First Christmas in the New House; Making a house a home...

Christmas was coming much too soon this year. She had so much to do that she hadn't expected, so many chores, details, problems and duties; but the calendar just kept moving forward at what seemed a frenetic pace. All she could do was... her best. Her friends would have to pick up the slack. She lit a fire in the fireplace and turned the music a little higher so carols could be heard throughout the house, and she hoped everyone would like the new sound system she had installed in the new house.

Ah, yes, it was a new house. She still missed the old one sometimes, with it's memories both heartfelt and raukus, and filled to the brim with delightful souvenirs, but moving had been necessary and completely unavoidable although she had firmly refused to move while the place had deteriorated around her for years. Ah, well, it finally had to be done, and she was muchly pleased by the new house built on a gorgeous country lane where there was plenty of room and hills and trees. There was even a waterfall at the back of the property, and it had become one of her favorite haunts to just sit and think. She had worked very hard along with her friends to make the new place a home for them all, and it had gone well. And she still had the Club at the edge of the city for everyday life where strangers became friends, and friends became family.

Friends... she was so grateful for her friends.

Now there were many pies in the smaller oven, plus a huge turkey, glazed ham and hearty prime rib roasting in the larger one. Stewed fruit, cranberry cobbler, cold punch, hot cider, and all manner of treats and goodies were already underway. As a special treat, gingerbread men creatures were decorated and already cooling by the front door, each with a guest's name and likeness for when her friends arrived.

The table was set with a white lace tablecloth imported from ancient Hybernia, the plates were creamy porcelain with handpainted holly leaves, the silverware was actually bronzeware and shone with a dark luster, and the crystal stemware had been edged in gold. Tiny wreathes with red berries circled candlesticks up and down the table and many chairs waited to be filled.

She loved this time of year as she loved no other, for this was a time of simple sharing among old friends, new friends, and friends yet to be, and she wasn't about to let a few recent problems slow her down. EVERYONE was welcome in her home, and she looked forward to seeing them all.

Blue pushed the boxes of decorations closer to the tree, lit a candle in the window, and waited for the first guest to arrive and make this house truly a home.

As always, Holy was dressed in a suit for the annual Christmas Gala. This year, the suit was silver/gray, beneath which he wore a black shirt with a white collar and a black tie. His shoes were shined to the point you could see your reflection in them. His cuff links were silver snowmen.

In each hand he had a shopping bag, each looking like it was about to burst. In his right hand was a variety of deserts, and in his left, decorations and presents for the new house!

He approached the door, looked down at his hands, and sighed. Bending forward, he rang the doorbell with his nose.

She couldn't believe it; she hadn't even sat down when she heard the doorbell chime. Her first guest already? Could it be? Opening the door she discovered a dapper young man standing in the snow, balancing heavy stuff in both hands to the point of overload. Warmth and goodwill exuded from his mischievious smile and she was happy to see a tried and true friend.

"Holy! What a good omen that the first holiday guest in our new home is our resident angel! ...Hope that means that we're being watched over by some very cool entities..." Blue helped him with his packages and gave him a huge {{{HUG}}} before he even had a chance to breathe.

She closed the door behind him and picked a gingerbread cookie from the tray. It had a big smile on it's face and wings set in white icing, and was meant just for Holy. "Happy Holidays, luv."

...Now, WHO got a noseprint on my doorbell...?

The doorbell rings again, and Blue opens it to see a giant robot, dressed in a red santa suit, beard, hat, and all. Over his back was a sack... that smelled strongly of rumcake.

"Merry Christmas Blue!"

"Santa's here early!" yelled Blue, jumping up and down. Her old friend and second-in-command-in-charge-of-everything-chief-cook-and-bottle-washer a/k/a Roadbuster was the second to arrive, outfitted in perfect holiday style and smelling of rum. She peeked out the door, thinking she would either see eight tiny reindeer or a soused pirate wearing too much eyeliner that had been popular in the movies recently, then gave Roadie a {{{HUGE HUG}}} and welcomed him into the holiday spirit of their new home.

"Merry Christmas, Roadie, and have a treat!" she said as she handed him a gingerbread 'bot, extra-large size.

As the snow gently fell outside a lone figure emerges from over the hill. He stands tall and dark, his black and dark purple armor plates glistening in the subzero temperatures. As the Autobot came over the hill a large sled filled with colorfully wrapped gifts can be seen behind him being driven by what looks like an old He-Man action Figure and pulled by Battlecat.

