>> Dax when you met Rob and Amber-did they mention any other tv plans in the works? Nah, didn't talk about them... I just cooed over the baby for a bit (yes, adorable)... >> How did you meet them? They came into one of my workplaces (I leap out and scare people in an attraction at Madame Tussaud's)... I didn't recognize them when they came through, but the guy that ushered them in did, and told me, and so I went out after... (I don't think Amber came through, she stayed with the baby...). They were with another couple - the guy was an ex-Survivor guy, too, and he looked familiar, but I don't know his name (don't think he was in either of Rob or Amber's seasons), and the lady was really pretty... >> Do you live around them? Last I read, they'd moved to Vegas to concentrate on Rob playing professional poker... I think somebody was going to follow them around with cameras for a bit, but I didn't see it if that happened (on Fox Reality? Dunno...) >> Was it just one of those things or do you meet "tv people" regularly? Not regularly. Every now and then. When I lived in LA, I met Ben Stiller on three different occasions... Met Kathy Griffin at work when they launched her figure (and I'm visible in the background of the episode of the show on that...). Met one ex-American Idol at work, George Huff. I scared Holly Madison and two of Hef's new girls, but I didn't meet them. |

The Rob poker show was prior to the Rob/Amber baby. It was on Fox Reality, and since Fox Reality is dead, there won't be more episodes. |

The CBS website now has the Survivor 20 meet the cast with Jenna M. interviewing. It's the first video in the box. I got it on Facebook tonight. Sounds good. Survivor 20 Meet the Cast |

Dang. After watching Candice's video, I STILL don't remember her! I wonder if she's a her or a villain? I can't believe we have to wait an entire month until Feb. 11. So not fair! |

Very true. pregame alliances in some cases.... In fact, The *big noise* at the first All-Stars (not Fans VS faves) was centered on Boston Rob and Lex and how that went terribly wrong...mostly because Boston Rob had every intention of using Amber and damn if he didn't fall for her. I'm pretty sure he and Lex are still not speaking. One person does indeed know Russell... Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by KMInfinity, Jan 10 2010, 01:06 PM.

I don't understand the reaction at all. Because I changed 'Hero' to 'Hiro' and 'Skylar' to 'Sylar'? I apologized profusely, and made it really very clear that I didn't mean to offend her in any way. This decision doesn't make a bit of sense to me. I also hope she returns. |

Who the hell is Shane Powers??? Seriously, I haven't a freaking clue. I also miss Lexilani. She was awesome in the BB thread and just seemed like a genuinely cool person. Bummer. :( |

You'd remember Shane when you see him. oops, now you won't. Really goofy long haired dude with a preteen son. Interesting, as I'd heard Ozzy was cut for Russell. |

It was on last night, in the regular Surivior timeslot - Surviving Survivor. They had a clip on Ethan, he's had a stem cell tranfusion (?) and apparently just left the hospital 30 days ago. They also showed Russell beside Richard and either one is really tall or the other is really short because Richard was towering over Russell. Russ was kind of complaining that he wouldn't really be the ultimate survivor since he wouldn't be able to beat Richard. Maybe you can catch it on Hulu or onDemand?

Yeah it was mildly entertaining. Its nice to have that recap going into this season for those I'd forgotten about. The piece on Ethan/Jenna was nice. Richard seemed a bit more subdued than normal. Cant wait til it starts! |

:applause: Probst signs for another year of SURVIVOR! :applause: Breaking News: Jeff Probst tells EW.com he has renewed his 'Survivor' contract, but only for one year Good news, Survivor fans: Jeff Probst, whose contract on the CBS hit reality show was expiring, has decided not to snuff his own torch…yet. The host tells EW.com he will be back on the show past the season’s 20th edition, Heroes vs. Villains (which kicks off Thursday night at 8pm). “What has kept me interested in Survivor for 20 seasons is the study of human nature,” says Probst. “How we justify our ethics, and watching what happens to people when they are put in situations of extreme conflict. Sometimes it’s hard to watch, and sometimes it’s enjoyable to watch, but it is always interesting to watch.” But, like any good Survivor story, this one has a twist. When Probst renewed his contract in the past (after seasons 12 and 16), it was for four cycles over two years. His latest renewal, however, covers only seasons 21 and 22 and will expire in 2011. While that would seem to indicate that the host is ready to finally call it quits and take his act elsewhere next spring, Probst insists that is not necessarily the case. “I’m not approaching this as my last year of Survivor,” says Probst. “I was just comfortable taking it one year at a time. It certainly made it easier for me to just commit to one year and then we can revisit it again next year if everybody wants to.” [Could Survivor continue if Probst hangs up his snuffer, plus more after the jump.] As for what factor Live for the Moment (the CBS reality pilot-turned-special that Probst created and hosted) may have played in his decision to return, Probst admits that the show opened his eyes to several things — both good and bad —but played no role in his deciding to come back: “Live for the Moment showed me how fun it is to do something new and to explore new topics. It also is a great reminder that it is very, very difficult to get a show on the air, let alone find an audience. But I want to be clear: It had nothing to do with whether I was coming back to Survivor or not. This was just taking a moment after 10 years to take a look at my future, and where I saw it going, and what I wanted to do with it, before signing my contract.” Still, with Probst showing a desire to try his hand at different projects (like Live for the Moment and filling for Regis Philbin on Live with Regis and Kelly), and now only signing up for a one-year commitment, one has to wonder if his days of informing unlucky contestants that “the tribe has spoken” are nearing an end. And whether the show could continue without him. On that last subject, Probst has no doubts: “I have always said that my belief is that the star of Survivor is Survivor: It is the format. So yes, if there came a point where I decided I was leaving Survivor, I absolutely believe someone else could take over.” Thanks to his new contract, it will be at least a year before we find out if he’s right. For more on what Jeff’s decision means for his passport, and if he will ever drag Kelly Ripa out to location, check out Jeff’s interview on People.com. And for video of Jeff Probst on location in Samoa discussing the upcoming Heroes vs. Villains season (and why certain people didn’t make it), watch our exclusive 3-part video below. Jeff's being humble. I do think a replacement host is possible....but I also believe that the wrong choice for host could be disastrous. Several former cast members have been suggested in the past, and recently Conan O'Brian was discussed as a possibility. imo most former players would be terrible, and the host needs to check his ego at the TC door. Not sure someone high profile like Conan could do that. |

I'm not a fan of Conan and think he would be a horrible replacement host! I think it would hard for a former player to host because they would be wanting to replay the game. I can't think of someone that I think would be able to do half as good of a job as Jeff does. I think they would have to go with someone who is mostly an unknown so that they don't have the huge power ego. I think it would be good if they had someone in mind and follow Jeff around a season to get the feel for it. |
