Mad Men Season 3 Promo & Premier Date Season 3 of MAD MEN will premiere on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 10pm on AMC. And I'm sure you guys are really excited to have Don Draper and his team back on your screens soon. The even better news is that the premiere will be presented with limited commercial interruptions. In addition, AMC will host a Season 2 Mad Men marathon on Monday, August 10, from 7am to 8pm, so if you're not caught up yet, here is your chance. And to get you even more excited for the return of Mad Men, check out the promo video for Season 3 in the link below. http://www.daemonstv.com/2009/06/11/mad-men-season-3-promo-premiere-date/ |

$24.49 on Amazon is the best (ordered mine last night with a Gold Box-for-you deal, so it was even $1.60 or so less than that)... Best Buy's got it for $30, but has a store exclusive on a Mad Men tie clip (neat, but wasn't worth an extra 7 plus tax to me...). |

Great article, dax. Somehow, I did not realize that 7 of nine writers for the show are women. |

That was hilarious, and so was the What Happened to TV? I actually wonder what happened to the minds of the people who watch shit like that, but thank God Mad Men makes me think someone somewhere must have a brain. |

OMG--- :fall: Thanks for sharing that Dax. Loved last nite's episode. Gold in every scene. I was a bit confused about the intro...Don's *daydream* while warming the milk. I have to watch that again. What I find so freakin amazing (which was mentioned in the Cracked review) is that, I like these characters, all of 'em, warts and all. That is stellar writing there, to show characters, flawed and whacked, and yet in such a way you identify with them, see their pov, sympathize with them. |

I think I hate that little weasel, Pete, even more this season than I thought possible. And I blame it all on Angel! :P I see Don is still a whoredog at heart. Poor Betty. Did you guys think when Don was on the train telling Salvadore about his idea for the London Fog ad that this was his way of telling Salvadore he could trust him with his secret? If so, that was really kinda sweet of him. Don is so complex sometimes! But still a whoredog......lol. |

Great epi, I am just sad that there are so few of them! Yes, I got the idea that Don was telling Sal to be careful but that he Don did not judge him. Poor Sal, he was finally giving in to it and then the alarm goes off.... I hate Petey too. I want him to get his ass kicked. Don will always be a whoredog. |

Yeah, Don would never betray Sal's secret (or Peggy's). Sucks for Sal that he didn't get 'more' than that, but it was a big step for him... sucks for Don to have learned, but if ANYBODY he knows had to see, Don was the safest person, for sure. 'Limit your exposure'. >> I was a bit confused about the intro...Don's *daydream* while warming the milk. I have to watch that again. Took a bit, but I got it... great analysis here (Sepinwall's post-show write-ups are the best out there, I think) -- http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/2009/08/mad-men-out-of-town-birthday-wishes.html And later in the comments, when someone asks how Don could have as much information as shown about baby Dick's beginnings - >> Weiner talks about it in the interview a bit. The basic idea is that Don's birth and early life were such a scandal that everyone in town gossiped about him, and he gradually learned all the details. If the dream wasn't exactly what happened, it was close enough. Interview with Weiner - http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/2009/08/mad-men-talking-out-of-town-with.html |

I'd think "poor Betty" if she weren't such a rotten person and terrible mother. It's interesting to me that she seems happy in this pregnancy. Not sure why she hates her son, but she does. She seems to hate everybody. I haven't seen every episode, so I think I'm missing some pieces of puzzles. Also hate Pete and find it incomprehensible that Peggy would have slept with him. I thought the same as Dax, re the warming milk scene. |

Yes, Betty sucks as a mother. She is cruel to her children. Sh is vacuous and self asorbed. I dontt even blame Don for whoring around. |

Thank God. I guess I will have to find an internet site devoted to it as I can't quite believe that there are over a thousand posts regarding Big Brother and just this handfull regarding Mad Men here. In any case, Sunday was great, Peggy getting stoned with the guys, the contrast between them working and the huge party at Sterling vs the smaller one at Joan's. i wonder if Joan and Roger will end up together. Is Roger married to that bimbo or are they just living together? She is really a worthless bitch. The more I see of joan the more I like her. |

Roger married Jane, yeah (between seasons). I haven't watched Sunday's yet. I love, love, love - this show. Krystal - try to always read this guy's analyses on any given episode, and then read/skim through the comments of the posters under him - good, smart conversation going on here. http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/search/label/Mad%20Men%20season%203 |

Peggy getting stoned was the best! I love her. She's so unpredictable. How funny is Olive, her new secretary, practically glued to her side? Pete and Trudy's Charleston was freaky/fascinating. Vincent Kartheiser shocked me with how good he can dance. He sure is a skinny little thing! Roger is so pathetic these days. Oh how the mighty have fallen. This eppy was like Joss's musical episode in Buffy.....lots of singing and dancing. I loved it!
I have always loved Joan and wish we could see more of her and her life. I finally got my wish. PLEASE let her dump that horribly evil doctor hubby of hers. Ugh.....he's just sick. I wish she would get back with Roger. They were good together. Instead, he's stuck with a young, (albeit beautiful) little bimbo and she's stuck with Satan. |

In the past I have been kind of back and forth with Betty's parenting ability/interest. Sunday made me really take notice though. Although I don't excuse Don whoring around. I think that maybe if he were a better husband, she would be better. I love their housekeeper, the way she talks to the dad! So who is the next one to stray? If Betty runs into that guys again, my money is on her. Pregnant or not, she would, and he seemed to get off on the fact that she was pregnant. |

Betty is a psycho slut and Dog is a cute whoredog. Having parents who were in the 'business' in NYC at the same time this show takes place makes me wonder if I didn't miss a lot of interesting stuff before i was born. ;) Betty sure doesn't get the 'Mother of the Year Award' and I still can't grasp why Don puts up with that woman but I guess he's definitely a good guy because of his own family situation.
Ditto. I just love Joan and hate her sick husband. I'd like to have hope that Roger and her will end up together eventually but who knows. |

I am forming *expectations* for the (hopefully) many-years-distant finale season. *I hope Don gets divorced and finds true love. I think he feels *obligated* to make the family work, given his past. During the 60's, the "Times, They Are A 'changing"....Don is the logical character to show us the omnipresent divorce culture. *If it doesn't happen sooner, I want Pete to find his son. I have a soft spot for Pete for some reason. *I too want Joan to leave the doctor-jerk. I noticed that, now she's married to him, she's becoming more assertive. I predict she asserts herself right out of that marriage. *The final episode should be Joan and Peggy taking over Sterling Cooper. Betty burns her bra and becomes an ultra feminist. *A threesome with Don-Peggy-Joan would not be amiss. :wineclick: Edited by KMInfinity, Sep 4 2009, 08:47 PM.
