2012- The End of the Star World Decade

2011 saw what was considered to be one of the most brutal conflicts on Star World's soil since the Dark Ages. The Star World Civil War destroyed two entire Kingdoms and dissolved the SWDF. Millions in total died over the course of a single year, the Council was shattered, and many of the former Yoshi Bodyguards were systematically picked off. Shattered, the planet called for help.

They were answered by their allies, the Galactic Federation. The massive transgalactic nation sent fleets to secure the planet, rebuilding its cities and enforcing order in the chaos that followed the civil war. Star World seemed to be on the road to recovery, maybe even rising back to their position as the most powerful nation in the entire Starlight Galaxy.

However, the tyrant Rexor took advantage of the planet's weakened state. Using the corpse of an old Dark Age Titan, he ascended to a god-like state. What meager forces were left on Star World could not stand up to him, and much of the population evacuated. In a desperate push, Team TOT, the Federation and several allies pushed to destroy him. The battle was fierce, resulting in the destruction of the Mana-Titan Dominatris and most of the remaining Star World fleet. Team TOT engaged him in combat, and eventually did destroy him even in his god-like state. In the aftermath, Team TOT was not found.

Though Rexor was dead, Star World's ecosystem was ruined. Rexor had begun to decay the world, much like the Dark Ages of years before, only this time there was no Anubis to heal the wounds of the planet. The population was low, scattered after the constant attacks, the vaunted Star World technology was lost, and their world's resources were wilting before them. In a controversial decision, Star World was put under the full Federation control, and set as a planet of the Federation. Mexous Sniffin was chosen as Star World's senator to the Federation.

Resources were poured into the world, bringing its ecosystem back up to speed. Powerful relics such as the Beanstar were shipped offworld in order to keep Star World from being a target of any sort of military action. It was clear that Star World would never again be what it was, a powerhouse that stood up to all evil in the universe and the beacon of the Starlight Sector. However, now it finally had no need for it. Many of the old hatreds were healed after the war, after the survivors saw what their hate had done to them. There was no need for heroes such as the Yoshi Bodyguards anymore.

Finally, Star World was at peace.

The Galactic Federation – The Pinnacle of the Universe

Meanwhile, the Galactic Federation was in its golden age. After 100 years of strife, the Federation had overcome every challenge thrown at them. It had bested the Phazon Crisis, Space Pirates, rebellions, the Metal Army, the Galdenthane and the Dark Perforation. Now with Star World under its control, the Federation was the most powerful force in the entire known universe. The one power that contested them was the Kirken Empire.

In 2016, the Federation settled on a way to even this score. A group of Kriken Warrior brood Wanderers was captured by Federation scientists, who developed a counter pheromone that would disrupt the Kriken's communications to one another. This was known as Operation: Poisoned Hive, which would cause any Kriken who came in contact with the infected to lose their connection to the other Kriken. In a culture which revolved around massive hives of billions, the hope was that this would spread quickly. The wanders were sent back to the Angler Galaxy, given planets to target.

The plan worked immediately. Within three months the core Kriken worlds began to revolt against one another, reverting to a feral state within weeks of their pheromones being cut off. Where forces would have been gathered for another surge, instead they focused on destroying the disease. To this day, the Kriken Empire is caught in a war against the so-called “Death Kriken” and fight a war to purify their race from the disease.

Meanwhile, the Federation turned to advancing itself. In 2018, advances made from the Dark Perforation Black Hole Cannon allowed the Federation access to three more galaxies: Cydanir, Eldinal, and Serenity. There was an attempted settlement of Tetra but the threat of the new Metal Army caused the expedition to be canceled. They absorbed the technology and scientists of the Cyber Bell Vanguard and the former SWDF, pushing their robotics and nanotechnology to a new level.

The Federation now had no enemies, and existed in a universe where they were on top. As such, the few planets that existed independently took to fearing them, even preparing to defend against them.

Tensions in Starlight

The Starlight was once considered to be the bastion of independence that coexisted peacefully with their Federation neighbors. However, after Star World became a Federation world, they now had assets deep in the galaxy. The old colonies were now the Federations, and Renton was established as the center of the Galactic Federation's operations in the galaxy. There was a push to bring many of the old Alliance of Worlds under Federation control, offering shared advancements in the golden age of their empire. Many planets accepted, pushing the Federation closer to complete dominance of the Starlight.

The combined nations of the Starlite System, known as the Warpstarmy, was the first to speak out. With one of their leaders, Chills Pacone, now in hiding and the proximity of Star World to their planet, they began to worry about Federation economic or military aggression. There was a short tug of war over the planet Popworld, where both the Federation and Warpstarmy were caught trying to gain influence over the planet. The world eventually was taken under the sway of the Warpstarmy and joined their union, however with the a bit of distaste from the Federation.

Tensions snapped temporarily when the Federation sent forces to Rareworld with the mission to track three fugitives responsible for killing former SWDF General and Yoshi Bodyguard Subsourian Ereshkigal. Rareworld refused their entry, but after a week of negotiation the Federation pushed into their world anyway. In response, the nearby planet of Mobius sent their fleet with demands that the Federation pull back or they would fire upon them The Federation forces pulled out, never finding the three fugitives.

It became apparent that divided the Starlight Galaxy would be overrun by the Federation if left unchecked. Three nations came together, Pokeworld, Mobius, and the Warpstarmy, forming the Starlight Triglomerate. This alliance focused on independence from the Federation, trading among themselves and pushing for independent Starlight nations. They gathered all their forces under one chain of command, focusing on military advancement in order to hope to gain a change should it come to war.

However, other nations were less than pleased with a simple armistice. Many displaced nationalistic populations were ready for rebellion. The populations of hundreds of worlds, including the scattered remains of the Sons of Cyclosis and the Space Pirates, came to make the Axis Revolution, named after the group of nations that stood against the Starlite Empire thousands of years ago. These began a guerrela war against the Federation, to which the Federation has been slow to respond due to tensions with the Starlight Triglomerate. Thus the Axis have begun to gain ground on several worlds, claiming groups of systems and pushing into Federation colonies. Some worlds have gone into outright rebellion, forcing what Federation forces are stationed in the Starlight to engage and pacify them.
