'Big Brother: After Dark' will return to Sho2

Keep your late nights wide open this summer, Big Brother fans: After Dark will be back! Showtime has confirmed that it will continue airing live, nightly feeds from the Big Brother house beginning July 8 at 12 a.m EST. This marks the fifth summer that CBS’ sister cable network has run the uncensored and uncut feeds, which have been a ratings success: After Dark has almost quadrupled the average numbers of viewers that Sho 2 typically attracts to the time period, when it usually airs movies (some of which are of the “adult” persuasion).

CBS has already announced that the 12th edition of Big Brother will begin July 8 and air three nights a week on Wednesdays (8-9 p.m. ET/PT), Thursdays (eviction show from 8-9 p.m.) and Sundays (8-9 p.m). The network used to air BB on Tuesdays but the network wanted to keep its winning line-up of dramas on that night intact for the summer.

The new cast for the reality show, which follows a group of people living in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones, will be announced at a later date. Big Brother is hosted by Julie Chen and executive produced by Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan in association with Endemol U.S.A.

I'll be getting After Dark on SHO2 but I'm going to be gone a lot this summer so I'm not sure how much good it will do me. I won't be getting the Live Feeds because that definitely won't be worth it but when I am around I'm sure I'll be tuned in! ;)

I cant believe it is Big Brother time again. I think it really is my fav reality show. (Or maybe I am just desperate over the summer) Never got into the After Dark stuff but I think I have Sho2 this summer so maybe I will catch more of it.

I actually went to the casting call for Big Brother in NY a few years back. I got all the way there and did not have all I needed to apply. I think I needed a copy of my drivers license (and they just said license) so by the time I found a copy machine I was too late to apply. Probably for the best. I think that was the really aweful season that came on after ALL Stars.

I did once see my all time favorite cast member Janelle in a bar. It was a very cool and trendy place at the time so I didn't want to look like a dork and approach her. She seemed nice though.

Well Lexi, while certain aspects of my life are certainly ripe for a reality show, I don't think that I am in a place anymore in my life that I could do Big Brother. But you never know!

In a Series First, One Contestant Will Enter the BIG BROTHER House With One Goal: To Secretly Wreak Havoc on Their Fellow Contestants

Fans will Provide Unprecedented Influence over the Game as the "Saboteur" Receives Their Suggested Tasks Directly from the Audience

The producers of BIG BROTHER are implementing a major twist for this season's batch of Houseguests that will top all past seasons. One Houseguest, known as the Big Brother Saboteur, will enter the house to play their own game, unbeknownst to their fellow competitors. The Saboteur's mission will be to carry out viewer suggestions on how best to disrupt the lives of fellow players.

Upon moving into the house on premiere night, Houseguests will discover that one of them is not really there to win the game, but rather to sabotage their fellow players. While the saboteur's identity will remain a secret to the Houseguests, America will learn his/her identity on Thursday, July 15, during the first LIVE show. At that time, fans can begin offering suggestions for how the saboteur should disrupt the game. The longer the saboteur is able to maintain their anonymity while carrying out their fan-inspired sabotage, the more financially rewarding it will be for them. For instructions on how to submit suggestions to the Big Brother Saboteur, visit http://www.cbs.com/bbtwist.

"We've inserted a game piece into the show this season that will make life for the Houseguests harder than ever before," stated Allison Grodner, Executive Producer of BIG BROTHER. "This is a twist that will wreak havoc on the house and the audience will be a part of it."

--

I expect they're in sequester now... they'll probably load the house in the next couple days...

I loved it when they did America's player. This sounds similar. Hope it turns out as well as it sounds!

I didn't really dig the 'America's Player' bit, but mostly that's 'cuz the kid they had (Eric) was a total tool. Yes, this does sound similar... or to 'the mole' on The Mole...

I never really mind the twists or gimmicks (whatever they are) because they only ever really play out for the first few weeks, and then it's 'back to normal'...

Yeah the twists are lame. The game is what it is, and if anything has been proven by BB it's that the power of the cliques and the social sitch outweighs any other issue in the House.

And the fact they they are TELLING the HG's the saboteur exists is just really lame. I'll bet that poor sucker will be busted and sent packing pronto.

Most of their "twists" have been flops, so I don't have much hope this will play out any better. If they're smart, the saboteur will be the most attractive/charming person in the house.

I think if a twist was actually successful it would be a twist, I agree with you Bilki. Most of them kind of suck. This one sounds like a variation of America's Player. I didn't hate Eric even if he was jerky.

The cast pics are up and there is no diversity whatsoever. They dropped the ball big time and I won't be watching.

One girl, can't remember which said that most of the previous girls had been nasty chicks. I read somewhere that Chelsia has tweeted about it and wasn't very happy. I don't think I'm going to like Ragan Fox I believe is his name. Jokers had a post up that he had stated a lot of racial remarks in his podcast. Didn't watch because of kiddos being up and I don't want to hear that kind of crap anyway. I still think it'll be a good season. Curious now as to who will be the saboteur.

Hahaha.......I agree, Eric was a total tool!!! And so was that season's America's Player. Although I remember someone else doing it in a later season and it wasn't nearly as annoying. But I can't for the life of me remember who it was.

VERY excited about this tacky, trashy show coming back. My hubby is already complaining! :lmfao:

Didn't Jeff get voted as "America's Player" for one week last season? I thought he had something to do with Jesse getting voted out because of it. I may have mixed up something there, but seems like it was along those lines.

VERY excited about this tacky, trashy show coming back.

Between 3 nights of BB and the Housewives shows on Bravo, I should be nearly lobotomized by the end of the summer.
