him why people want to get them out...said they don't have a clue.

britney is sitting pretty since no one wants to get her out anymore.

I hope Britney is able to fly under the radar until the end. Otherwise, I don't have much interest in this season. I was happy they gave us a quick glimpse of the Britney/Lane comedy routine on tonight's show.

Enzo actually made me laugh with his comment about Andrew's shorts not being kosher.

The best thing about the Brigade will be when they turn on each other. If that doesn't happen, I think they'll be one of the most boring alliances in BB history.

Brendon obviously did not use the POV. Oh and now Brendon is campaigning for Andrew to stay after Andrew made a speech against Rachel and Brendon.

Boy that's going to steam Survivor fans who liked the 2-hour premiere last season and always argue we need a 2-hour premiere to get to know everyone before the *tribe speaks.*

Good grief...this season is UP in %????

HoH Blog Post #3: Matt

Hello America! It's your favorite guilty pleasure...the one you hate to love...the "brains" of The Brigade...the diabolical super-genius...Matt!!!

Having the opportunity to write this blog to you all is actually one of the aspects of HoH that I've been looking forward to the most. Here I can tell you all my deepest darkest thoughts about all my fellow houseguests.

I should start by saying that I really do genuinely care for everyone in this house on a personal level. On a game level, however, it's anything-goes and no one's emotions are safe. But personally...I love them all. I'm quite confident that after getting home and watching this season, I will have lost the friendships of at least half of this house. But the remainder that choose to forgive my deplorable game-character and see me for what I truly am (the greatest Big Brother player in the history of the game...yeah, I said it), I will be close to for years to come.

As a crazy super-fan of the show myself, I've always found Big Brother to be not just an entertaining show on a surface level, but also a fascinating social experiment. Being a part of it all makes me realize this even more. Never in my normal life would I end up befriending a meat-head jock (who would have most certainly logged many hours kicking my ass in high school), nor in my normal life would a Vegas bikini cocktail waitress ever give me the time of day. This meshing of subcultures is extraordinarily awesome, and for that I am insanely grateful to even be allowed to have this experience.

Okay, okay - enough with the sappy love-fest. I know...you want the dirt.

So, as you are aware, my nominations did not exactly go as originally planned this week. Not to worry, America! The diabolical super-genius is fast at work rectifying the situation! It's great to watch Andrew go completely mental, and in hindsight I think this is all going to work out BETTER for me than if the plan to backdoor Brendan went through as it was originally supposed to. At this point in time I feel completely safe next week, and I think the house still thinks I'm a total nitwit. Perfect on all accounts!

One thing I'm finding odd being here is how excited people get at the prospect of making it to the jury house. I've been hearing this since Day 1 in the house, but even more so now that there's only one or two evictions left until that happens. I just don't get it. That seems like such a loser mindset to me. If I'm not going to win anyway, then I'd rather just be sent home early so that I can get back to my normal life. For me, once the jury house starts getting populated there's absolutely no options other than to win this game. There's no way I'm going to be happy "just going to the jury house"! What kind of dopey accomplishment is that?!? Who brags to their friends about being a loser??? My housemates boggle my mind sometimes.

Speaking of my family, I guess now is a good time to give my personal shout-outs. First off, to my wife Stacy...WOW! - what a helluva HoH basket!!! In case you missed all of the awesomeness at home, America - here's just some of what my wife hooked me up with:

1. Enough of my favorite candies to last me literally the entire season 2. A zombie squirrel. 3. Her actual blanket that she sleeps with at home, so it still smells like her. 4. A shot glass from our wedding. 5. A pirate skull-and-crossbones flag. 6. Sliders!

However, the greatest part of the package was the letter from home. Stacy - you couldn't have written a more perfect note! I honestly read it every day. Literally the only major weight hanging over my head since I've been here is if you were super pissed with the lie about your fake disease. Although I told you before I left that I'd do anything outside of infidelity to win this game, I was thoroughly concerned that you were disgusted with my game play, and I fully expected to have divorce papers waiting for me in my HoH basket. When I read that letter saying how proud of me you were and how supportive you are of the way I'm playing the game and being true to myself, it gave me a newfound energy and vigor to win this thing! I also love how, in the span of one or two sentences, you could both feed my ego and then shoot me down again with a little jab. It was both flattering and humbling, and that's exactly what I need to hear right now. Thank you SO much again...I love you dearly and cannot wait to get back home to see you!

