I highly highly recommend CBGB. Not many reviewers have like it. It has a lot of flaws. But if you think of it as an overview of an amazing moment and place in music, and don't expect much depth, but more of 'the sense' of the place and time, you will enjoy it.

But if you don't like punk at all, then skip it. Imo, it's worth it just for the litany of re-enactments of the births of some famous careers. I laughed out loud a lot, such as when Talking Heads frontman David Byrne introduces the band the very first time they play onstage.

Dax, think of it as the "Treme" of the punk world, and you'll see the similarities. Amazing cast, very visual, lots of music.
