I hope I did this right? Is it ok for me to paste a link to a promo here? Please delete me if it is against the rules :) I saw the trailer and thought it was awesome! Cant wait!

Links to promos are no problem at all.

(I did edit your topic title, though... 'nah' on the all-caps SMALLVILLE and rather than the premiere date of 9/25, saying 'Season 9' and making it the thread for the season makes more sense...)

Thanks for posting the promo, Mozart......it looks killer! I'm really glad they're moving Smallville to Fridays. Thursdays at 8 is a tough timeslot for me. But, oh how I wish they would bring back Lex this year......somehow, some way. It's just not the same for me now that Lex and Daddy Luthor are gone. Thank goodness at least Oliver is there to add some spice. I've GOT to have me some bad boys in my shows! :P

Yeah the loss of the Luthors made S8 almost unwatchable.

Fridays is ALSO a tough nite for me. I hope I can record it. TSCC is gone so maybe......

(((off to look at schedule)))))

KMI--what is TSCC? There is rarely anything we watch or record on Fridays except when Friday Night Lights is on so we are definitely good. I agree about S8 being pretty bad. There's something about this show though that I still like. I guess it's because we've been with the characters so long now. I like Lois now...she makes me laugh, still love Chloe, love Clark when he's Evil Clark (not Mr. Goody Goody Do-Gooder Clark)....and I LOVE Oliver......wish they would feature him more.

Oh my....I should have know that......I watched the entire first season! That was enough for me, though.

That is one sexy man. He and Lois had great chemistry.....don't know why they didn't continue that little relationship. It would make a good triangle with Clark now starting to develop feelings for Lois.

While I did think that last season lacked something with the Luthors I did really enjoy it. I dunno, getting Lana; as much as I liked her; off of the canvas, it sparked a renewed interest in me. With Lana out of the way Clark can become the Superman he is supposed to be.
The promos I have seen look awesome and I can only hope that this season will rock. Can you believe its been almost 9 years and this show is still on? :) I still LOVE IT!! :)

Amen, my brotha! There are times when I almost sorta barely like her, in general she drives me :taz:

I'm digging Lois and Clark these days. Good riddance to Lana!

So :) I really haven't been too impressed with Smallville yet this season until the past 2 episodes and the ratings do seem to be getting better :) This week's episode was GREAT! Lois and Clark are finally HOT. I loved seeing Jorel and also the Wonder Twins. I am thinking that the show may still get picked up for a 10th season :) Maybe I am liking it better because they are showing Tom Welling shirtless more? ;)

Well, we're two behind so I guess I haven't seen the good stuff yet. I'm this close to dropping this show. I can't believe how seriously corny it has gotten. The chemistry between Lois and Clark was a nice surprise. And I still love Oliver. Unless Lex comes back, I think I'm okay with this being the last season.

Try and hold off on dropping it ;) You won't be disapointed. Later on this season they have also got a 2 hour movie for Society or Legends I believe. I was about to stop watching until the past 2 episodes. It has been corny but it looks like they may be getting better :)

Haha, KMI.....I'm glad our beloved James Marsters isn't there for this drivel.

Mozart--I still haven't watched the last two but I won't be dropping it anytime soon. My hubby still loves the show for some reason. I think it's payback for having to watch all of my reality shows. :P

I thought I would bump this thread :) did anyone catch last week's new Smallville? I thought it was well done IMO. I loved that most of the episode was about Green Arrow and he was shirtless :) This week looks like its gonna be pretty good. It's the 2 hour episode!

I missed it since they moved Dollhouse to 8:00 and my dvr was recording two things already.

You missed a good 1!! :( Maybe Hulu has the episode so you can catch up on it. Was that the series finale of Dollhouse? It's so hard to keep up with all my shows. I know how it is when you have too much on your DVR and you have to miss something :(

Oh great.......two hours......lol. Yeah, I caught it. The only good thing was there was a lot of Oliver in it. And I do love Clark and Lois together. Other than that, I'm still barely hanging on. If they would just give me a little Lex.......or Daddy Luthor.......a flashback, a ghost, a cyborg......anything!

