Tenth Doctor: The Musical A very well put together Video Homage of Tennant's Run. Guest Starring Christopher Eccelston. I post that, because it eventually lead me to this clip from John Pertwee's era (The Third Doctor). I've not seen much of the Old School Who, but this caught my attention. Doing some digging, it's appearently from a seven episode storyline called "Inferno", and it's widely heralded as one of the best Who stories. So I know what I'm getting next paycheck. |

oh, that was great! especially the ending... ![]() As for Pertwee's "Inferno": "This seven-part story arc from 1970 is a high-water mark for the already superb Pertwee-era Doctor, a tense, imaginative adventure that evokes the U.K.'s chilling Quatermass TV productions and movies in its mix of science fiction and horror." oh, i love Professor Quatermass and the stuff he falls into! |

"Flesh and Stone" aired today. The Weeping Angels are getting stronger by the second, and the Doctor's winging it in a big way. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the Angels are after something much bigger then just the radiation of a crashed star liner - the crack in Amy Pond's wall has followed her to this alien world, and its nature is almost beyond imagining: Time, running out. Faced with deadly Weeping Angels on one side and the unmaking of reality on the other The Doctor, River Song, and Father Octavian also have another problem to deal with. It seems there is an Angel in Amy Pond's eye...and it's coming out. Spoiler: click to toggle

i didn't mind Rose at all, in fact i liked her. i thought a lot of their relationship was touchingly honest, and it's about time the Doctor actually loved someone more than as a come-and-go companion. (Although i know someone from another board who would be typing ENCYCLOPEDIAS full of reasons and personal feelings about why Rose was a terrible person. Which she has, in fact, if you know where to look on fanfiction.net, lol.) Spoiler: click to toggle Oh, well. Another explicit understanding down the drain! |

Caught "The Vampires of Venice". Disturbed by Amy's recent behavior, the Doctor travels to her fiance' Bachelor Party to pick him up, and wisk him and Amy off to a romantic get away - The Impossible City, Venice (circa 1580). Meanwhile, there seems to be a school for young girls that is making a name for itself because the women who enroll there come out different. Different as in having no reflection, being adverse to sunlight, and sporting a pretty impressive set of canines. Has Rory and Amy's Romantic Retreat turned into a good old fashion nightmare? |

"The Hungry Earth" aired today. In 2020, a drilling experiment has managed to awaken something best left buried. While Amy and Rory were all set for a day in Rio, they and the Doctor discover a strange town with blue grass and where bodies disappear from graveyards...as well as a ground that literally eats people. But things are even more complicated then that. The drill has inadvertently reawakened the Silurians, once dominant species of Planet Earth. And now that the "Ape Men" have given them an excuse, the Silurians are looking to purge their planet of a rival and reclaim their rightful place as masters of the world. And they have Amy. |