I'd like to also say hello to mom and dad! As Stacy said - I've basically been myself (hand down the pants and all), so hopefully I haven't caused you too much shame or embarrassment in your personal lives. But, then again, you created this monster - heheh. I love and miss you both very much as well. Please keep taking care of the little lady for me. I'm wondering if this paragraph was a waste to type, since you usually need me to show you how to work your computer. I'm guessing you'll never see this. Either way, the sentiment is there.

That ends yet another sappy break. Back to some Big Brother entertainment for you super-fans...

Let's talk about The Brigade, shall we. I believe that 70% of this game is skill, 25% is luck, and the last 5% is fate. I don't have much luck in my day-to-day life, so I was banking on a 75% chance of being the odds-on favorite this season to win. Thankfully, that little 5% of fate got sprinkled on me Day 1 as I fell into The Brigade. I truly believe that there has never been a greater alliance in Big Brother history. As I type this, there's not a single person in the house that suspects us in the least of having a four-person alliance. The beauty of The Brigade is that we all have our little "side-alliances". So as long as the main four-person Brigade remains under-wraps, then if any Brigade member gets put on the block they will more than likely be put up with their side-alliance member and not against another one of the Brigade members. It really is a brilliant operation. Hopefully Hayden can keep his focus on The Brigade instead of Kristen. They're making themselves more and more suspicious by the day of being the "secret friends", so he needs to be careful of that. The Brigade needs to be all four of our number-one priorities, and I'm thinking that Hayden may be losing focus.

The side-alliances are a good segue into talking about my personal side-alliance, Ragan. Ragan is definitely one-of-a-kind. Stacy loves gay men, and before I left for the show she told me to be sure to make friends with "the gay guy" in the house. I told her I didn't want to because they typically just hang out with all girls so that is horrible strategy to get involved with. Well, it turns out that (much to the delight of my wife, I'm guessing) "the gay guy" has inadvertently become my absolute closest friend in the house. He's really the only person that I feel any guilt about in regards to the lie about Stacy or even the lies that involve The Brigade. I know that he thinks we'd have each other's backs through to the Final Two, so it's unfortunate that I have to play him the way that I am. I hope that he can watch the show and understand that I'm just being a great game player and that it's nothing personal. But any connection you see between Ragan and myself is entirely genuine, and I can't really say that about anyone else at this point in the game. I'm going to keep him here as long as I can without outing The Brigade because he's a friend that I want to make sure that I have outside of this house for a very long time. We'll see what happens!

In regards to lies, I should address the major one surrounding my game play. Allow the following few paragraphs to clear the air for the large number of people who undoubtedly think I will be burning a slow eternity in hell for the lie I'm telling about my wife. In case you're not in on it already, I've been spreading around the house that my wife has a degenerative bone disease called Melarheotosis (which I have probably...no, definitely...just misspelled). I've been telling people that I don't really ever watch Big Brother (haha), but that Stacy is a huge fan and has convinced me to go on the show in order to win money to get her the necessary surgery that she needs to save her leg from being amputated. Furthermore, this fictitious surgery is not covered by insurance and will cost insane amounts of money to fund...

...Look, America - to win big, you have to play big. The reason that this story is so believable is because no one would be sick enough to lie about something like this. No one until me, that is. But that's what makes it the perfect way to garnish the sympathy I need! I only need four jury votes to win the $500,000, and I've already had three people tell me in confidence that they would not only vote for me, but that (because of my wife's "condition") they would even suggest to the jury that I should get the money if they were in the Final Two up against me!!! Haha - brilliant!...

Even though Stacy has a clean bill of health, this disease is something real. I heard about it on TV a year or two ago on some medical program. The facts I've been spewing about it are half real (from my memory of the show) and half completely fabricated. Either way, if I win this half-million then I definitely have this disease to thank (in part) for my victory. That being said, if I win the $500,000 I will absolutely be making a sizable donation to the research foundation for Melarheotosis. That's not something I'm doing only in an effort to clear my conscience (although I'm sure it'll help), but more as just a genuine feeling of both gratitude and sympathy for anyone suffering from the condition.

See...I'm not so evil after all! ;-)

Well, everyone - time is winding down here. I hope this has been a little bit interesting for you. If you've made it this far, then words cannot even begin to express my amazement at the time you'd invest in me. It's insane to me to think that anyone would even slightly care what I have to say or think (especially when I've rambled this much). So, to all of you reading this far...THANK YOU! Your support and encouragement is unbelievable, and it gets me choked-up to even think about. If any of you see me out in public when this is over, please do not hesitate to stop by and say hello. Unless you don't like me and want to punch me in the face...then please just leave me alone.

America - I love you! Stacy - I love you more! A thousand thank-yous again to everybody. You are all amazing!

See you on the other side,
--Matt

And an EW article with AG the EXP.

