I just saw the movie Snow White and the Huntsman. The best feature is the location. The film was shot almost entirely in Wales, UK. The scenery is almost worth the ticket price. Chris Hemsworth excelled as the Huntsman. I know it's been mentioned before on this thread, but he would make the best Wulfgar in a Drizzt movie. Charlize Theron was well cast as the Evil Queen. She makes the Evil Queen of Once Upon a Time look like a Girl Scout. The Dwarves led by Ian McShane added to the story. The only short coming was the written portrayal of Snow White. The character was locked in a prison for almost her whole life. She does an escape that would do a rogue proud and even had on trousers and boots under her tattered dress. This is not a slam against Kristen Stewart. It seemed that the screenwriters couldn't decide if she was to be a princess who survived by guile and diplomacy or a martial arts heroine. She had all of two minutes of instruction from the Huntsman. It was a jarring inconsistency. There was the CGI of a Treebeard type character. The special effect was well done. This is a movie worth seeing. |

BWAAHAAHAAAAA on the sweet princess or martial artist flip-flop! I've seen Stewart in two or three of the Twilight movies, and I really don't like her. Remember all the jokes about Keanu Reeves and his only facial expression and tone of voice being so bland? Stewart is worse! Hemsworth seems to be becoming a major star with his bulging muscles and blonde Swede face. I think I'm going to like him. What did you think of his acting skills? |

Chris Hemsworth has very good acting skills. I can see him doing serious drama, Chick Flick drama, comedies, and making fantasy/action as his bread and butter. His brother Liam Hemsworth was impressive in the Hunger Games. As for those making a Drizzt movie or series: Hurry and get Hemsworth cast as Wulfgar before he costs a bajillion dollars. |

Chris and Liam... ya know, I hadn't even connected their faces or knew their names. Wow, am I behind! ...Maybe Wulfgar needs a little brother...? |

I saw this tonight on FX (before the new ep of The Strain). It was fun. I agree with alicelouise58's review, and would also add I liked the ambiguity of not knowing just what the "Magic Mirror" was (was it an actual entity only the Queen could see & hear, or was it all in her mind, a manifestation of her own paranoia?). |
