Then create a new topic with the title being the name of your character in a seperate thread in the forum and a GM will then view it for approval. If you are ready for a thread to be viewed and Blue or myself have not looked it over yet, give us a friendly nudge via PM and we will get to it. Please do keep in mind we do have lives off the board and we ask at least 3 days of your form being up and not checked before you pm us. She is an emotional creature and tends wear her heart on her sleeve. She is caring, kind and gentle, especially with young children, having grown up around many, being her mother Serenade, a famous Bard, who cares for the orphans of the city. Among the things that can be considered her strengths are her conviction to finish everything she starts and her determination to solve a problem presented to her in a quick and correct fashion. This trait can also be considered a weakness, as she tries to solve everything on her own and detests help when people try to offer it, as she politely tells them no. The young woman seems to have inherited her birth mother's wild streak as well, which contrasts in some people's eyes with her quiet and seemingly obedient nature. This trait tends to rear its head more when she is told something is beyond her abilities or too dangerous for a young woman like herself to handle. This makes her do just that; go out and find out first hand if it is truly too dangerous or beyond her ability to handle. Being much like her birth father, she tends to look at any failures as her own fault, even if they are not, often brooding about them for years to come. She does not take guff from anyone and will tell someone off if they cross the line and is not above using physical force to protect herself, all things she learned from her adopted mother Serenade. History: Melahin Sylvariel, born Ellemiire Do'Urden, was the only daughter and first born child of twins born to Drizzt and Catti-brie Do'Urden of Mithril Hall. She was a calm baby and not as fussy or demanding as her twin brother, 5 minutes her junior, named Zaknafein. When she was six months old, a drow matron of the second house of Menzoberranzan attacked Mithril Hall, intent on capturing the renegade Drizzt for sacrifice. While the drow were defeated, the twisted woman learned something far more valuable lived in Mithril Hall... Drizzt had an infant daughter! At this she hatched a plan to take the baby and raise it to hate its father and serve Lolth, knowing Drizzt could never kill his own child. But unknown to her, other ears heard of this plot, ears that spilled information to Lady Alustriel of Silverymoon. Hearing this atrocious news, the lady sent a messenger to Mithril Hall post haste to inform her dear drow friend of the danger to his daughter. After a long and painful discussion, it was deemed safer for Ellemiire if she was not at Mithril Hall until the situation seemed to be handled and she was safe again. It was with a heavy heart and tearful farewells that baby Ellemiire was handed to the messenger and taken back to Silverymoon. Lady Alustriel cared for the baby for a few days before she realized she could not give the infant the attention and great care that she deserved. It was then that she called for her friend Serenade, the child's maternal aunt, knowing she took care of orphaned children. Thinking that such a child needed a strong paternal influence and a protector, she also called on Malhavoc, her Mage Knight Commander who was on leave from duty while recovering from an injury, and secretly brought the two to her palace. She then charged them both with the infant girl's proper rearing and daily care. She also advised they do not use her true name, as this child was marked by the drow for kidnapping. She shared the child's name and who her parents were; this greatly surprised Malhavoc as he knew little about the famous drow ranger Drizzt Do'Urden other than the legends and had not thought him as the marrying sort, but as always served Alustriel in whatever task she presented to him. There was tension and some bad blood between the pair of caretakers at first, being that Malhavoc had been the one to care for Serenade as a severely wounded child in years past, but because of his duties, he had to leave her at an orphanage once she recovered. The pair raised Ellemiire/Melahin as if they were only friends for several years, Serenade trying hard to not like Malhavoc merely on principle, but when the child was four years old, the elves of a neighboring community came forward and demanded she be turned over, as they could tell she was a half elf and they would see to raising their own kind, unaware of the elven half being of drow. With no other way to keep peace with the elves, Serenade declared the child was hers from her unofficial union with Malhavoc, startling (yet muchly pleasing) Malhavoc and leading to many interesting encounters.
