Flash Forward: Preview of Premiere "No More Good Days"

I know it may be a little premature to post on a show that hasn't started but I'm looking forward to it tonight... which is also the kiss of death for a new TV show. :P

Shelle, I've got my fingers crossed. :) There has been a lot of hype about the show recently.

Man, that was a trip! I felt like I was watching a movie. Great special effects, and quite effectively chilling.

So who thinks the man in the wife's flash forward is the guy who was walking around?

I started watching it this morning when I woke up and had to stop. Need to be more awake for this one. I'm sorta confused on what kind of show this is supposed to be. I've heard it was sorta like Lost...but seems like it's going to be a cop show who dunnit...

Fantastic! Loved it! Now....can they fulfill the promise of this outstanding premiere.

Good call. He wasn't in town when his son was injured, so he's a possibility.

Lexi, it's being compared to Lost because they are (apparently) going to tinker with the time sequence of events the way Lost does.....plus the big cast with lots of guests entering and leaving the big picture...and the subtext "is it science based, or mythic, or supernatural???" as the foundation....

Some quibbles and comments~~~

1. I thought *our heroes* figured out what the blackout was way too fast and conveniently. I expected that mystery to linger a few episodes. I like that it means the pace is FAST, but I don't want things to become so ridiculous it breaks my suspension of disbelief....

2. I LOVE the theme that some will be hoping the *flashforward* memories will be true, and others hope they won't. (I suggest hereinafter known as ff - FF for the show abbreviation and ff for the event in the show)

3. So many characters and actors I like!!!! Well, at this point, as with Lost, lots of sketchy character info as they get introduced, but they seem to have a nice mix of interesting characters placed in interesting situations I already care about. Just don't make Heroes' mistake....sacrificing character for plot, and murky, stupid plot at that.

We loved it!

Finally someone has realized how gorgeous JF is and that we need him hot on our screen every week.

I like the idea that everyone had the blackout and they figured out so early. It's cool that some ff were good and others bad, I'm curious how this all will play out in the finale. Please don't cancel the show and don't Heroes it either. I'd rather have one good season than many bad ones.

Do you really think that the unaffected man is the same as the lover in Penny's dream? I thought the lover was the Dad of the kid, but if he turns out to be the mystery man, I'm hooked even more.

I love the cast. SW rocks in whatever she does and they make a nice couple with JF. Btw it was funny to see Alex Kingston there as they used to be married.

BTW I didn't get why Demetri wasn't in the car after the blackout. It's weird. Because they were together in the car and they should be there after the blackout. Had he woken up first, shouldn't he be helping his partner?

Yeah, momma! I've been in love with JF ever since I saw him in Elizabeth. I thought for sure he would be an instant heartthrob, but his detour into stage work derailed that. He could've been huge. So glad he's got a series now, and a good one at that, it seems.

Manifan, you brought back so many memories by saying Elizabeth.

It was ana amazing week back then, one week we went to see Elizabeth, the next Shakespeare in love. I still have his poster on the door of my room in our old home.

I tried Pretty / Handsome last year but I didn't like it too much.

I don't think it's too late if you start with the second eppy. I would definitely read a recap though. I just read this one from tvguide.com and it even helped me out! It's pretty good because it describes everyone's 'flash forward' so far. Interesting show, for sure.

Thanks Cheryl. I read some comments there and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's weird that Demetri wasn't in the car after the black out.

I worry I'm getting too paranoid, but that's what 9 years of X files do with you. Not to mention Lost or 24.

You can probably watch the first episode online, as well. Either at ABC or maybe Hulu.

Well, I had it TIVO'd and just watched it. I am hopeful that it is something like Damages, where there was some flashing forward but not like Lost which got on my nerves so much I quit watching it. I'll give it a few more weeks for sure.

>> I am hopeful that it is something like Damages, where there was some flashing forward but not like Lost which got on my nerves so much I quit watching it.

It's not going to be anything like Damages, where playing with time was part of the storyTELLING, but not part of the story. More like Lost, where the ensemble spends a great deal of time trying to figure out what is going on and why.

I was lukewarm on it.

Looked great, and was INTRIGUING, but... didn't capture me with a pressing NEED to know the answers to the questions that are being posed. I'm CURIOUS, but I'm not super-hooked. The closing scene (moving guy on the video of blacked-out people) was really cool, and the previews look encouraging, but again... I don't know if I have the patience for it. I watched Daybreak with interest (but was disappointed with the resolution, for sure) and checked out of the US Life on Mars early... With Lost, I love ALL the characters, actors, and how they tell their stories. Here, I didn't connect with any of the characters enough that I HAVE to know what happens next (or maybe doesn't). I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it.

Dax, it's not your fault that you're a guy. Because if you weren't you would be dying to see Joseph Fiennes again no matter what :))

Even Penny / Olivia does not do it for you?

Walger is very pretty, yes, but it's the babysitter Nicole that REALLY 'does it' for me. Peyton List from Mad Men and ATWT... love her, she's gorgeous...

Peyton is lovely, I liked her on Windfall and she had a really nice role on Without a trace.

Is she coming back to Mad Men or has she left?

Oh no 2buddy we have to get you caught up or at least if it ends up being great you can rent the DVDs once the season is over.

~~~
LOL about Peyton. I told my husband that was Lucy from ATWT and he didn't know who I was talking about until I said 'Dusty' ... then he got it. He did remember her from Mad Men. ;) She's very cute but I still hold a grudge against her for dating MY Paul Leydon! :firemad:
We've just finished watching the new eppy. I think it's pretty good and it can even get better.
The hubby thinks that Charlie is going to be kidnapped by D. Gibbons.
I wonder about the pregnant agent, is it too obvious that the baby father will be Dimitri?
That would explain her tears at the sonogram, if by that time she had fallen for him and the baby was all she had left of him -- presuming he dies, of course.
Am REALLY curious now about Charlie's flash forward and why she won't talk about it. The beginning of this week's show really freaked me out. I thought at first that the kids' game was the real flash forward and Charlie was the only one who hadn't blacked out.
Damn but JF is FIENNES. HA! :woot:
