Eeeeeeh. Slightly worried. Moving to Yellow Alert.

Foster teased the theme for the prospective series, declaring: "If evil wore the face of a hero, would you recognize it? If freedom came in the likeness of your oppressors, would you accept it? If you were your own enemy, who would be victorious?"

I'm not interested in yet another Grimdark Super-serious Star Trek romp. Especially not with a young cast that'll just make it feel like the 90s remake of Cruel Intentions that tried to ramhorn in Pre-Revolutionary French Aristocracy Sexual Deviancy into High Schoolers.

What ever happened to Seek Out New Life and New Civilizations, To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before? Is the trill of adventure and discovery just not enough for a generation raised on CSI: WE ARE LEGION?

I like good drama. But ever since the new Battlestar Galactica I feel like Science Fiction in general is taking itself far too seriously. Babylon 5 told a intense, dramatic tale and still found time each episode for warmth and humor.

I just worry this new Trek will be less B5 and more Stargate: Universe.

im still sore that after voyager we got Enterprise. After the Dominion war in DS9. Voyager was a great 7 year distraction away from the federation allowing it to reset and rebuild. There is tons of stories and ships and crews they could have invented after voyager returned. ill never know why they thought doing a prequel show like enterprise was a good idea. and ofcoruse with the movie the time line is jacked to hell. which isn't bad per say i really am interested in the new directions the shows could take but still. I hope if they do a new show it inst fail

Rusty, I have to agree with you. Dark and Edgy drama has been over used in the past decade.

The Star Trek franchise has been milked enough already. They don't need to emulate nuBSG.
