Krystal--I used to have the exact same attitude. I would tune in to AI every now and then to see what all of the hoopla was about and go "these people suck, why on earth are people watching this crap???" But somewhere around season 5, I started watching midseason and got hooked on a couple of singers I thought had a lot of talent and once I'm in, I'm in. The fun thing to me about the show is that although most of the time they DO suck, every once in a while a super talented singer comes on and you end up rooting for them and waiting for the times when they perform and it's pure magic. It's only happened a couple of times for me but it's so thrilling when it does. Adam Lambert's Mad World last season was one of those magic times. And the season before when David Cook did his rock version of Billie Jean that was another. As for your question about Ellen, that is soooo NOT the case for me. I like her just fine on HER show. But on this one, she annoys the living crap out of me. Her jokes are silly, pointless and so not funny and her opinions are rather blah. You want your judges to have a strong opinion. That's why everyone loves Simon. I'm not sure why you hate him but I guarantee if you watched AI for a season, you would love him too. I have a co-worker that also dislikes him but she doesn't watch AI either, she just sees little snippets of him on the entertainment shows and thinks he's an asshole. Which he is.....but he's a cool asshole! This show will suffer greatly without him and I won't be watching once he leaves. I don't give a rat's ass what any of the other judges really think, it's Simon's opinion that I wait to hear with interest. And when he gives a favorable review, there is no greater moment for a contestant because they know that he speaks the truth. The others tend to be wishy-washy and too nice. You need someone who isn't afraid to be brutal at times. Anyway, Ellen has not saved the show for me, she's made it worse. This is my least favorite season ever and I've been watching the last 4 years. BL--I agree with you about Ryan......he's acting like such a smartass lately. The whole thing is annoying! :violent: |

Yeah this is by far the worst season of Idol for me and I've been watching since midway through season 1. Ellen adds nothing to the panel whatsoever. I agree I like her on her show but Idol is not a good fit. How many times can she say you're great or you're adorable? Simon is really the one that matters and even he hasnt been quite as much fun this year. He looks completely bored most of the time. I cant even imagine the show without him. |

Still plugging along with the show. I adore Big Mike and Lee. Can't stand that Aaron kid. Casey is ok. I really only like Crystal and Siobhan. Didi bugged me. Lacey I didn't like, they were both too similar and too one note for me. Ellen seems to be saying a little bit more. Ryan is definitely an irritant. |

I am shocked to say that tonight for the first time EVER Casey was my favorite. That John Lennon song was awesome and he did it perfectly. Wow! It was nice to see that he can sing without smiling the entire time. So after tonight I am predicting a finale with Crystal and Casey. This was the best performance night of the season for me. Finally! |

Casey was great. Crystal was great. Surprised Tim Urban sounded as good as he did. Best night... sure. Not a bad song in the bunch... |

Dh can't stand Tim, but I think he's fun and he was good last night. I don't care for Siohban (sp?). I can appreciate that she's a good singer, just not my cup of tea. Last night she was so low I could barely understand her. Crystal is awesome, she just can't do anything wrong. Casey and Big Mike were great also. Lee's performance was a bit weird for me, I liked the bagpiper, but the arrangement or something was just off for me. I am getting a bit tired of the two-hour shows though and could do without most of the fluff in there. I don't watch the results show, but I don't think that needs to be an hour long either. |

I don't think I'm mad about Adam coming back as a mentor. I just wonder why someone else wasn't first. Tour dates or something? Glee is the one thing that DD and I have been counting down for! We watch AI on Tivo when possible but when a Glee commercial comes up we stop to watch! I love that show so much. Maybe more than I should for a 43yo. Don't care, love it!!! |

Oh Cheryl I am so happy to hear the new that Adam is coming back next week. WTF is wrong with those losers that replied to that article? I mean really. Adam Lambert is just what this show needs right now. He's been through the Idol mill for the past year and has tons of experience! I mean come on ... Miley Cyrus was a mentor and a terrible one at that so let's not poop on someone who actually is an amazing artist like Adam. I was reading through the people replies to the article and I think David summed it up best "SUCK IT UP little buttercups!! Booooo Hooooo my favorite idol isn’t a mentor why is he a mentor boo hooo….mommy change my diapers I just peed in them." :fall: :fall: :fall: Let me also add that Ellen just isn't cutting it. I love Ellen and her show but she has been terrible as a judge. The show has definitely lost it's mojo and once Simon is gone I think Idol can say bye bye to it's reign as a top show. OK happy dance for Adam! :bunny: :bunny: :bunny: |

