So this weekend I got to participate in something really special - a Renaissance style wedding for one of my friends as a Groomsman.

It's been raining all week here, but thankfully the rain let up the day of the wedding to allow for a great outdoor ceremony.

But enough rambling, time for pictures!

The Bride's Ladies in Waiting work over the Groom to ensure he's not going to have any second thoughts.

The lucky couple.

The ceremony was awesome. Sun shining down and the perfect location. Lucky devil. (And yes, that is actual Chainmail being worn by the Best Man)

All in all, a festive day was had by all.

Congratulations Jason! Best of wishes!

That is so incredibly AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow... what a treat that must've been! I gotta say... I'm pretty jealous. I would so go for that sort of wedding. I used to (half-)joke that I wanted a silver version of this dress for my wedding.

Betcha had lots of fun, eh?

That is so cool! I would love to have had a wedding like that. Maybe some day when my wife and I renew our vows we can do that.

ah, the couple look very good together. and the Bride's dress is beautiful! i love how the Bride's colors are reflected in the Bridesmaids' dresses.

i saw a Renaissance wedding once. It was much fun! At the end of the wedding, the wedding party created an archeway with the men's beribboned swords and the women's beribboned wands, and the Bride and Groom walked under it as the minister presented them as Mister and Missus.

Did you have special foods and a wedding feast?

i love the pic of the bridal bouquet.

Got any more pics of you, you handsome devil?

GIVE!

We did something similar, but at the beginning.

When the Bridesmaids were walking up, us Groomsman stood on each side with the rapiers in a Knight's Salute.

When the Bride and her father approached, we went into a archway of crossed swords for her.

Unfortunatly, the guy I passed my camera off to didn't get ANY shots of that set up. I'm greatly disappointed in that.

Only real special thing was cakes baked in castle shapes (I'd love to know where they found those Cake Molds to do that) in which all the guests at the reception were invited to decorate then eat.

The food itself was so-so. They catered out, so it was Roast Beef, Cheese Potatoes, and Vegetables. The Beef was super dry and the Vegetables were old. But the Cheese Potatoes were FANTASTIC.

As you wish.

A raffish sort, if I do say.

And then, what some consider my due...

I was a footstool for the Wedding Photographer as she got a shot of the Wedding bouquet.

The entire outfit is the Groomsmen's gifts by the Groom. So yeah, the Rapier is mine.

And yeah, we do go to Renfaires. We've got one planned for October, as a matter of fact. I won't be going in this outfit, I have another one I prefer to wear.