As he reached for the doorbell to the still new house, he could already hear the music and merriment going on inside and a warm glow came to his spark, "...ahhh, its good to be home."

Inside, SantaRoadie was stringing thousands of tiny lights on the huge balsam fir that was growing in the middle of the room. That's right... growing through the floorboards. Blue didn't have the heart to chop it down, so instead she had the floorboards picked up and the tree planted in the basement. When January came she would have the tree placed back in the wild, with regular watering and feeding to make sure it was none the worse for the experience.

Holy had also been given a special task... Blue may have a new house, but the thick, heavy rafters had been transplanted from the old house, along with various woods and stonework. As a flyer, Holy was the perfect person to take the hundreds of delicate crystaline icicles Blue had gotten on one of her many trips, and hang them along the rafters. As Holy attached each icicle, it began to glow according to the sound in the room, and soon there was a whole chorus of delicate tiny-voiced chimes singing and glowing along with the music player. The effect was dazzling.

"Slayer!" called Blue as she pulled the door open again and gave him a big {{{HUG}}}. "Welcome, old friend, and have a purple gingerbread cat-bot!"

Looking past him, she saw a big sled pulled by a big green cat. "Why is it always cats???" she laughed, and waved at the driver for them both to come in. "And who's your friend?"

"Isn't that like Blackstar or something? I thought he rode a dragon..." Roady smirks as he continues to string lights.

He had brought along a few minicons that he had found to help with the job. Their smaller constructions made the job a heck of a lot easier.

"No, no.. Wreckage, the bubble lights need to be facing upwards to work right! Bonecrusher! Stop using rocket launchers inside! Knockout... actually, those lights look pretty good Knockout..."

*comes out with a second plate of gingerbread cookies*

*whistles loudly to catch all the minicon's attention* "Alright, boys, look what i have! As soon as you finish with the decorating, i have a whole plateful of Decepticons you can mangle and massacre... Do a good job, now..." Blue winked at Roadie and handed him the plate.

Hugs Blue back, "Merry Christmas Blue!"

"No no no Roady thats He-Man and Battlecat. I needed some help with all these gifts so who better than the strongest man in the universe, well his action figure at least, heh." He-Man is seen carrying gift after gift from the sled to under Blue's tree.

Blue watches He-Man going back and forth between the sled and the Christmas tree, muscles rippling. She takes a deep breath, "Niiiiice..." and turns to pet Battlecat, cooing over him like he's a big housecat. "I have a cookie for you, too... hope you like catnip-laced gingerbread kitties!"

"Nice friends you have, LS."

Blue gave him a shy but satisfied smile, "Thank you for that." and put him to work stringing garland around the house, inside and out.

He thrived in this weather.

The snow fell gently, but at gentle whispers it fell *away* from him, and with a polite request kept the worst of it's bite out of the wind that graced his unprotected face.

Black boots laced along the sides and with large buttoned flaps crunched on the fresh snowfall as he approached the house. His trademark brown cloak - with the pattern that looked like stitching until one got close enough to realize it was part of the fabric - swirled in the snow, but it hung loose and open revealing not his trademark orange and green ensemble, but rather a black silk poet shirt laced with silver thread and soft, almost fuzzy, black pants that tucked into his boots. On the boots themselves Rust had placed tiny silver bells on the first buttoned flap, making him jingle slightly when he walked.

Readjusting his glasses and the hood that covered his sandy blonde hair, he raised a brown gloved hand and rang the doorbell, while the other hand checked the strap to the pack of gifts slung around his shoulder.

Blue was definitely in a good mood, cheered by the arrival of old friends and new ones. Everyone had some small job to do and the house was beginning to resonate with good will and friendship. Opening the door again, she was greeted by Rust, who removed his usual brown cloak to reveal a surprisingly handsome outfit in black and silver that looked very romantic and very party-like.

"Welcome, welcome!" Blue said as she {{{HUGGED}}} him, taking his cloak and heading him over to the tree to arrange his gifts and then to start laying all the stockings by the fireplace. "This cookie is for you..." she smiled, handing him a gingerbread cookie that was shaped just a bit like Darth Vader but iced in shades of rich brown complete with tiny imbellishments on the edges, just like his cloak.

By this point, Knockout had 'borrowed' Holy's snowman cufflinks and was imbedding their image in every available surface by stamping them like a brand into the walls, the floor, the furniture, the rafters, and even a few unsuspecting heels. Holy was giving chase, trying to catch up with him without tripping over furniture or bumping into people as they zipped around the room.

