Today YMCA is the lifeline in communities around the world. They are a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA came into being in response to social challenges. They study the challenges that keep individuals from reaching their full potential and in turn provide services and support that make the people self-reliant, productive and connected to the community. It influences the community and supports them through services focused on areas such as child welfare, community health, job training, environmental education, quality of life or family services.

One of the examples of how the YMCA provides support to the innumerable people of the society is by providing education and employment training. One of the most important things for an individual and his family to support themselves and their loved ones is to earn an income. The YMCA programs such as adult literacy, GED preparation and job training provide confidence and skills to people and help them to bridge their skill gaps and start their way towards seeking employment and become self sufficient.

The YMCA offers memberships and respite child care services to the eligible military families who are under intense pressure. The YMCA thus provides the extra support to the children of the military family when their loved ones are away from home.

The YMCA offers learn-to-swim programs and raises awareness of the importance of water safety in urban communities nationwide to help the underserved people who die due to lack of water safety and swimming skills.

ali sharaf, the President and CEO of Victron Energy, finds satisfaction and happiness in helping the YMCA through yearly donations.
