Really good Bree/Orson stuff in this one, and Lynette's first therapy session. The animal classifications at the school were pretty silly, and it was hard to swallow that Susan (being a teacher there. even THOUGH her son is a student) wouldn't be in on 'the code'. |

They do have things like animal classifications in pre-school but it's so the KIDS don't know where they fall academically not the parents. Susan doesn't seem to be the sharpest crayon in the box so I actually bought the fact that she wasn't in the loop. |

I've just been browsing my Dr. Who sites and am belatedly learning that John Barrowman (Torchwood's Captain Jack) ::drool:: will be in at least five episodes of DH, playing the "Big Bad" at the center of the Drea de Matteo story. ::doing the happy dance:: |

Julie Benz's stay on Wisteria Lane is extended February 5, 2010 | 2:28 pm Former "Dexter" star Julie Benz will be staying on Wisteria Lane just a little bit longer. Benz originally signed on for a three-episode arc as a stripper with a heart of gold and a passion to educate herself. In an exclusive interview with our pals over at Zap2it, "Desperate Housewives" executive producer Bob Daily said they were planning to keep her on the Lane for additional episodes. "We've been enjoying [Benz] so much," Daily said. "We've extended her at least one more episode and possibly more beyond that." Last week Robin (Benz) was inspired by Susan (Teri Hatcher) to stop stripping and pursue her dreams. After being fired for her past while working for Susan, she convinced Mike it would be a good idea to house the former stripper. But in sneak peeks of the episode it doesn't seem like she'll be a house guest for too long before making the moves on another housewife, the always unstable Katherine (Dana Delany, who'll soon reunite with her former Wisteria Lane husband, Nathan Fillion on his ABC series "Castle"). "Robin will be getting into a friendship," Daily said. "That maybe turns into more than a friendship with Katherine. Katherine has had kind of a rough year and I think she's open to new experiences. She's had a rough time with men. It's going to be a sort of twisty and turny conflicted relationship for her, I think." Is this signs that they are ditching the "Katherine is a crazy psycho" plot? Maybe this is just the storyline needed to spice up things on the Lane. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2010/02/julie-benz-desperate-housewives-wisteria-lane.html |

Benz was also just cast in a pilot... but should that not get picked up, I could see her DH role extend into next season, too, maybe... The dream sequence the other night was really hot. Definitely approve of her wardrobe... |

Ah....Benz and Barrowman would be droolworthy.... I'm sort of over the Drea story. Something never gelled for me with that one. |

It's messy, but has been dropped/downplayed long enough that maybe they can get it to work with a villain on the screen... The season-long mystery arcs rarely work, but it's built into the structure that they have them... show continues to be entertaining anyway, so I don't stress over them... Funny bit in TV Guide on marriage tips for couples... to Tom and Lynette they advise maybe not living on a street where there are so many tornadoes, murders, and plane crashes... |

LOL Dax. I actually thought about you while watching that scene. That didn't come out right but you know what I meant. I also deleted it before my husband could see it. He won't watch DH with me because he's tired of it so I didn't think he deserved to see it. :P |

You guys are TOO funny! Hey Dax ;) I have some coconut syrup! LOL That episode was good. Hell.....I bat for the other team yet I found myself strangly aroused. Maybe it was the boobs and the syrup? It's so sad to see Mrs. M going through the cancer story again. Doesn't she have cancer in real life too? I think Bree's new assistant is def up to no good |

I think Joosten beat cancer, but they're consulting with her for the story, sure. This did happen to her. Yeah, Bree's new employee is pretty much evil... that just takes one look, if you're typecasting (he's Joan's husband/rapist on Mad Men). DH and Mad Men have a lot of shared cast... like Deadwood and Lost... or Oz and Dexter... or Oz and L&O:SVU... or Oz and Lost... or Oz and The Wire... Damages and GL becoming quite a long list, too... |

She has lung cancer again. :( I remember reading about it late last year. ETA ~ Here is the article: Desperate Housewives' Kathryn Joosten Has Lung Cancer By Mark Dagostino Monday September 14, 2009 03:40 PM EDT Kathryn Joosten, a two-time Emmy winner for her role as feisty neighbor Mrs. McCluskey on Desperate Housewives, has lung cancer – and she plans to do everything she can to fight it. "I've got a little hang-up here," Joosten tells PEOPLE exclusively of the diagnosis she received less than a week ago, "but we're going to handle it and move forward. I'm doing great." The actress, 69, who already won a bout with lung cancer in 2001, broke the news to her Housewives producers Monday morning as she expects her shooting schedule could be interrupted for treatment. "They're totally supportive," she says. "I said, 'If you want to put it in the story line, do it! Tell anybody you want, because the public's going to know.' " Two weeks ago, the actress – who also played Mrs. Landingham, the beloved secretary to Martin Sheen's President Bartlett on The West Wing – underwent her annual physical exam during which doctors discovered a spot on her lung. Tests will determine the type of lung cancer Joosten is suffering from and her course of treatment. "I felt like the legs had been pushed out from under me," Joosten says of receiving the news. "I completely did not expect it, and was devastated. I was crying for nearly five days straight." Removing the Stigma of Lung Cancer Joosten, who regularly speaks about beating cancer, flew to Okalahoma City the day after receiving the news for a previously scheduled speaking engagement, where she talked to an audience of 600 people about surviving and living your dreams. After coming to terms with the diagnosis, she now says she wants to speak out more about fighting the disease. "To get back in control, I have to attack. I have to make this something that I can have an effect on,” she says. Joosten, once a heavy smoker who quit on the day she was diagnosed in 2001, adds, "My other goal is to try to erase some of the stigma of lung cancer." Because lung cancer is often associated with smoking cigarettes, she says, it is often dismissed as something lung cancer sufferers did to themselves. "The first thing everyone says is, 'Did you smoke?' Yeah, I smoked," says Joosten. "I smoked because Betty Davis said it was very glamorous. I smoked because it was seen everywhere and done everywhere. I got addicted because the tobacco companies add additives to their tobacco to make it more addictive. I'm damned mad at all of them. But that stigma has to go away." In short, Joosten says, "No one deserves lung cancer." http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20304338,00.html |