To my girlfirend Cheryl ~ This would be awesome! Adam Lambert: Vampire Rocker? by Lindzi Scharf April 19, 2010 08:38 AM EST Those who think Ryan Seacrest should change his send off from “Seacrest Out” to “Seacrest Out-of-it!”—back off! According to one famous American Idol alum, the host’s odd on-screen antics were the result of multi-tasking. “He’s a hard worker,” Adam Lambert told TV Guide Magazine. “He’s got a really busy schedule. I’m sure every once in a while, he gets tired. I’m sure that’s the explanation.” The season eight standout, who was on hand for last week’s questionable behavior, admitted he was just happy to be back. “It was really exciting,” he said. “It was like a homecoming seeing all the familiar faces and the crew and the judges. It was awesome!” After his highly publicized Idol appearance, Lambert landed back in the spotlight on Saturday at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles where he performed for an adoring crowd that included honorees Drew Barrymore, Wanda Sykes, and the cast of Glee. “There will be sparkles and dancers!” he promised, before hitting the stage to perform Music Again and Fever off his debut album For Your Entertainment. “Visibility in the entertainment world is important for the gay and lesbian community. That’s our first line of progression. It’s just as important to show diversity within the gay and lesbian community. We’re getting there. We’re getting better. Baby steps.” Meanwhile, the singer is ready for his close-up. “I’d love to be on True Blood,” he divulged. “I want to be a vampire rocker. I’m putting it out there through you. Hopefully it’ll get back to them.” http://www.tvguidemagazine.com/news/adam-lambert-vampire-rocker-4740.html |

>> I bought the season one DVD of True Blood have yet to watch it. Cool... enjoy. >> What does everyone think of the rumors about Crystal wanting to quit and Ryan talking her down? Interesting story. And while it looks like there was a germ of truth to it, Crystal apparently wrote something on her facebook about how overblown and exaggerated the media took the story. The middle ground is probably that she was having a bad day, missing her family... but I doubt she was super-close to REALLY quitting... |

Pretty good show tonight (best since the Lennon/McCartney night). I love big band stuff. Harry coaching the kids in Sinatra, arranging, AND conducting on-stage? Cool. |

Harry Connick, Jr. is the BEST mentor ever......LOVED him! I always knew he was funny but not THIS funny. He should be a comedian! And they also need to make him a regular mentor each year.....or a judge........I might stick around for that!!! |

The Harry-comedy montage was great... and I liked Harry's 'And I Love Her'... Top 5 did medleys for BOTH Frank and Harry... made for a good show. And I don't really 'get' Lady Gaga, but I can't quite fast-forward through one of her pieces, either... non-committal on saying 'I like it', but she's definitely INTERESTING... |

I agree Harry was quite good. Dare I even say a possible contender to replace Simon? It wouldnt be the same vibe but I think he could actually pull it off. I dont even know that he'd be interested but its a thought. Yeah I think the word alot of people use for Gaga is "interesting" lol. |

Harry for the win. He was the best part of this week's shows. My sister saw him when he was on Broadway in Pajama Game and he was shirtless in the production. She was a happy woman. ;) |

Jamie Foxx is pretty annoying. Loved 'Falling Slowly' duet between Crystal and Lee. I'll give Simon Free Willy (and even Caddyshack, I suppose), but it's difficult to believe he hasn't seen The Graduate... Seacrest made a funny - I like when he called Ellen 'Dory' and asked if she could explain Free Willy to Simon. Kiss From A Rose, I thought, was an odd choice of song for Lee, but I quite liked Casey's Mrs. Robinson. I love Crystal, and I love 'I'm Alright', and I LIKE what she did with it, but I think I disagree with Ellen and Kara... I think I might have preferred her doing it less changed/stylized and more on-melody/familiar. |

LOL, Dax.......I found Jamie Foxx to be a little annoying and a bit on the pompous side as well. Soooo......what does everyone think about the final two? I told my hubby that at least I won't have to vote this year because Lee and Crystal are my two faves and I'm truly happy with either of them winning. I must say that although Crystal was my girl all along, Lee has been amazing these last couple of weeks and I'm absolutely thrilled for him. His voice is really, really good and he's just so cute and humble and endearing. Love him! LOVED his version of Hallelujah and Simple Man this week. Go Lee!!! |

It was an easy Final Two. Think this might have been the least surprising, most apparent-from-the-start-of-the-performance-shows season yet. Lee was really good. Maybe a bit 'cheating' of Idol a bit to give him a full choir for Hallelujah, just to clinch the deal. That looked more like a finale song, like Clay's big Bridge Over Troubled Water moment... I like Crystal better more often, but I don't really care who wins... |

I'm happy with Lee & Crystal as the final 2. I don't care who wins at this point. I can't see me watching next season unless something major happens. I enjoy Simon but I wasn't blown away this year and I find it annoying to have 4 judges. Ellen didn't add anything to the show and I thought she was a huge disappointment. Kara also doesn't do it for me. |

ITA with Gate. I pretty much stopped watching all together when Siobhan was still on. I like both Lee and Crystal so whoever wins is fine with me. Now I have to go hunt up what he did with Hallelujah. That is one of my favs. |
