Becoming an Animagis is a very difficult study and you would have to get approved by the Ministry. While you can still become one anyway, if you remember in the books, after much studying James and Co became Animagi by their fifth or sixth year after studying for at least four. Right now you an't do anything, because you're all first years, but as the roleplay goes on who knows? |

Becoming an animagus is very, very difficult. Sirius, James and Peter were only able to accomplish it because they trained for hours and hours on end, and all to be with Remus in his transformations (Friendship!). Here's an exert from an article from the Harry Potter wiki-- "Only very powerful and skilled wizards are able to become Animagi. The process of becoming an Animagus is long and arduous, and has the potential to backfire and cause the transformation to go horribly wrong. Once the initial training is over, an Animagus can change at will at any time, with or without a wand." So it's highly unlikely a first year would become an animagus. However, through proper training, it's possible to become one in later years. If you meant an animal pet (also called familiars in other books series) then yes, I suppose it's possible. You bring a familiar to school, I would guess. |

As a general rule, I want no Animagus' in the school. We've had people be them as first years and that was, to me, absolutely ridiculous. I may amend the rule after a few school years, but for now let's just not include them in the roleplay, shall we? The last thing I need is a bunch of rainbow-haired hooligans to be messing up my lawn ornaments! |