Yeah :( I do miss Lex and Daddy Luther too. We do get to see Martha Kent this season though. It's about damn time! I have missed her more than anyone else I think. The Lois and Clark chemisty is finally heating up :)

Did anyone catch last nights 2 hour episode? For me; the first hour was pretty slow. The second hour kicked it up a notch and I LOVED IT!!! At first I thought the costumes were gonna be cheesy but they fit in pretty well. I hope that the writers keep up their awesome stuff!
Does anyone else think that Chloe may be the 1 who ends up becoming Dr. Fate? It seemed like they were going to go there with that. Im good with that as long as they don't kill her off :)

I dunno. Maybe I just don't know much about the history of comics....so maybe I wasn't the target audience. I thought the two hours stretched the material mighty thin...and I like Michael Shanks. Shoehorning Lois into the plot was painful; Tess is just a pain, and a shadow of a shadow of what an arch-nemesis should be; the reveal to Clark that Lex is alive was just flat and silly; the backstory plotting was poorly done; the whole sturm and drang over Icicle Boy was ludicrous as Clark alone could easily hand him - as the new conspiracist chick made clear when Icicle Boy ended up back under her control. (And why was that?) And too many of the lines were just pompous and 'fake weighty.' The show has pretty much descended into the most shallow of cartoon storytelling, imo.

It's bumped way down on my dvr recording priority, so depending on whatever else is scheduled that night I might be missing episodes. The show really should have gone out with a bang a few seasons ago.

Awww, Mozart. I hate to rain on your parade but I haven't watched yet and just knowing that it is an entire, long, dragging, full on two hours isn't making me want to watch. And KMI's comments just reinforce that because she and I agree about a LOT of shows. It sounds cringeworthy but I'm happy that you are liking it. I DO enjoy reading your posts about the show, too. Probably more so than watching. Haha!

Yeah :( It does seem like Im the only 1 enjoying Smallville. Maybe its because I am a HUGE Superhero fan and love Tom Welling :) It does look more like the adventures of Lois and Clark now but I guess they have to go there eventually. I still miss Lana even though her whining got on my nerves ;)
The ratings are still pulling up for Friday nights so it looks like there will be a season 10. The first hour of the show was slow this week. Thank GOD for DVR!! LOL
I think the whole point of the episode was to introduce the Suicide Squad. I can't tell yet if Tess is really evil or working for the good guys.

I saw you guys on the East coast got hammered by another snow storm! CRAZY!!! Whatever doubts I had about moving back are def GONE!!! I hope everyone is safe and warm :)

I know that Smallville isn't really enjoyed by many on the board but I thought I would share this :)
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/03/04/this-just-in-the-cw-renews-smallville/

I do agree that it is becoming more "cheesy" this season but I am glad that it is renewed so the writers can really focus on a final season.
Last weeks episode was pretty good IMO. Zod getting his powers should make for some drama and action. Now...I just wish they could get Lex back!

I'm happy for ya, Mozart. Surprised at the renewal since it really is SO bad this season but hey, stranger things have happened. They are piling up on my dvr...not good. Hopefully we'll get to them when the hubby gets out of school and has time to watch more than one show a night. If they brought Lex back, you wouldn't hear me bitch one iota!

You gotta love James Martsters! From Comic-Con this week:

- During the 'Caprica' panel, star James Marsters mentioned that he would be guesting on the 200th episode of 'Smallville,' reprising his role as Brainiac. When asked why the show has endured for so long, the former 'Buffy' star replied that it's because "Tom Welling is still really hot."

:lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:

That's awesome news that he'll be back though. It means I will continue to record Smallville! :P

Yeah JM's return is good news. I missed the finale this year. Gotta either see it online or hope they repeat it before the new season.

I can't wait for the last season of Smallville :) im glad they have an entire season to wrap things up. John Schnider being back for a few episodes is kinda awesome but I'm wondering how they are going to write him in? Is he going to be a ghost or something ?
