The two movies based on the seventh and final Harry Potter book will NOT be released in 3D. Well, that sucks. BUT the first part is out on November 19, and the second will follow next July. Let's hope they did a great job with our last chance to see the world of Harry Potter!![]() ![]() EDIT: posters didn't show at first. Edited by Blue Phoenix, November 10, 2010, 10:36 pm.

The story is crying out for 3D Toy Story 3 and even Despicable Me had 3D effects. I think maybe the suits will release a future 3D version.Anywho my youngest son and I will be the first in line when this movie comes out. |

I'll be right behind you! I don't remember if my sons got into HP first or i did, but i've read all the books and we have all the movies. It's still a favorite of ours. This is advertised as being in 3D, but the article I saw quoted the Powers That Be and said they couldn't accomplish it to the high standards they expected, so they dropped the idea. Bah. |

http://apps.facebook.com/harrypotter-tm/ There are half dozen great clips of the new movie on this page. I love watching the camera action as if I was part of the film crew. |

I SAW IT!!! ...damn, this film is dark... Both in subject matter and in lighting, because they're always in the woods, or it's night, or there's a dungeon or dark cottage. That got annoying really fast! Barely a bright color to be found! On the good side, it was very well made and the actors are excellent, as always. And even though it's an extremely lengthy film, there wasn't a whole lot of time for the side-players, which was a shame. I'm sure I'll go see it at least once more. |

I will be seeing this tomorrow. Just think, there will be the final movie in June of next year Yes, the Harry Potter novels are dark and well plotted on many levels. This is why it appeals to so many different age groups and cultures. Many serious reviewers give Harry Potter the short shrift. I feel sorry for them. |

There's nothing much that I can add to your review except that I agree with it. |

It is in Imax, so yes, I do want to see it again. My sister and I went. She had not read the book. One thing to point out is if one hasn't read Deathly Hallows or the HP series; the viewer is going to be lost. I know, someone who hasn't read at least one HP book is pretty rare. Just so a potential viewer knows. This is also much more serious than the earlier HP movies. I wouldn't consider this a kids' movie. |

Very true; the first movies were light and fun and full of kids' stuff (even with danger and mystery and peril it was suitable for children) but the last couple of movies, when the deaths started, surely changed the nature of the films. For those who grew up watching these movies, it's a natural progression and they're older now too; for the new kids... well, even though we know from the novels who wins, it would be hard for a child to watch the later movies, no? Wonderful to see the three main actors and the characters grow up over the years. However much it cost to keep ALL these actors signed up for subsequent movies, it was worth it, and kept the world alive for all of us. I hate when diff actors take on a role in later movies... |

Caught this Sunday night, half filled theatre, if that, so it was a good viewing, not a lot of people very little stay comments. I liked it, thought the movie was pretty good. It was indeed darker than those before it but that makes sense, the movies seam to be as adult as the main characters, so as the kids got older the movies got more adult. There are a few tear jerker scenes but over all good. I do think it was over hyped however which detracted from my enjoyment of the movie. Over all I rate it a $8 movie. |
