NetFlix finally had the first disc of season 1 available, so I got to check this show out. Now I understand all the praise of Bryan Cranston. He's great! Anna Gunn seems familiar to me. I didn't recognize her recent gigs, so it must be that one episode of Seinfeld from all those years ago. I've seen the first three episodes and loved the dark humor of this show. The dynamic between Walter White and Jesse is fun. Though I hated chemistry in school, I appreciate it's presence here. The acid eating through the bathtub was CRAZY! Great scene with Walter and Crazy 8 down there in the basement....then Walter realizes Crazy 8 is going to attack him with the shard of broken plate. Now Walter has to kill him! Right? Good stuff! |

Hm, I'll have to look up her Seinfeld... you didn't watch Deadwood? She was Olyphant's wife... You are in for SOOOOOOO much good stuff, marathoning Breaking Bad. |

No, I haven't watched Deadwood, though I've read good things. I think it was on one of those channels I don't have. HBO or Showtime? But those Seinfeld episodes are etched in my memory. Just looked up Gunn's episode. She was Jerry's girlfriend who George (while not wearing his glasses) thought he saw kissing Jerry's cousin. The horse face joke. I'm excited about getting into this show. It's nice knowing they've gone in a direction that has received a good amount of critical praise. |

Yeah, Deadwood was an HBO... Seinfeld - remember the story, but not that it was her... fun. >> It's nice knowing they've gone in a direction that has received a good amount of critical praise. It's astonishing how they continue to find fresh ways to ratchet up the tension... more, more, more... with very few releases of any kind, where you feel like you can breathe easy and relax... there's always another fantastic crisis or 'Oh, shit!' moment right around the corner... |

I agree, just when things are getting a bit tame, pow, an epi comes that knocks you out. Wow, Dax, I did not recognize Anna Gunn but since you mentioned it yes, now I do. Bilki, when you get to the last epi of season 2 you won't believe it. |

I'll let you know when I get there, Krystal. Just finished season 1. My understanding is that they lost two episodes due to the writer's strike, so I'm not sure if this is how they intended to end the season. Plenty of good stuff in those last four episodes, though. Walter blowing up KEN WINS car was a good laugh. LOVED the intervention with the talking pillow. It was both humorous and emotionally compelling. And Walter using the fulminated mercury to get Tuco's attention was great....but it's funny how the bolder Walter gets the deeper into trouble he goes. Also liked the stuff with Marie stealing the tiara for the baby and Skyler pretending she was going into labor back in jewelry store owner's office. |

In the middle of season 2, now. It's been interesting to watch Walt's transition from sympathetic character to asshole, though I'm guessing he was an ass before we met him. We just happened to meet him just as he was diagnosed with cancer. Also pleased that Hank is playing a bigger part in what's going on. "Peekaboo", the episode in which Jesse goes to "take care of" Spooge/Skank and meets up with their kid, has been my favorite episode of this season, so far. Bob Odenkirk debuts (in a role that NetFlix makes mention of) in the next episode. Does Saul Goodman play an important role? |

The plane crash ending of season 2 was anti-climatic for me. With the way they teased it throughout the season, I thought we were going to see Walt suffer some close-to-home ramifications for his actions. It felt like it was time for that. Of course, Skyler did leave him....so there's that. I did enjoy her confrontation. She had her ducks in a row and Walt wasn't able to talk his way out of it this time. For as hard as he can be with Jesse, I thought Walt had been rather sloppy with his personal life. Isn't that the way things go. |

>> M y understanding is that they lost two episodes due to the writer's strike, so I'm not sure if this is how they intended to end the season. Yeah, there would have been nine in instead of seven, but Gilligan is glad they stopped where they did - had they done the 'full season' (of two more), they'd have done something he'd have regretted (at least getting to that quickly). >> Does Saul Goodman play an important role? Yes, Odenkirk's a series regular in 3, in 8 or 9 of the 13... (Mike, played by Jonathan Banks, is a regular, too). >> With the way they teased it throughout the season, I thought we were going to see Walt suffer some close-to-home ramifications for his actions. The bodies under the sheets on the driveway made us sweat a bit, sure, but... I love the way the season ended. Fun trick they did with the episode titles... the episodes opening with the teddy bear in the pool were: 1. Seven Thirty-Seven 4. Down 10. Over 13. ABQ >> It felt like it was time for that. Of course, Skyler did leave him....so there's that. I did enjoy her confrontation. Lots more coming, re: consequences for Walter's actions. |

I really loved that ending. Yes, as you go on with the show you'll see Walt get darker and more dangerous. |

Which one is Mike? I've been reading Alan Sepinwall's reviews after I watch each episode and it makes me chuckle when I read someone comment that they still find Walt sympathetic. I don't find him sympathetic at all, which is just fine with me. Part of the fun is now watching him become more of a monster and seeing what provokes those rare moments of him expressing some kind of human compassion. Any ideas on where I could watch episodes of season 3? I'm guessing they won't be out on DVD until some time next year. |

>> Which one is Mike? The 'fixer'/clean-up guy. I don't see Walt as 'all bad', but it's definitely been a big slide... he wasn't a bad guy to start off with, but.. some of his choices now... yeah. Jane was the worst. >> Any ideas on where I could watch episodes of season 3? Legally, via itunes or amazon... illegally, sure, there are ways, but I haven't done any hunting.... We don't have a date on the dvd yet. Season 4 not starting 'til July, though. |

OK, now I remember Mike. He was an interesting guy. On the DVD commentary, Aaron Paul was saying that Jonathan Banks actually slapped him in that scene......over and over, again. Amazon, huh? Is that a pay-per-view kind of thing? Don't have the itunes thing. Maybe I'll just have to wait. |

Yeah, $2 an episode isn't cool for me (though I suppose I DO gladly pay that price for a dvd copy on occasion...) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003AYDPYQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=digital-video&qid=1282629985&sr=1-1 |

TV fans - AMC will re-air "Breaking Bad" from the beginning, every Wednesday night/Thursday morning from 12:30 AM to 2:30 AM (two episodes a week), starting tonight. I highly, HIGHLY recommend it! |

Hm. 33 episodes to show... two a week... we're supposed to start up Season 4 (FINALLY) sometime in July... I can't imagine that they'll skip around any, but they might have to step up to 4-a-week as they get close to the end... |

If anyone sees this before it happens, I've notice that they're showing the first episode of Breaking Bad's third season after the second airing of tonight's episode of The Killing. Maybe it will be a weekly thing? |