LS, a tall 'bot who always kept his black and purple armor plating perfectly shined, had finished hanging candy canes and had found the silly string left over from Halloween, and had striped himself to look more like Spiderman as he wreaked mischief on the MiniCons by shooting them when they didn't expect it.

Meanwhile, Wreckage was in the kitchen launching gingerbread Dementacons Decepticons from the toaster to the delight of Bonecrusher, who was using them for skeet shooting practice.

Battlecat was sitting in front of the picture window that displayed the rear yard, swishing his tail and growling at the cardinals and bluejays who had come to eat seeds and berries. With each swipe of his massive paw, his claws were scratching the glass until the surface seemed etched with an original Jack Frost creation, but it kept him happy.

With each new sound, the crystal icicles that Holy had hung were chiming and flashing their mellow glow, as they fell into the rhythm of the voices and laughter and music around them.

Roadie's santa suit had been stuffed with balloons and garland to make him more rotund and fit the part, and as fast as he could pull out the stuffing, the minicons were packing it back in and laughing with highpitched giggles that kept a smile on his poor, beleagered face. Oh, well, it was good practice for when his little one arrived.

He-Man was rearranging the furniture in what he thought was a more pleasing traffic pattern so the guests could easily flow around the room (and showing off his muscles by picking up separate pieces in each hand with ease).

Roadie's rumcake had become the center of attention and everyone was on at least their third piece and getting VERY happy. Carols were being sung, holiday cheer was glowing in everyone's faces, everyone had a drink of something special in their hands, the decorations were starting to look fantastic, and laughter and good will abounded.

Fashionably and unintentionally late, a knock sounded on the door.

Upon it being opened, there stood a plain, almost non-descript looking guy. He had brown hair, which had a few wisps of snowy powder in it, and a clean-shaven face. Stepping in through the door, Lord John Aversin shook the snow out of his hair and off his flannel shirt, stomping his boots just before crossing the threshhold, too.

With a big smile on his face and a small leather bag in his hand, he walked insie and promptly went blind. His spectacles, used to the cold weather outside, immediately fogged up in the warmth of the house.

Still smiling, and remembering Blue was right in front of him, he hugged her anyways. "Tis a wonderful season for a party, all. Happy holidays, all around."

Hugging him back, Blue welcomed John to his first holiday extravaganza also-known-as Blue's winter shindig. "Hey, get in here and make yourself at home, my friend! I'm so glad you showed up. And no, you're not late, this party will be going on till mid-January."

She showed him the Christmas tree, the boxes of decorations, the food, and the friends, then she handed him a gingercookie of a thin man in a flannel shirt with a shield that carried both a dragon's head and a Magen David. "Welcome home, John."

"Danke," replied the Dragonsbane in German.

Opening up the leather sack, he said "I brought these for the tree." Lifting out a handful of trinkets, little glittering golden scales with hooks on them. "Dragonscale ornaments. Courtesey of the Golden Dragon of Wyr." He smiled, used one hand to eat the cookie offered him, and used the other to hang the scale-ornaments upon the tannenbaum.

"Now, those are the most unique ornaments i've seen in years! How beautiful!" (love the creativity, you've already fit right in!)

She turns to see Wreckage shooting a mini-laser at LS, who jumped over the sofa and ran into Rust on his way into the kitchen, followed by the big green cat who was taking swipes at Wreckage.

Dreadnought
100
An obsidian black craft dove out of the stratosphere quikly decending from the reaches of outerspace and into the atmospheric envelope. Thunder peeled as the craft slowly eased down from hypersonic velocities. It banked over the city and arrowed toward the sarrounding wilderness until it came upon a simple new home set in an almost perfect slice of land. Slowly, almost hesitantly it circled the home as if weary of setting down.

It was strange to be here, to actually be here instead of understanding it in some living memory, experiencing it like some phantom universe. But things had been put into motion at the highest level and this was just one terrifying step. The craft began to hover and seemed to half convert into something between a humaniod and a fighter craft commonly refered to as a gerwalk and landed.

Steeling himself Wallace popped the canopy and hoped out of the craft to land in the snow with a soft "oof." Opening the left leg he reached inside and pulled out a large red sac fool of gifts and trudged up to the door. "This miiight get weird," he sighed before ensuring his long woolen jacket was as neat and presentable as his hair and rang the bell.