'Big Brother' scoop -- producers reveal twist... and an upcoming visitor!

Annie the saboteur, we barely knew ye! Fortunately, she may not be the only backstabber in the Big Brother house this summer. EW talked exclusively to Executive Producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan about the short-lived twist and what they hope to spring on the houseguests in the coming weeks, including a visit from a former player. So SPOILER ALERT! Don’t click to the next page if you don’t want to learn what happens in tonight’s episode and over the next few weeks.

EW: After Annie was booted, why didn’t you let the house continue to believe that the saboteur was still there?

Allison Grodner: The saboteur may not be dead after all! You’ll find out more tonight (July 29). Make sure you watch! We loved this twist. We were hoping it would go longer. But we don’t rig this show. People accuse us of rigging this show, people accuse us of trying to manipulate things. We don’t! We picked someone who was playing her own game, who was a huge fan, who had everything going for her. It wasn’t the saboteur (twist) that got her out, it was her own silly game play – which she did not have to overdo. We would have loved for it to go longer, but it didn’t. And the summer goes on! We ran this risk on every twist we’ve played…

Rich Meehan: Twin twist, America’s Player…

Grodner: Everything had this same risk associated with it. It is what it is with the game. It gave us a jolt, it was fun. But it’s not over yet!

Was it a Big Brother record, seeing the overt affection begin so quickly between Rachel and Brendon?

Grodner: He already professed his love and they’re already planning their wedding date! Tonight he actually says `I love you.’ Bren-chel is in it for the long haul.

Meehan: In (Wednesday’s show) he named them `Bren-chel.’

Grodner: I swear, I think we may get a Big Brother wedding out of this, not to mention that Jeff and Jordan are still together. Wouldn’t that be great? And Jeff will be back too. Jeff might be spending the night in the house in a couple of weeks so look out for that! I can’t say that Brendon and Rachel are the same as Jeff and Jordan; they are kind of the anti-Jeff and Jordan, but they are truly madly, deeply…there was a scene that we’ll figure out how to get in that played over the internet, where he starts to talk about how he’s going to introduce her to the family. He’s starting to worry about how his mom is not going to like her. At which point, she’s like, `What?’ It starts friction.

Can you tell Rachel that she doesn’t need to yell in the diary room?

Grodner: We’ve heard that. We will now. Rachel and Hayden are the yellers. It’s like, `give us some energy,’ and they get loud. We will tone them down.

Is there way that you can make the slop kosher for Andrew?

Grodner: Slop is that unique mixture that we get that has the protein and the vitamins, so it’s not just oatmeal. This week, because they have the baby food, there is kosher baby food and kosher oatmeal, so he’s eating big bowls of that. It was a challenge. We’ve never had someone with these kinds of restrictions in the house. And the fact that he’s even made it this long is amazng, considering he’s kind of socially awkward.

What do you think of the house so far?

Grodner: It’s always different. Last year, it was a split, angry house. This year, it’s nice because these people, even when they get mad at each other, are fine again pretty fast.

Meehan: Even when you don’t like them, you don’t despise them and don’t want to change the channel.

What happened to that tease from the saboteur that two houseguests have a lifelong relationship? Will you explain that?

Grodner: Eventually. But it’s been fun because that’s something that the houseguests are trying to figure out.

Why are you sequestering all the houseguests this year?

Grodner: We’ve done that in seasons past because of the expect the unexpected. That might happen. It’s become a safety net for us. If it plays into something, it plays into something. It may or may not.

Okay I'll come back and read it later. He's even more obnoxious in print so I stopped after P.1.

Thanks Bloss.

Thanks for the HOH blog, BL! Reads like Matt has a constant loop of how great and genius he is running through his mind. Isn't it a little soon to decide you're one of the greatest BB players in the history of the game?

Funny that Grodner claims they don't try to manipulate the game. We've known for years that the Diary Room isn't just a confessional. At least she admits that Rachel and Hayden yell in the DR.

Andrew's speech may be the most interesting thing to happen all season. At least he did something entertaining on his way out. I'm hoping Brendon/Rachel are smart enough to get rid of one of the stronger guys this time around but I'm not holding my breath.

Julie Chen blogs 'Big Brother' week 4

I wanted to start out by saying a HUGE thank you to everyone for all the support this season. We’re having a fantastic summer — great ratings, great drama and, as always, fantastic fan support.

And speaking of drama — just when you thought the “Summer of the Saboteur” was over, they pull you back in!

In case you missed last night’s show, I announced that we are asking you, the fans, to pick this season’s next Saboteur. One player who is already living inside the house will have the opportunity to accept the challenge of playing the second Saboteur. If they survive for two weeks they win $20,000.

