Welcome to Brotherhood of Sithis. We hope you enjoy your visit.

You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. This means you are limited to certain aspects of the board and there are some features you cannot use. If you would like to join our Elder Scrolls based community, you must create a character within the lore of the Elder Scrolls and write them a back story. Our story began approximately a year after the Oblivion Crisis, and it ranges all over Tamriel. Each Province is represented and usable. Please take the time to read the back stories of those who are already here before you write yours, so we do not have repeats of ideas. (Great minds, after all, do think alike!)

We now have a section that takes place during and after the events in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This section does not in any way interact with the old one.

Again, you are most welcome here! Once your story is complete, join up and post it! A Speaker will contact you, and you will be able to join a Sanctuary. Or, if you would rather not be a member of the Brotherhood, you can request to play another faction. It is rather flexible and good. If you have any questions, feel free to email Shivani at anonymous_celt@yahoo.com.

Please note that The Elder Scrolls, The Dark Brotherhood, Sithis, and several of the NPCs are all owned by Bethesda Softworks.

In addition to the Five Tenets as listed above, there are others which will be in force whenever our Brethren meet together here. They are as follows.

1. We are a Family in the Brotherhood. Treat all other family members with respect at all times.

2. Treat everyone as you wish to be treated yourself.

3. Not everyone has played Oblivion, or other ES games, so be kind. Even if a question seems breathtakingly simple, be pleasant and courteous if you answer it. We were all young apprentices once.

4. Show respect to your Superior Family members. They are not there because they can cook, or look awesome. They are there through dint of hard work and loyalty. They will always treat you with the respect due to you.

5. Never flame anyone. Ever.

6. Respect the fact that others may not speak English as a their native tongue. Be pleasant , and ask yourself how well you could communicate in French, Chinese, or another language.

7. Exercise patience. If you ask a question, allow people time to answer it. Huffy assassins are a dreadful sight!

8. Please endeavour to enjoy yourselves. Humour is always appreciated, hilarity a rare gem. We, in the Brotherhood relish and indulge in both. Assassins have a sense of humour too!

Angry Ghost! BOO!
With Skyrim in full swing, and new members that haven't been with us for several months starting to appear, I thought it would be time to add a few rules. These are just preliminary, and the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Alani and Shivani can add any whenever they please.

9. No Oblivion RP characters in the Skyrim RP and vice versa. You cannot use the same character in both RPs.

10. Before you actually start playing, you must post a first contract for your Dark Brotherhood initiation (if you are indeed a member of the DB), and a back story so we can learn a little bit about your character. All of this must be lore friendly! If you have questions, ask. The Lore forum is currently under construction, so not much is there as of yet.

11. You cannot be the Hero of Kvatch or the Dragonborn. The actual player character from the main quests of both games have been removed. They are either dead or unavailable to interact with because of their location. Some have special privileges to have once known these characters, but they cannot speak with them anymore, just like the rest of us.

12. Guild Head positions are given under special circumstances, and with the exception of Lokir and Alani, are there because of an event not in the game. Alani's position as Listener is different than the game, though it occurs because of the events in the game, where as Lokir is following the path within the game. These are the ONLY exceptions.

13. I know I said this elsewhere, but this IS an official rule, so will be added thusly. And under my lucky number as well.

NO LORE FROM OUTSIDE THE ELDERSCROLLS. PERIOD. This means nothing from Lord of the Rings, Legend of the Seeker/Sword of Truth (I see an Agiel, I will hammer the user in the head), Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time (no adam, people), Star Wars, Tad Williams's books (our elves are NOT Sithi, and they never will be), anything by Stephen R. Lawhead (I know his books are epic), or Terry Pratchet's Diskworld.

No arguments. No exceptions. I don't care if it looks/sounds cool. If it's specific to another fandom, it does not exist here. If you have taken something from another lore, and we catch you, you will be asked to remove it, unless you can provide PROOF that it also exists in ES lore. And by proof, it had better be a wiki link or something in the Bethesda accredited sites.

Guys, I mean this. This is important. You've all been wonderful with this so far. Don't blow it.
