I think it'd be cool. I mean....if it makes my hair fall out, I'll save on razors. If it makes my hair turn white...I shave my head. I suppose a white stripe in the beard might be kind of distinguished. I'd like to meet a ghost. Just to say I did it.

i take it you are one of those hardy souls who can control their nerves when you see something so totally foreign that you have no ideas of it's intentions, emotional stability, or capabilities? (the thing may not want you nearby, hate the way it died, and know how to run right up and hurt you?)

there's something to be said for the terror factor, when your gut burns and your hair stands on end, the world moves in slow motion, and it's not even something corporeal that you can fight off...

I don't even think I have ice-water in my veins or nerves of steel. But I'll never know how I deal with the likes of the paranormal without actually experiencing it. It might scar me for life in many different ways. But what's life without a little risk?

I would totally want to experience it. As long as we're not talking a violent ghost or anything.

I've never had an encounter... Though I will admit, I do not want to have one while it's like 3AM and I'm asleep... then I'm chickadee. I want to be fully awake and startled.

"Uh... excuse me, mister ghost, but you're not violent or anything, are ya? ...And please don't disturb me at night or anything. I need my rest."

:lol yeah, right!

Has anybody ever heard of Shadow People? Apperently there are people out there that have seen shadows that seem to move on there own. They can take the form of humans, animals, or just random shapes. People have experienced them being "attacked" by these things during there sleep.

I can't say I believe in these things, it just sounds like people seeing the shadow of something moving.

i've never heard any of those stories, but that's what my 'thing' was, in the 100-yr-old farmhouse where i grew up. just a menacing sort of moving shadow. it moved, but never took a definite shape.

interesting.

:OMG You saw a shadow person!!! Ever since I heard the episode of Coast to Coast am that talked about shadow people I haven't been able to get the idea out of my head. Now to actually know somebody that has experienced one.... wow Blue you just blew my mind.

Did it follow you at all, or just move randomly around when you were not looking? The idea of these thing really freak me out.

i'm not at all sure that what 'lived' in my house was what you have heard about. It was definitely a presence, sometimes active and sometimes nothing, but usually i just felt it around me, only upstairs. When i woke in the middle of the night is when i was most aware of it. Sometimes i even dreamed of it. ugh. i was very psychic when i was young.

i have to tell you though, the hair is standing up on the back of my neck to have someone else acknowledge that it was something more than my imagination. i know it was real, though, because when i was a teen i remember my older brother (fifteen years older) point upstairs and ask me if it was still around.

The first time i brought my boyfriend home to meet my dad, he saw it too; he just didn't realize it. We were outside talking to my dad, and my boyfriend asked when he was going to meet my (other) brother. i said my brother wasn't around. He said he had seen someone watching us from upstairs and pointed to my bedroom window.

i took him in the house and showed him that my father literally boarded up the upstairs so he only had to heat the downstairs in the fall and winter. Now THAT was creepy.

Ghost Hunters has actually caught several of these things on film. One was in a lighthouse, that was my favorite, another was in an old jailhouse.

i've seen some of their episodes, but not anything like that. Do they call them shadow people? Anything to differentiate from 'normal' apparitions?

Don't know if on those two specific episodes they referred to them as anything other than apparitions. I do remember they talked about 'shadow people' during one episode, but I think that was a seperate prison one, where they disproved a picture of a 'shadow person' via camera shadows. They recreated the image someone had captured almost perfectly.

However, these two were great. I'll try to see if there's clips of them anywhere. The lighthouse one, they kept seeing something going up the stairs, all the way to the top. Later, they looked at the video footage, and you can clearly see something looking over the edge... I think twice...

The clincher is the fact that there's a motion control light at the top of the lighthouse, which they set off when they ran up to make sure no one was screwing with them.

The other was a camera that was set down near the walkway by a notorious cell block. When they reviewed the tape, you see something.. almost like a bundle of cloth... rapidly run up to the camera and then run back and disappear. They tried to recreate this, and could not do it.

ok, these are youtube quality, and I haven't looked through them, but I'm sure both instances are in there somewhere.

It's clipped video of the actual 'evidence' that they've caught on a bunch of episodes. I think it includes some of the things they debunked as well.

Unfortunately, since it's youtube quality, there's a lot of lost detail.

I think the first one actually has both that I mentioned.

Veoh has about nine full length shows as well.

I've seen the lighthouse ep your talking about Roady and it was CRAZY! That thing put a hand on the railing and leaned out over it looking straight down at the camera!

yeah, what amazes me is that , Ghost Hunters International explores castles that are hundreds of years old, and all they ever catch seems to be crappy EVPs. I have yet to see them get ANYTHING that was blatantly chilling.