Who do you think would make for a good Saboteur? First tell me your thoughts below, and then visit cbs.com and make it official by casting your vote for this summer’s next prankster or backstabber. Next week we’ll tally your votes and see who you think will be best at disrupting the house.

Let’s discuss all the activity (or should I say campaigning) inside the house this week. Matt snags HOH and immediately breaks rank and goes against the advice of the Brigade — instead of throwing grenades (as Enzo would say) at Brendon and Rachel, he opts to put Andrew and Kathy on the block. I don’t understand the strategy of putting Andrew up, but in terms of his decision to nominate Kathy - it was clearly a selection motivated by revenge. Kathy presents no real threat inside the house with regards to gameplay or challenges. Therefore I understand the Brigade’s frustration with Matt’s strategy. “Matt the Magnificent” stood by his nominations all week, but I personally think he showed a short-sighted approach and missed a huge opportunity to strengthen his alliance’s position in the house. He could have broken up the Brendon and Rachel “showmance” once and for all, but instead wasted his shot on Andrew. And to make matters worse for the Brigade, Rachel grabs HOH again this evening, securing her and Brendon’s safety for another week.

Kudos to Rachel and Brendon…especially Rachel. She is one tough cookie when it comes to HOH comps. That’s two HOH victories for Rachel and two POV victories for Brendon. I’d say that’s a team to be reckoned with, wouldn’t you?

Poor Andrew – I felt sorry for him this week when he started scrambling and grasping for any chance at survival. The Big Brother house is like high school – the moment you show a hint of weakness or desperation you’re dead in the water. By week’s end, Andrew was a man with no country. But if you know you’re on the outside, why not go out swinging, which is what he did. That was one fantastic speech from Andrew during tonight’s show, but in the end it did not buy him one single vote. Although you have to wonder what impact the information he revealed (confirming a second “showmance” between Kristen and Hayden) will have on the house moving forward.

Some Random Thoughts:

– I know I’m guilty of referring to this cast as possibly the smartest we’ve ever had, but after the illogical campaigning put forth by Brendon this week and Matt’s nominations, I would like to retract that statement.

– House meetings don’t work! If you’re feeling threatened enough to call the meeting, its probably already too late. As was the case with Andrew — too little too late.

– I love how this season’s men are so in touch with their feelings! For example… Brendon’s tearful moments from week one and then this week’s emotional outbursts from Andrew. Seeing this makes the Chenbot emotional…yes the Chenbot has feelings!

– My advice to Rachel: You don’t have to yell in the Diary Room. Those are state-of-the-art microphones that can pick up your audio just fine. (But isn’t she great television?)

– I don’t know when it will happen, but I get the sense that the Brigade could splinter at any time. Maybe they’re stronger than I think, but it seems unlikely they’ll be able to maintain a united front throughout the entire summer — especially with the emergence of the second showmance.

Top Quotes This Week:

Lane regarding Ragan asking why he shaves his arms:
“Because that’s what men do. Men in Texas fight each other and shave their arms—it’s just what they do.”

Brendon on love and relationships:
“Why buy the milk when you can get the cow for free?”
Rachel “Am I a cow to you Brendon?”

That’s it for now. It should be an interesting week for the Brigade given the power shift and the confirmation of Hayden and Kristin’s “showmance.” I can’t wait to see how it plays out and who you think is sneaky enough to wear the title of Saboteur next week. Thanks everyone.

Well I'm caught up with the TV airing of the show. The most exciting thing to happen this season was Andrew's exit.

I really don't like anyone from this season but I think I dislike Rachel, Brendon & Matt the most.

I'm also wondering about the average IQ in the house. It seems that casting really went out of the way to dumb down the contestants. I'm also wondering why the ratings are so good this year. For me it's the weakest season to date.

Yeah the ratings are baffling. Supposedly this is a smarter bunch. Smarter and more game savvy. The feedsters complain about the huge amount of gossip and chat about past seasons and strategies.

I agree, on paper maybe they're smarter and savvy but actions speak louder. (Though, the success of the secret brigade alliance is one point in their favor.)

Taking a few minutes out here from canning and from nursing a pug with severe allergies...don't know why but my feeds are still working. I've had them on while canning and have grown to dislike this bunch more everyday :(

Gate I think that Matt and Ragan or Brendon are supposed have very high IQ's....plus they have/had a doctor, 2 chemists and most have college degrees.

Ragan was my favorite and he just turned out to be so two-faced...getting info from Rach/Brendon and running to Matt who then in turn talks to the BROGRADE about duping Ragan. Ragan's still a bit confusing to me though cuz he still does offer comfort and advice to people...it's almost like he just can't help himself where Matt is concerned.

