2 cups crab meat (fresh crabs, steamed and cleaned, or 2 cans) 2 pkgs. cream cheese 2 tbsp. green onions, thinly chopped 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce A pinch of salt, pepper 2 pinches garlic powder PLUS: finely chopped walnuts and a good half bottle of red cocktail sauce Soften cream cheese and mix all ingredients together except walnuts and cocktail sauce, shaping mixture into a ball with your hands. Roll the ball until completely covered in walnuts, pressing them in. Cover to keep the air out and chill well. Take out of 'fridge and let the ball soften a bit before your guests arrive, placing on a large pretty plate. Pour cocktail sauce over the ball to cover completely. Decorate the edge of the plate with tons of your favorite crackers and add a cheese knife. I guarantee there won't be any leftovers! |

I am going to try this... What kind of crab do you get over there on the East Coast? We get Dungeness and Snow here along with Alaska King... |

The only time i've had Dungeness was in Chicago. Absolutely my favorite! We get Alaska King crab and Snow crab here, plus a lot of fresh fish and lobster from local professional fishing boats, but our local waters are chock full of blue crabs right off any dock, which are really fine eating. The other crabs, like calico crabs, are just for avoiding when you go swimming. ![]() |
