So, the DT is the third book? I thought it was the fifth, and the third movie.
The confusion: Narnia time flows differently from our time...

Order the Chronicles of Narnia were written:

1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
The four Pevensie children - Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy - enter Narnia.

2. Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (1951)
The four Pevensie children return to Narnia centuries later to help Caspian the 10th gain the throne.

3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
The two younger Pevensie children - Edmund and Lucy, with their bratty cousin Eustace - return 3 years later & take a sea voyage from Narnia to the sweet sea...

4. The Silver Chair (1953)
Eustace, and a schoolmate named Jill, return to Narnia 5 years later on a quest to rescue Caspian's son Rilian. Best character ever----Puddleglum!

5. The Horse and His Boy (1954)
Time wonkiness----the events of this book take place DURING the time of the first book....

6. The Magician's Nephew (1955)
The prequel - children Digory (the professor of LWW) and Polly - witness Narnia's creation. In "our" time, this is Edwardian London, before LLW during WWII.

7. The Last Battle (1956)
300(?) years after SC, Eustace and Jill come to the aid of King Tirian.

A new publishing order, very controversial at the time, numbered them chronologically according to Narnian events:

6. The Magician's Nephew (1955)
1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
5. The Horse and His Boy (1954)
2. Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (1951
3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
4. The Silver Chair (1953)
7. The Last Battle (1956)

**************

I hope DT does well. There is some uncertainty SC will be made.