That's a September article... she did have a surgery in October - http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20310339,00.html - and I haven't heard anything 'bad' since then... can't find it now, but I'm pretty sure I saw something optimistic when the show (recently) discussed starting this McClusky-cancer story... A HuffPost piece (from January) by Joosten - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kathryn-joosten/talking-about-that-tough_b_432131.html It's funny... my parents were private - not wanting the neighbors to know, when my Dad was fighting bronchial cancer last year (he's in good health now... his hair is coming back in...). They were a bit upset when a strange series of small-world stuff got the word out... one of my best friends (in NY) told one of her/our-from-college friends here in Vegas, and this lady goes to church with... neighbors of Mom and Dad. Oops. |

Fascinating reading: http://reporter.blogs.com/files/sheridancherry-1.pdf Interested in all the gossip, will be fun to see what comes of this... Kinda hard to believe Cherry is a big screamer creating an enormously 'hostile environment'. I find it very difficult to believe that he struck her. |

Hummmph....It does seem odd. But I did think the storyline with Edie ended abruptly. Edited by KMInfinity, Apr 6 2010, 05:40 PM.

http://www.deadline.com/2010/04/she-said-he-said-reaction-to-nicollette-sheridans-20m-lawsuit-against-desperate-housewives-marc-cherry/ and http://thresq.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/04/nicollette-sheridan-age-discrimination-.html Yeah, I particularly went 'Wha-?' on the part of the lawsuit that alleges Cherry fired Sheridan because he's a gay man and she's a straight woman. I think the lawsuit has no merit, and Sheridan has relegated the remainder of her career to straight-to-video industry fringe stuff. Nobody's going to want to work with her now. |

I think so too. I looked at the suit and it looks ridiculous to me. No one is going to want to go anywhere near her. |

Ausiello reporting that Mark Moses will be back full-time as Paul Young next season. Cool. I liked the actor a lot back in the first couple seasons, but like him even more now after his turns as Duck on Mad Men. Paul was last seen in jail in Season 3... three years plus the five year time-jump... eight years of story, guess he could conceivably and semi-realistically getting out of jail for 'killing' Felicia Tilman (who isn't dead; she faked her death and framed him...). Hope we see Felicia again, too, though. And I'd like them to do something with Mike/Zach/Paul. I forget where Mike's story was at the time (amnesia, the relationship with Edie?), but I remember thinking it was very odd that the last time we saw now-super-rich Zach, his story was JUST about romantically pursuing Gaby, and nothing about connecting with his biological father... -- Meanwhile... anybody have any thoughts on recent episodes? The killer-is-Eddie thing? Barroman vs. Angie? Or other stuff? |

Sam needs to be killed, but I like the secret of Andrew hitting Mama Solis with his car way back in the seventh episode finally coming back around. Sure, it was a little clumsy with a) Gaby and Carlos mentioning Mama getting hit with the car for the first time in years earlier in the same episode, hello, audience reminder; and b) a drunken Danielle telling Sam about this off-screen at a family 'reunion' dinner we didn't see any of, but... still not a bad thing for this to come forward again. Always thought it kind of bizarre that it was able to REMAIN a secret for, um, I guess it's about 11 years... |

The Angie story is a bit MOTW-ish but I love Barrowman so I'm enjoying it. They're cramming a ton of backstory into it so I wonder, "Really? They intended Angie to be an engineer bomb expert all along?" Did I miss some clues along the way? I'm trying to decide how it should end since I really don't care much about the characters. I know JB can bring the tears and the angst, so I'd like to see him develop a bit closer of a relationship with Danny, than have Danny be the one who dies in the bomb explosion, then JB fall apart emotionally. The I remember: A. the finale is next week---no time: and B. Dax reported Cherry saying JB is worst villain ever. Eddie seems to have sprung on us from so far out in left field it's pathetic. Did I miss clues there too? The acting is great, but the writing is too over the top. Talk about soapy plotting! I wish they'd either pace these *mystery* stories better or give up on them. |

re: Eddie. Nah, no overt clues, but 'economy of characters'... we SAW him several times, and he really served no OTHER purpose than to randomly be around, so... (I remember one scene... think it might have been in the one where the Strangler got the cute coffee shop girl, and it had been so long since we'd seen Ana and Danny that it kinda looked like one of the Scavo boys with three strangers... and then 'oh!', the light goes off in your head who Ana and Danny were, and then there was a fourth kid and 'who's that?'... that was Eddie...). The actor IS good, though, and I kinda liked his flashback episode. Like the Applewhites before them, the Bolen family won't be sticking around beyond the season... -- Boy, Lynette was dumb in that last scene, huh? I mean, sure, she trusts the kid, she likes him, she's not the least bit suspicious of him, but... oh, if that bell had rung in her head just a LITTLE bit sooner... |