Rachel is just every mother's waking nightmare...seriously...Trash with a capital T. After the HOH contest when she won....lordy her hair was a stinking mess and she was too vain to take the extensions out. Her and Brendon both really can't understand or get it through their heads that EVERYONE wants them out...even when they are told this they still talk about how they think they can trust Ragan (who's wanting them out), Lane, and now even Britney.

They didn't show Rachel's speech when she picked the two to go out but they sure showed Brendon telling her how disgusted he was with her and that she was mean and vicious for no reason....and on and on and on he went. Then he went an told Kristen and Hayden he was sorry she did that. He's also got it in his head that when she is hoh so is he...she gets called to the DR and he will actually sit and have the meetings with people without her. He told Ragan they would be the final 3 and when ragan left she gave him hell for it and told him not to do it again. She has been smirking at Kristen and rubbing it in. They seriously are both just icky. He got on her the other night about her drinking again and said it wasn't going to work outside if she does that all the time.
For being so smart he's really an idiot. Since he's the only one (so they say) that will be allowed to play for HOH next week it's probably a good bet they will get put up...cuz he can't seem to win the hoh's.

Britney is almost like a different person without Monet in the house. She's quite funny and still has a little cattiness in her but she's starting to grow on me and I hope she ends up winning it.

I think the biggest surprise for me was Kathy...what a hateful woman she turned out to be. At least though the others are seeing that her "I've got morals and won't throw others under bus" crap is just that. They laughed and said she says that on one side of her mouth while on the other throwing andrew and rachel under the bus. They all want her to be put up if kristin or hayden come down.

Rachel hasn't decided who she will put up...she's waiting to see who wins veto. She spent over two hours talking with Kristin and they hugged it out and 10 mins later she put her up with hayden. Matt came right out and told them that next week if he's hoh he may put them up and he may not...he hasn't decided and like idiots they (brendon) feels the have to honor not putting him up this week since he didn't last week. Myself, I'd put his butt up.

Gate --hope you had a wonderful time and it's great to see your posts again :)

Thanks for the update, lexi!

Sometimes I have my doubts that Rachel even went to college, though she wouldn't be the only idiot with a college degree. If I had to pick, I guess I'd rather have Rachel in the house than Brendon. At least she's somewhat entertaining with her craziness.

Britney would be out of her mind to use the POV. Unless the whole house had come to an agreement of backdooring Kathy, though I'd rather it be Matt. I wouldn't mind seeing Kristin go home. Seems unlikely that it will be Hayden. I just hate the thought of the Brigade making it to the final 4.

Thank you Lexilani for the wonderful update! I really enjoy your insight to the game.

I watched BBAD yesterday and I was bored out of my mind. It was a good opportunity for me to take a long nap. ;)

I know that some of them are 'self proclaimed' geniuses and/or went to college but I find them lacking common sense. It just amazes me that this is suppose to be the 'smart' bunch.

As of right now I can tolerate Britney, Ragan (don't know him well enough) and Enzo (which I haven't seen enough) but I'm just going by the actual TV show and still don't know any of them well enough.

So does anyone know what the deal with Enzo? Am I crazy for liking him?

gate Enzo is mostly funny, he can really be gross though...for awhile there he was talking non-stop about his bowels and not being able to go...even while others were eating. it's like nothing is off limits for him to talk about. He also farts constantly...really bad stinky farts....but he does all this with humor. I don't know, if he's like this at home, I would grow tired of it, fast.

He talks about his wife and baby and you can see him really loves them so that's a point in his favor. If you look past his "bathroom" humor he's very likable.

As for game, IMO, I can't tell where he's really at. When he's with his "bROgrade" he talks about getting rid of everyone else. When he's with other people he mainly just shakes his head and agrees with what they are saying. He has told Brendon and Rachel that he won't put them up or back door them and then makes sure to tell the guys he said that. He makes fun (usually in a joking way, not nasty) of just about everyone. But he's never won anything other than the tv last night and never really had to make a decision about who to put up or take off.

I would almost call him a coaster since he just tends to agree with everyone. His brograde though, have talked about him being the first one to go out of the 4 of them.

edited to add: so kristen got her tie-dyed uni with a reddish curly/perm wig. the wig looks awlful. rachel got 5000, enzo got a tv and ragan got some kind of veto card....on another board they said he could use it to play in a veto game. and of course brit got the veto...she took it from either hayden or kristen.
kristen has had a talk with britney and more or less promised her anything and everything if she used it on her or even if she used it on hayden. brit said she would think about it.
